Beautiful park with a child friendly cafe and modern playground to keep your children busy. It is a wonderful atmosphere where the children are playing and the parents talking among each other whilst a slight breeze rustles the leaves making them fall to the freshly cut green grass. With autumn coming to an end, it is rare to feel the warm air and the beams of sunlight glowing on my skin.

Great park for hanging out and watching so many dogs, possums and humans. I come here to take a quick break and enjoy the nature and just next to the Icon, MCG! There is off leash area for dogs here so makes great dog friendly park ( it is only the quarter section which is in between the Wellington Parade and Hoodle st side ). Lots of summer events happens here including outdoor cinemas and tuff muddler !

THE park that wraps around more than two third of our iconic MCG. Good to do a leisurely walk during the day rather than doing a linear walk with throngs of ppl for a game. More open spaces here for fitness pursuits & walking dogs (off leash areas are marked). I was more interested in some of the period homes along the fringes!

If you're lucky you can see a brushtail possum swinging from the trees! After a game at the MCG, it would be nice to have at least a section of this park lit up more substantially, for the fans who like to kick the footy around.

Love our walk today with family and there's a little playground for your kids. absolutely big place to walk your dog as we saw many friendly fur-babies today. Ride a bike, scooter riding, run/jogging, alot of trees 🌳 for shade and resting. there alot of chairs and tables too around. Absolutely beautiful today.. Such a clean area.

A gorgeous spacious park which I really love having with a reactive dog. Enough space to explore without having to stress about other dogs. PERFECT spot for a picnic too. It’s generally my go to spot to have a Bissel B picnic with their famous 🥯🥯 :)

It's like big picnic spot. Last year , we went here to see the fireworks on New Year. Being of an Indian origin, fireworks take place on a large scale and also it's an integral part of the Indian festivals. What I found attractive was that there were so many people of different race, colour, creed all assembled there to view this beautiful fireworks from a distance. I remember the bats that were flying out in scores was creating a silent furore in the hearts of many fearing a stampede but all was clear soon and the picnic was in motion. Unique picnic baskets that opened up like mats. Glow chain and belts all came up as it got dark. The fireworks over and all silently dispersed in lines to stations. The trains were also arranged for dispersal. It was all really nice. Enjoyed every moment of it.

I’ve closed many rings because of this park, non stop-power walking. I’ll even do laps of the ‘G’, which is almost 1k. You’ll feel ‘so’ Melbourne. Recommend.

Day out to the AFL Footy Festival with the Grandkids. Fantastic day, lots of different activities and attractions for all of the family. Lots of different Food Trucks. Yarra Park is a great venue for this type of activity. Is also great just to walk around MCG, and a day in the park for a picnic or a kick of the footy

Yarra Park is a green oasis in the heart of Melbourne, boasting lush greenery and leafy trees that provide a serene escape from the urban hustle. The ease of access, whether by public transport or other means, adds to its charm, making it a convenient and delightful destination for all. With stunning views of the city skyline, Yarra Park offers a picturesque backdrop for a leisurely stroll or a relaxing day out. Its close proximity to various parts of the city makes it a perfect retreat for both locals and visitors seeking tranquility amid nature. It's a fantastic location to take the kids out for a picnic with playgrounds available. Overall a gorgeous location to enjoy the city yet enjoy mother nature in all its glory.

Great area for parking at the cricket. Well maintained area, nice to lay on the grass under a tree on hot day, great for family picnic

Lots of open ground and a well maintained park where the grass is green even in the hot season. Good for dogs, however, there are no water spouts and even if you find one it doesn't have a dog bowl like you seeing other parks. Also, very few bins around. MCG area only has bins for recyclables.

I love Yarra Park,a great place to let your dog off lead and if you have a reactive dog it's easy to find a space all to yourself to let them run and play

  • 5/5 Tom M. 3 years ago on Google
Great park for dog walking. Don't worry about the "on leash only" signs. I've been walking my dog off leash here for years and as long as you clean up after your dog, nobody minds!

Great open grounds to bring your dog off lead. Only downside are some entitled dog owners who get angry that your dog is off lead in an off lead area… smh . That and dog gastro…

Lovely leafy park with accessible walk /path ways and excellent an location for a variety of events. Grassy areas can get a bit soggy in the wetter months however

What a great space, iconic sports ground in its centre with the Melbourne Cricket Ground, colloquial known as the MCG, now simply the Gee! There are sporting statues to magnificent Elm trees. Oh and then there is the tennis centre with Rod Laver Arena its centre jewell. A must see park if visiting Melbourne.

Very weird, almost surplus to requirements, a park in the inner city which is so large and underutilised that it can hardly be called a park at all, unless the footy is on, when it is probably the best park in the city, for cars. A terrific stalemate between old world planning, a council which sees no reason to stop, and a large open grass field which seems to reappear every Monday completely unperturbed

parking! omg if I could give this place zero I would beautiful Park, but for parking I pre-ordered event day parking, and I could not find the parking. I’m from the country so myself and anyone who is not from around Melbourne. Good luck better off parking elsewhere for the football.

Easy, cheap ($10) and convenient parking for Women’s World Cup matches. Close regardless of the gate you choose but Brunton Ave (gate 7) car park the closest to the AAMI park. Walk the footbridge straight from MCG concourse to AAMI park concourse. Easy.

A really huge park. I usually go there for the new year celebration for families. A nice event for families. Many food trucks, music performances, movie screens for kids. And around 9:30 pm the fireworks start for ten minutes. It is so crowded by then. I usually wait for an hour before leaving the place as everyone leaves when the fireworks end.
