Stopped by the new S&D for lunch today, 3ish weeks after their new venue opened. This new space is CLASSY. The take away section is swanky. I love the dine in canteen style space. There's no compromise with the quality of food. For $20 we got a main and 2 sides that we could eat all over again. 5 stars for how delicious the food is. 5 stars for the modern, sophisticated yet casual space. And 5 stars for the rock star staff especially during these trying times. Nice work. We will definitely be back again.

My wife and I are big Smith & Deli fans, so when planning our fully vegan wedding, having them be part of it was an easy choice! They were so easy to work with from the very beginning, and really went out of their way to help us, giving us so many options! I wish we had more pictures of their lovely macarons before they were eaten, but everyone jumped on them so quickly, they barely lasted 15 minutes! Thank you so much Smith & Deli team!

Not sure if something's happening with this place....my bf and I came for breaky and they had nothing available (no breaky toasties). A few times it's been like this, they aren't having a full menu lately. I know a lot of us make an effort to come here and support them, so it's annoying that they aren't stocking food especially for a busy weekend. A few other people came and were annoyed also. Food we got is delicious and staff are lovely (not their fault) but owners need to make sure they have enough stock. Not sure if this place is having financial issues or not? Hope not.

Such an amazing sandwich! Didn't expect such wholesome, action-packed flavours from a vegan sandwich. All their sandwiches looked amazing. I ended up grabbing their signature 'The Godfather' which was highly recommended by one of the employees. Perfect amount of hot chili and jalapenos along with flavourful vegan salami and pepperoni. I don't know how they made it possible using only vegan ingredients but it was beautifully delicious. Mozzarella, basil and roasted capsium with crispy bread was just perfect. I know $16 for a sandwich is absurd but it's most definitely worth trying. I will definitely come back to try their other sandwiches!

TLDR; A Vegan Delight with Exceptional Croissants The Smith&Deli is a must-visit for vegans and food enthusiasts alike. The baked basque cheesecake is divine, with a light and smooth texture and a perfect balance of lemon and vanilla flavors. The croissants are exceptional, with perfectly formed layers that create a deliciously crispy exterior and soft, buttery center. The spacious seating area is nicely spaced out, and the outdoor space is a nice little touch. The No-Nonsense juice is the perfect complement to a sunny day. Overall, Smith&Deli scores a solid 9 out of 10.

Pretty good vegan food. The parmageddon sandwich was the best. I thought it was chicken but apparently it is made out of tofu. I thought the plate is a little bit expensive. And they serve different sandwiches at the deli vs the cafeteria.

My goodness this is good. Their rotating daily menu has some amazing food. The coffee is top notch. The breakfast options are great and they ALSO do dinner. Service 10/10 and their deli + produce range is quality and fresh. You gotta go here.

I’m so in love with the new location! Gone are the days of queuing round the block and waiting on the side of the road for your order (which was always worth it regardless), now you have the option of popping in to grab the old fa pyrite like the amazing sandwiches and pies, OR grabbing some of the new canteen lunch options and dining in. The canteen options are to die for, very much on the level of the Smith & Daughters dinner menu but with a mix-and-match vibe. Obsessed!

If you're vegan and have never been to Smith + Deli run, don't walk! Highly recommend getting any sandwich fresh or toasted from the menu, you will not be disappointed! The ready made freezer meals are incredible and buy one of every salad if you go! Can't recommend Smith + Deli enough. My partner and I are from Sydney and S+D is always our number one MUST VISIT for food when we're in Melbourne

My all time favourite place in Melbourne. Every single pastry is delicious and I'm a huge fan of their toasted sandwiches. The egg martinez is a quick and easy breakfast and their sausage rolls are a perfect lunch on the go. It can get quite busy and loud on weekends so sometimes I grab takeaway and eat it at a nearby park. The Wiggum sandwich is highly recommended. They also have a small store with vegan goods such as chocolate which is always fun to browse through.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently had the pleasure of visiting Smith & Deli in Collingwood, and let me tell you, it exceeded all expectations! The menu offers an array of options, from hearty breakfast toasties to decadent loaded sandwiches, all bursting with flavour and creativity. The 'Egg Martinez' was a personal favourite, with it being a creative knock-off of a Maccas Egg & Bacon McMuffin. The affordability of the menu (toasties range from $10-18) combined with the innovative flavour combinations makes it a must-visit for anyone craving delicious vegan food. On top of all of this, their vegan bakery items are definitely one of the best available in Melbourne - with their bakery items often rotating. (think donuts, cookies, slices, croissants and more!). I honestly can't imagine anyone being unhappy with the food offering. Just be mindful to get there early, as we went on a Sunday morning (around 10am) and we were lucky to get a seat!

