Great atmosphere and friendly staffs. Felt as if I was dining in a well-decorated greenhouse. There are outside seats as well so you can bring your pets. It’s certainly a pet-friendly cafe. Coffee was great. They use Market Lane Coffee beans which is my favourite. And they also serve free sparkling water which was nice. On the downside, food was below average. We wanted to try some menu we saw on Google review but was told they don’t do them anymore. Looked like they change their menu quite often, I don’t know why. We ended up having some honey crumpet and omelette which were way below our expectation. Nothing special. Anyone can make such dish I suppose. It was Friday afternoon but the cafe was rather empty as you can see from the photos. It’s a lovely place to have a cup of coffee if you like plants and the warmth of the sun (and some sparrows flying around). But you might not be satisfied if you came for food.

Really nice setting just off Brunswick Street in Fitzroy. Garden area is perfect for a G&T in the summer. The food menu has modern Australian options including Kangaroo Tartare. Indoor areas easily fill up at the weekend.

Like so many before me, I was wowed by the funky decor and feel of the place. There was a wave of calm and peace about the place that's hard to describe, even though it was filled with diners enjoying their midday meal. The innovative menu was intriguing and so began the food experiment. The confit duck brioche toastie was comfort food at its best, with gruyere bechamel and prune puree. Rich, warming mouthfuls of tender duck and cheese just melded beautifully with the sweet prune puree. Admittedly I left the pickled gherkins untouched, consumed by visuals of people picking out the unloved gherkin from McDonalds burgers. There was a beetroot hot chocolate on the menu that I couldn't go past. The result was a mildly flavoured hot chocolate, not too sweet but carried a hint of savoury. As much as I loved the ambience, murals and casual feel of this place, service today was questionable. Despite many unhurried staff, nobody seemed too interested in taking my order but whipped the plate away as soon as I finished. There was no queue. It's a really cool spot but there're many cool spots in Fitzroy and the neighbouring suburbs to check out.

Hidden in a quite corner of a quiter lane in Fitzroy, Grub cafe was quite refreshing to our mood with quirky decor and so much color and greens around. A dull winter morning in Melbourne was not dull anymore, thanks to the Vibrant setting. Other than the human voices we could also hear sparrows communicating 😊. Ordered a Smoked Salmon Bowl, Beef and Lentil Pie and Breakfast Platter to go with their in-house Hot Chocolate with Orange and Spices or Ginger (can't recollect but was divine) An absolute pleasure of ours and our taste buds to have enjoyed one of the most beautiful meals in Melbourne but everyone's favorite was the Salmon Bowl. Quite refreshing! And then of course the Beef and Lentil Pie and Breakfast Platter were next best thing that happened to us. Vegans, Vegetarians, and Meat lovers are well taken care by the most genuinely affectionate staff and every dish we ordered was a value for money.

Two thing that I love about this place : Food and the atmosphere. I love both the indoor and outdoor settings. Dogs friendly .. and any kids would love the place as they could play around at someone’s magical garden. Very friendly environment. Perfect for a family to have brunch or lunch together. You wouldn’t be disappointed with your meal and coffee

What a quirky, adorable big space! Absolutely loved everything about this cafe! Their outdoor and indoor area is dog friendly and the waiters made sure my pup had a water bowl nearby. Ordered a chai latte and was tempted to get another one after my meal too! My breakfast was delicious, just the right amount and was beautifully presented. The thick cut bacon was on point! Parking can get a little tricky here but to check out it this place is well worth it! Also easy access to public transport. Will be back for sure!

First impressions, wow! The funky decor really is an interesting one that surely we will remember of😊. We ordered the Crispy poached eggs, thick cut bacon, cornbread, tomato relish and avocado salsa and the Classic Eggs Benny😄. Crispy poached eggs isn’t something you’d usually get, very interesting and delightfully delicious😍. We thought the thick cut bacon would be fatty, however its not at all, a very enjoyable dish. The Eggs Benny is a classic, something that I usually get as a benchmark, as it’s also something hard to get right, but this is another spot on eggs benny💪. Overall the food + experience 5/5, another well spent afternoon with enjoyable food and creative decor😘. Thank you for having us

Really really good brunch I've had. It's potato omelette with chorizo and wilted greens with some fish (I forgot the name). I thought it was merely another fancy looking food at first but it was really awesome with multiple flavours and very filling as well. Service staff was also polite and nice; she constantly checked (because I sat out in the open) if everything was okay and if I needed anything else. Coffee was okay, not mind-blowing but decent. Overall, with good deco and lovely Al fresco dining, 5 stars.

Went to Grub twice during my visit. The staff are very kind and friendly, and the space is quirky but also relaxed. The podcast playing in the bathroom is a nice touch and really gives the place a lot of personality. Food wise, they do real simple food but it's all minimally processes, made in house, with lots of heart and deliciousness! I particularly want to highlight their service, I first went to attend at event that was held there, but no one showed up. The staff at Grub did their best to make me feel comfortable, checking in with me and going out of their way to make me feel welcomed despite still doing their morning setup. It was really sweet, so a big thank you!

A very unique and hippy cafe in Fitzroy. Food tasted pretty good and looks good too. We went on Sunday around 12 and there was a big queue already. My suggestion is to get there before 12 for sure. When we got there it was super busy and it took a bit longer than usual to get our food. But if you are not in a rush, it’s definitely an interesting place to visit. Coffee is pretty good too.
