This is a nice place to watch the sunset. You should come here about 30 minutes to sunset. The dock is reachable using the free tram. Get off at the dockland stop in front of the Marvel stadium.

Although I’ve caught the Port Arlington ferry a number of times, I only recently heard about the ferry to Geelong. And it was another terrific experience. The ride over from Melbourne to Geelong started with glassy waters before turning to white peaks and then quite large waves. Yikes. But for me it remained a really smooth ride. I booked online on my way to the ferry and it was effortless. The staff were ace, helpful and super friendly. Highly recommend.

Nice view, my kids enjoyed the trip a lot. Friendly staff helped me rebook tickets using my son's companion card. Definitely will go again in the future.

Such a great cruising experience! We were three families and thoroughly enjoyed the trip. First class facilities with hassle free online booking. Oh.. forgot to say: really good price for such a long river cruise .

Always a great experience to travel to Geelong via ferry ride. They are very punctual with trimmings, the boat is always neat and well maintained with an in house bar.

This service is such an awesome way to travel as an alternative to using the road or rail. Staff are all friendly and do a great job, boarding an exiting the boat is so easy and fast. Also, docking is quick, well done, Port Phillip Ferries.

With the increasing price of fuel, I am all about a cheaper way to travel and Port Phillip Ferries is a great way to travel across the bay in a fun, cost efficient way, beat the traffic and kick back and enjoy the scenes. And the best part? Kids are FREE during school holidays. My favourite price. 👍 There is plenty of seating on board, both inside and outside, upstairs and downstairs. There is also a cafe and the crew are all super chill and easy to chat to. Port Phillip Ferries offer 3 routes: Geelong ↔️ Docklands Portarlington ↔️ Docklands Geelong ↔️ Portarlington They also offer a variety of packages along The Bellarine and Docklands, as well as discounts on local venues. So whether you’re looking for a city break, mini seaside vacay or just a long lazy lunch at a winery, Port Phillip Ferries has you covered.

I went for trip yesterday and it was awesome. Sunrise on the bay as we were in the middle of Corio bay. Especially in evening was exiting, coming trough Melbourne harbor past ships and under the bridges, and passing a huge tanker in the dark on the bay. Coming into Geelong in the dark was great. I will do it again one day!

Ferrying it home to Melbourne at 8am on a Monday. Insta worthy views, tweeting the ride as chairs are comfy, there's a tonne of space and you can always hang outside on back deck to enjoy the view for a bit longer. Coming into Docklands I looked straight at the cow in the tree. All in all worth my multi pass and looking forward to doing this trip.many times

Trip to Geelong from Docklands and back was a splendid idea for a perfect day! Everything about it was MAGNIFICENT: the space inside and outer decks of the catamaran, the little bar and the warm, caring crew. Splendid, a bit choppy weather and 30+ knots speed. Pure delight!

I love travelling to work on the ferry! I get a jump start on my day’s work at a comfortable desk with a great coffee. The staff are always friendly and helpful and make the trip a pleasure. It sure beats driving to work!!

Wow, it is a cool place. I went there to see the New year lighing show. Really impressed. Unfortunately could not see the Drone show as it was cancelled. Also security with respect to covid protocol was being followed.

I fantastic day trip to picturesque town of Portarlington . The ferry course offers a fantastic view of the city of Melbourne and a fascinating glimpse of the busy freight docks.

There's a nice little cafe with restrooms for those waiting for the ferry. Many low and high tables inside to enjoy coffee, pastries, nice little cheese+cracker trays, and to stay warm while waiting. Also a stand with free water and cups too.

A good day out. Ferry left EXACTLY on time at every location. Comfy seats, good spacing throughout and good customer service.

The location is good - the adjacent cafe has big windows that give a good view of the bay, and it's comfortable enough. The cafe has a reasonable selection of drinks and snacks, there should be something there for anyone's taste. The location is a short distance from public transport, and there's plenty of photo opportunities in the area. A good starting place for a great journey!

I absolutely loved this vintage boat ride up and down stream on the Yarra River Melbourne. Our captain was very knowledgeable on all the bridges and the history of boats and the river it's self. A must to do, just across the bridge at Flinders Station to Southgate.

Incredible vessels to travel.9n and the crew are very professional and friendly. Tt snacks to keep YOU a happy traveller. The staff are friendly and attentive. One suggestion is extra Unisex toilets are needed especially during peak travel times. Did a trip to Bellarine Peninsula to visit friends in Portarlington and back. A fantastic journey with incredible views of Melbourne's Bay and City Skyline. A must-do do and why would you drive!! Ferries also travel to Geelong!! Cheers 👍

This service to Portarlington & Geelong is OUTSTANDING! The boats are BRAND NEW, with ramp access & minimal stairs on the lower deck. Face to face support: They have super helpful onsite staff at Docklands to help you book in advance & ensure you get a seat. Additionally, if you purchase a "multiple rider" the cost is only $13:50 each way. A great alternative to the crowded & noisy V-line service.

We enjoyed a lovely group outing on the ferry to Portarlington. The ferry ride was smooth and comfortable. There is a small kiosk onboard for snacks and drinks restrooms were very clean and spacious.

Customers beware. Off with the ferries cafe is a scam! They don’t show the machine as you pay and when we questioned the $11 price tag for 2 coffees we got verbally attached. Because we didn’t know about the add ons and eftpos surcharge. Our complaint wasn’t even about the $1 so we left and as we walking out the owner throws the $1 coin at me!!!! Ridiculous.

It is absolutely beautiful place for photos, any time of the year. However, I reckon that the council should look after this gorgeous environment, not only for tourism but because it is nature and animals do come to it...and it is just so sad to see not been look after.

Just a beautiful day to jump on a Ferry from Docklands to Geelong & enjoy the scenery as you leave scenic Melbourne.

Worst service I have experienced!! The cafe have no respect for customers, over priced coffee and most of items are expensive. The old owners have no idea how to operate this business, when we asked about the prices we got abused.. go somewhere else was there answer… NEVER AGAIN…

Easy to access via Southern Cross station or by tram. But there is little to no shelter from the elements. At peak times cafe is packed to the rafters.

We arrived 10 minutes before our ferry departure to Geelong on a wet Melbourne day. There was nowhere dry to sit and wait for the ferry. We were directed by the friendly staff to go sit in the nearby NAB building. Unfortunately it was locked so we had to wait outside. I can see they are building what looks like a lounge. They also have a temporary building big enough to provide shelter. Why is it not open????

Awesome view. Also, best to get relaxed especially at night time. The pictures were taken at the firelight festival night.