Love the new space. It’s got a lot of variety compared to the previous venue, plus a massive, light-filled dining area perfect for a quick breakfast or lunch. The canteen-style plates are a fun novelty with interesting options that rotate daily. I tried the chicken pot pie plus a pesto pasta salad, roasted pumpkin and a veg frittata, all of which was high quality and very well flavoured. At $28 for the large size, it’s not a lunch I would purchase daily, but if you want a more affordable option there are plenty of sandwiches under $20.

There’s always amazing food and coffee here, priced reasonably well with friendly staff. It’s also fully vegan owned and run. Also has the best vegan sandwiches you could find anywhere in the world.

The old location was great, if small. I've been to the current location a handful of times and each time was pretty disappointing. The music inside is just way too loud (and people have commented to staff about it), and the food (with the exception of the croissants) isn't as great as it used to be. My recent sandwich was way overloaded with a bland slaw and not much tofu compared to past purchases. In the old days I happily queued up, but won't be going back now.

Absolutely amazing food. Personal favourite was the cronuts. Serves a huge variety of deli food and has an attached supermarket like area.

It was incredibly hot today and they had a nice selection of indoor seating in air con. The building is wheelchair accessible. There is also outdoor seating under a cover. We Ordered the kale Caesar, Rubinstein, free Willy, and an iced oat chai. The vegan Reuben was incredible. Hot, delicious, 10/10 would eat again. The kale Caesar tasted like they used violife dressing, which I really disliked, but the kale was crunchy and fresh. The oat chai tasted strongly and singularly of star anise. I would not order again. The free Willy was not my favorite, but can see how it is a solid vegan tuna; it was just a little too tuna for me! (😅)

Extensive menu of hot and cold food. The food was delicious and my husband who isn't vegan enjoyed his meal too! Enjoyed a cold wine too. Highly recommend this amazing vegan cafe

10/10, the scrambled tofu is so good and the Reuben was a highlight. Came twice while I was in Melbourne for the long weekend and would’ve went a third time if they were open on Monday.

I had the 'Nobody Calls Me Chicken' for breakfast and it was a good way to start the day. I went there on opening time and the shelf was already full of available options. The staff were friendly and service was quick. I also ordered their large mystery box one afternoon and it was a very pleasant surprise. There were different salad options and pastries, that the whole box was more than enough for four people. Great value for money!

So much to choose from - no wonder this place is so high rated:) friendly staff and nice atmosphere. I got the almond croissant which are a very hard find and this was was divine. I could have eaten every one on display. Some great looking salads and fake meats on display in the Deli section which was cool. I also got a takeaway sando which used tempeh and fake bacon, loved the packaging too

Amazing food, service and a beautiful store! Had one of the best breakfast rolls ever. Their vegemite scroll was so soft and delicious, and they have really great coffee. Returned later to have a meatball toasted sandwich, and it was insanely good! We can't wait to come back.

Amazing experience with my takeaway. Walking in I was immediately impressed with the display and layout of all the food. All the labels are super easy to read and everything looks so delicious! The staff were so friendly and I can’t wait to come back to dine in. 10/10 food and experience, you just go!

Beautiful place but very busy. There was only one staff doing five people’s order in the dine in area. The dine in area was also confusing and staff had to explain to each person how it worked. It was simply ordering in the counter but the layout made it look like we got to pick out things.

Absolutely love the new store! Have been twice now and sat down in the diner/deli and loved the easy buffet style service, so convenient and so quick to get a full meal! The first meal the weekend before Christmas (chicken pot pie & roasted pumpkin with gravy) was incredible. They are a new store with limited staff due to the current covid spike, I wish the below reviewers would have patience whilst their team navigate this insane and stressful time. You don’t need to slander a business in reviews to give constructive feedback. Will be coming back again and again and looking forward to see how they grow and improve! :)

Get the smoked salmon bagel, a sweetie treat and a piping hot coffee. You will not regret it. The deli set up is stunning!

Absolutely incredible place, vegan heaven!! They have the most amazing toasted sandwiches, vegan meats, cafe food, and some of the best baked sweets you'll find anywhere! A must visit place if you're in Melbourne! And props to them for having a fully wheelchair accessible venue + bathroom!

Incredible selection of vegan eats which make for creative meals at home to mix and match. Also, the toasted sandwiches are to die for! And the team there are just so friendly and a joy to be around. Absolutely love this place.

Salads here are SO GOOD, would highly recommend the chicken salad to just about anyone!! Sandwiches have amazing textures, but always on the abit too salty end.

I loved the Salmon Bagel but the Parmageddon bagel was delicious too - strong pesto flavour and crispy chicken tender. I have no idea how Smith and Deli made the Salmon but that’s a definitive must try when visiting. Service was fast and friendly! Thanks Smith and Deli team for a great morning breakfast.

Tried The Godfather 2 and it was delicious! Although too much sauce and made it a bit salty, I still like it! Will go back and try tofu or chicken one
