Had a wonderful day out. Easy to park but could imagine it could get busy. Had a walk around the lake. My 5 year old managed it great and it was beautiful. Wouldn't do it if we had rain, the path goes to grass on parts and could imagine it could be difficult. We had lunch in the cafe and it was delicious. Don't have a kids menu but they were happy to adapt anything. The afternoon tea looked lovely as I stared at them delivering it to another couple (must pre book). They followed covid rules well and stopped lots of people coming in till they were ready. Would definitely go again. The gardens opened at 1pm and was £17 for 2 adults and 2 children over 5. Or £6 for an adult. So family worked out well for the price. Beautiful......so stunning and lots of little cut aways and walk ways you can go. Kids loved exploring. There are lots of fountains and pools so just watch the really little ones. There is a small animal area with pigs, goats, alpacas, chickens and a tiny horse named Isla, who my daughter fell in love with and the girls who were mucking out were really polite and friendly and told us about Isla. Thankyou but now my daughter wants a pony!!! 😆 Overall a really great day out with or without kids and could bring a picnic to keep the cost down. Will definitely come back for a wander without the kids so I can spend time looking at the plants and flowers. Although we did have fun smelling the different stunning roses next to the wall near the tree walkway.

A beautiful lake to walk around and feed the ducks with access to a woodland pathway, dogs must be kept on a lead. The hall, gardens and cafe are temporarily closed. There are other small businesses in the court yard. A place to get a hot drink and snack with outside seating, a wine shop, leather goods, plants, a charity shop and a real ale pub. Some of the little shops were closed. There is a small amount of parking at the side of the church.

Lovely old village with a nice lake to walk round. Can get food and drink in the hall grounds plus one or two shops, but to go round the gardens when open costs £10 each, too much for us I'm afraid.

Delightful gardens, a really pleasant place to wander and take in the ambiance , the sun was shining and we enjoyed a slice of cake and a coffee at the tea rooms, and the village of Melbourne is worth a wander around as well.

The gardens inside the wall are stunning at this time of year. You get the traditional vistas across the lawns towards the historic bird cage pergola. Multiple views led down hedges laid out in the French style and more recent planting of younger trees under planted with a delicate meadow. The best part is the water garden with different colour combinations lining each stream. Outside is one of the most stunning lakes I’ve seen and a micro brewery in a courtyard along with a wine shop and antiques. What’s not to love? Cafe was closed when I went as was half of the village! The garden is free for RHS and does Gardener’s World 241. If you love gardens it’s definitely worth a visit.

A hidden gem. By the church in the village of Melbourne you’ll find an entrance into a grassy courtyard with bench/tables. There’s an independent craft beer bar that has been crafted from some old horse stables. When it’s cold you sit inside the horse stalls… when it’s warm… outside in the courtyard. The beers, craft lagers, IPAs and ciders change regularly to different non-mainstream UK brands… and the owners take great pride in the quality of each serving. The bar also does some very good bar food… pizzas and Italian tapas. If you visit on a Wednesday in the summer you’ll also be treated to a variety of pop-up food bars in the courtyard. You can’t go wrong here. But get there early… there’s no table reservations and it’s very popular with the locals… always a good sign.

Fabulous venue, a sort of large open sided tent for performances. Take a cushion and a blanket on cold nights. Ticketing and seating arrangements leave a lot to be desired, completely disorganised.

This was a fantastic experience. My wife surprised me with a trip to Melbourne hall gardens. Not to walk around but to go to watch back to the future in an outdoor cinema. It had an American style BBQ and bar, the bar was quite expensive though. The ground looked lovely and unfortunately we were not able to look around due to the time of day but we will definitely visit as they looked spectacular. I know they don't do the cinema events often but if they do. Go

Plesent walk around the pool, nice cafe and shops on site, the food we had in the cafe was very good, there is a small car park which was full so parked on street.

A beautiful place to visit and maybe feed the ducks? Lovey old buildings and lake with gorgeous surrounding countryside.

We watched Pretty Women here the other night, and if you haven't been to one of these events, then watch out for them. They are a lot of fun... just remember to take a jumper/coat, blanket, and picnic with your camping chair! The temperature really drops at night. There were a few kiosks dotted about selling burgers, hotdogs, and vegan food, as well as hot and cold beverages. They also had a shop set up selling blankets for those that forgot, I think, for around £20! It did state limited disabled parking, but there were plenty of spaces available. The walk to where the platform was set up was on a footpath, although it was at a bit of an incline, just a heads up for those with breathing difficulties or walking aids! It is a gentle one and is doable. It's wheelchair friendly. There were toilets set up that were accessible as well!

Really lovely formal gardens, with topiary hedging, water features, and seasonal beds. To the rear there are animal enclosures that children (and adults!) would enjoy. I felt it was a bit pricey at £10, considering the size, but I suppose that's the cost of living crisis! Near the gardens are a range of boutique shops as well as cafes and a wine cellar.

A very pleasant day out although not a great deal of colour at this time of year. Very well maintained parkland/lawned areas provide pleasant walking amongst some amazing trees and water features. Several options exist for a variety of refreshments with outdoor seating to enjoy good weather conditions

We went for a Just The Tonic Comedy Shindig show in the walled garden and had a great time. The food and drink vendor set up is different from last year, but the staff are still friendly and helpful. Take a coat if you are going to a comedy show later in the summer - it still gets cold!

Went to a comedy night held in the walled Gardens. Absolutely beautiful. Will definitely be going back to visit the gardens and shops in the courtyard.

The most stunning venue for our wedding earlier this year. Incredible staff and everyone was so welcoming. We will definitely be back in the Taphouse for a drink soon :)

Great place to visit. Gardens professionally maintained with many vistas. This picture is part of the Millrace. Included is a small area with sheep and goats, ponies, and characterful pigs that appreciate attention. Children can spend time here. *Attention to the threshold at the kiosk needs levelling for wheelchairs . This really is a must.* Otherwise, it is highly recommended.

Nice gardens and hall to visit, and a great pub across the road for lunch

I didn't actually go around the gardens, but I did do the circular walk around Melbourne pool. Lovely walk, very scenic and tranquil. The only noise was from the occasional aircraft going into East Midlands Airport, but it didn't spoil the walk.

Always popular for a gentle walk around Melbourne pool. Don't miss the craft shops these are always interesting. They have a nice cafe there now where you can drink your coffee outside.
