We’ve been to this place with a knowledge of overpriced. When you pay higher, your expectation of quality is high as well which I haven’t seen. In my opinion they have Average food quality with entree and main foods. I personally didn’t like their risotto as you could smell of prawns (less marinated) and also the plate they served was not suitable for that meal. My friends enjoyed their Ragu pasta, however, I believe they used extra tomato in there with minimum cheese. Finally, their staff and customer service was exceptional. Thank you 😊

I’ve heard incredible things about this place, which is a favourite top #5 of a good friend of mine, however the service it was quite disappointing. No attention, pointing the way to the table, without being welcoming and shouting to each other. I wait for my friends for about 10min without even being asked if I want water. When my friend arrived, got her first drinks without asking about me. So I had to wait and ask for service. Until the end of the dining experience, I couldn’t identify who was our waiter. Working in hospitality allow me to have a sense about service, mainly in this strange period after Covid, however most of the waitress there has experience, so I’m not sure if there is any excuse for the poor service. Food was beautiful though, missing a bit of salt in everything, but I don’t mind to do so.

Simply amazing place. The cocktails were divine, the meals were cooked perfectly and perfectly portioned. The meals tasted fresh and delicious. The waiters were the best. Down to earth, professional, easy going, very attentive. Loved it

The food was absolutely delicious 😋. I really liked the way they done their pasta. The texture was different from most fresh pasta dishes. I regret not selecting their signature pasta dish (ask them about it because I forgot the name). I saw another diner eating it and it looks amazing! We got vegetarian friendly pasta and I definitely think they nailed it with the flavor. It's hard to come across vegetarian food that tastes this good! The creme brulee was divine. It had a smokey flavor for the sugar candy. Apparently they have a romantic rooftop setting but it's only for 2 diners at a time. We have me , my son and my husband. Also, they don't have a kids menu, but our waiter was super friendly and she's good with kids.

Italian restaurant that has been around for a while and seems to have many regulars when we were there. The interior design has that rustic old charm to it although felt a little squishy as there is not much space with the next tables. There are few seatings outside with bigger space but you have pedestrians walking past and get a little cold during winter. The spaghetti was decent. The veal Parmagiana was served thin with this light crumb coating. I would not recommend the broccolini as it was very basic. The charcuterie board was the best dish for our meal. It comes with these fluffy pillow-y mini breads that provide great texture which goes well with the cold cuts. Food - 8 Service - 9 Vibe - 8 Price - $$

Coming from Queensland I had to return to my favourite restaurant. The service is the best you will experience, the guys are great, one was singing to make the experience even better. My wife and I had a fantastic Sunday lunch and cannot wait to return hopefully soon.

Made to feel special, Mum and dad have been coming here for nearly 35 years especially every time they have a milestone. So I booked for a big birthday celebration and what a highlight. From the Italian charm to the authentic flavours a must try the crochettes, their famous Seafood Linguine and make sure if you’re sharing the Tiramisu you cheekily request for an extra chocolate spoon. Great experience!

The service here was fantastic, and the food was delicious. The staff are all incredibly accommodating, allowing us to enjoy the romantic atmosphere to its fullest. The pastas where incredible, and it's clear that quality ingredients are used. A must visit if you're into that sort of thing. Very genuinely italian

Good Italian restaurant vibes and top notch Italian food, the seafood spaghetti that comes in baking paper is a must try, one of the best I've had. The deep fried veal is also satisfying and portion is generous. Cocktails are above average for a restaurant but not as good as their food. Only complaint is that the Vermouth I ordered is way too small in portion for $14 (30ml I guess). Will try some Italian wines next time.

Finally came to this place which everyone recommended to me when talking about Italian food. We ordered their signature seafood linguine and the spaghetti with tomato sauce. We just love them both and cleaned the plate. Also, the beef carpaccio has a balanced creamy taste with mayo. And a tiramisu is a must try in an Italian’s !

Food is delectable and we enjoyed every bite. Shared the calamari which was sweet, crispy and simply delicious. Main was the fettuccine with Morton bay bugs. Cooked to perfection. The staff were lovely and attentive. One of Melbourne's best dining institutions.

For more than twenty years, I keep returning to this establishment when I'm in Melbourne. This Italian gem always exceeds my expectations. I love the way their food combines creativity with tradition. Caffé e Cucina transports you straight to Italy with their authentic flavours. The attentive, charming, and friendly staff also make dining here an exceptional experience. I highly recommend this restaurant in South Yarra.

Delicious food, make sure to try out risotto, might not on the menu, make sure to ask the waitress. Also handsome and beautiful waiters.

Caffe e Cucina is a Melbourne institution, a dining experience that takes you back to a different time and place. There is better Italian food in Melbourne, but there is not many places that have “ec” magic.

Caffe e Cucina remains to be the renowned restaurant with modernised Italian food and atmosphere. We had a lovely date night and the service was exceptional. Highly recommend their tagliatelle ragu, zucchini flowers and calamari fritti dishes. Perfect for a romantic dinner date or a special dinner with family and friends.

Its a really nice restaurant with great food and great service. the actual restaurant itself is nothing fancy at all - very small. I've been to a lot of restaurants all over the world and I just couldn't believe how expensive it was. $92 for a steak. $17 for a glass of the cheapest red wine (which was very nice but costs the same price for a bottle outside). Maybe I'm tight I don't know.
