I took a Melbourne River Cruise along the Yarra River on my last day in the city and it was relaxing and enjoyable. The captain was hilarious with his points of interest talks and it was great to learn more about Melbourne’s sporting precinct which lines the Yarra. For a one hour cruise it a good way to be introduced to Melbourne along the Yarra. The staff who look after the tours was outstanding!

Loved the cruise and the ferry master was amazing and the thing I loved the most was his commentary. Keep it up mate and a gr8 job done.

Great cruise around the river with Dean I think was his name with his mate Tas. Smooth cruise and insightful commentary.

Truly amazing experience. It’s underrated. I thought it was going to be meh, but it was surprisingly amazing and perfect for first date experience. Avoid weekend and school holidays, otherwise some kids will push you to get better view.

Very pleasant way to spend the day in the city and see a part of Melbourne that many don't get to and then the cafe's and stores of Williamstown have something for everyone

Enjoyed the 1 hour yarra river cruise Had a coupon via a tourist book from the airport. Shaded with a tourguide, think it was just enough to learn some interesting stuff about the city and worth the money. Tourguide / captain was very pleasant and kind.

Only had time to do the short cruise to the Docklands and back, 1hr @$27 per adult, learnt some history of early Australia in that area that was new to me,probably better to go for the 2hr cruise if time permits

Great viewing and excellent commentary from our captain ?

We did the twilight cruise which was nice. It was raining for the first half so couldn't see much as we were inside. There is a small deck at the back which was good for viewing.

    It is fun

The cruise up the river was nice, but our favourite part was actually one of the staff on land - Ryan. He was delightful and kept us entertained while we waited for our boat to arrive. We were big fans and we wish his mam all the best for the wedding!

Commentary was good. Boats a bit old. Friendly staff

  • 4Mulder M. 1 year ago
Had a good time on the river lots of things to see and our Captain was very knowledgeable about the area and the history of Melbourne. There's lots of bridges that are very low so mind your head if you value it. The boat itself has plenty of seating. All in all an hour well spent. Recommended. See photos.

The up river trip was a little dull - Williamstown was more interesting. Nice views, but could hardly hear the commentary over noisy tourists.

  • 3Ben and Stella T. 2 years ago
Great tourist tour of the Yarra river with an abundance of information and history on the famous Yarra River entwined amongst the city and its suburbs. Boat was abut run down though and a very disappointing experience was sitting on the back deck enjoying a smoke free experience until the staff decided on having a cigarette and unknowingly it was hitting me in the face. It really put a dampener on the experience.

Funny tour driver if you are a typical Australian... Minus 2 stars for low quality speaker system making it hard to hear him

  • 3BOB V. 1 year ago
After about 10 minutes or so the scenery turns industrial until you reach Williamstown. Unless you want to go to Williamstown I would skip this tour.

Melbourne River Cruise - Yarra Princess ⭐️⭐️⭐️ A choice of one or two hour sightseeing cruise. We took the two that took us all the way out to Williamstown and back. Complimentary coffee, tea are offered. As well as water $3, beer & wine for $8 can be purchased cash only. No food for sale. Light commentary by the staff. Most of the seating, non assigned, is covered but there is a small back deck to sit or stand outside. There are many offering from dinner cruises or holiday. This is an enjoyable change of pace to see the Melbourne skyscrapers.

An okay experience. Just a casual relaxed cruise. Nothing fancy.

  • 2Annalisa L. 1 year ago
Nothing special, waste of money! I suggest to visit the city by walk!

offers tickets to be won via Maccas' Monopoly only that they make it virtually impossible to claim. who keeps the little Maccas tickets when you've already got the win in your mobile app? 2 winning tickets thrown in the bin. thanks guys.

  • 1Matt G. 1 year ago
Started at Williamstown the boat arrived 25 minutes late.. there was no commentary as previously mentioned.. we were scheduled to come back leaving at 3.00pm from Southbank, we arrived at 2.45pm to be told the boat had left, "go catch the competitors boat or catch a trian" no attempt was made to call the staff on the boat.. we did receive a full refund. Not good enough. Good luck if your a tourist..

Extremely poor way of organising things. Over 50 people with kids are waiting under the blistering sun next to an empty boat for over 40 minutes while captain is apparently having lunch. Tickets system is ancient and confusing. Total lack of signs. Hard to believe that it is private enterprise as even Melbourne public transport is light years ahead in every aspect.
