I would not recommend this gym for anyone Latino or with. Disability as it’s clear the owner has no idea how to communicate with either. I sent the owner an email following up his treatment of me during the class he explained he didn’t like my attitude and I am “welcome to further explain my disability to him” When I replied to him respectfully, clearly outlining my disability, he responded to me with a lengthy email full of offensive sarcastic comments including: “It is abundantly clear from your emails that you are missing the point.” “You, like all other members, were never treated in any discriminative or disadvantaged way so despite sustaining the unfortunate injury victimising yourself is completely of this topic and unnecessary. “ He has since cancelled my membership, he claims it was due to my attitude and “raising my voice” ,I never swore, threatened or was violent I simply used a tone with Pedge when I said “I’m not asking you to change the class, I have a disability” in response to him walking away from me saying “I can’t change the class for everyone” Lastly, ironically coming from a trainer who is bilingual himself . . . I’m not that confident using martial arts language in English, when I would try in the past to explain and clarify things due to a language difference he would ridicule me and be condescending. He claims they “have bilingual” people in the gym, i can confirm that there are definitely no Latinos in the gym so maybe he just doesn’t like Latin people, I’m not sure but he treated me very bad when I would try to clarify the language he was using e.g the names of kicks and punches, I’d even try to directly translate the names from Spanish and he would just ridicule me. Pedge is racist and discriminative and delayed cancelling my direct deposit for a service he refuses to provide based on my abilities. Aside from that, I’m not sure he actually has any fight experience in kickbox or Thai boxing but he seems to think that the round-house kick is the only kick that exists, he is knowledgeable in classic boxing but has no idea how to adapt the styles and criticizes techniques that even top ufc fighters used.

I've been living in Melbourne for last 6 years and this is the second time I faced racism. After doing a bit of research on different gyms, I went to this gym with a lot of enthusiasm and a big smile on my face. As soon as I walked in, the trainer (bald Caucasian male) felt really uncomfortable just by seeing me and kept yelling, "What do you want? Why are you here?" I politely replied that I was interested to start boxing. He kept looking at me from head to toe with a smirk and said, "It's not for you, if you need any information check the website!" I was absolutely disheartened after this response and seeing how disturbed he felt with my presence. Hopefully I can turn this experience as a positive push to get better at my fitness journey. If you are not a short brown guy you may be good to go or maybe not haha. Don't let criticism push you down, it's all comes together to create our life. Good luck heroes.

I would like to give 2.4 instead of full 3 but google doesn’t allow me to split a star so let’s say 3 Pro. - The coach gives trainees accurate advices on how to improve skills - He does not expect trainees to learn by acting, instead he wants trainees to understand mechanisms before execution - The training session is demanding not only physically but also mentally as the coach’s instructions are specific and his expectation is somewhat overwhelming for beginners - It could be a good motivation for some trainees - Facilities/floor/change room are well maintained with good hygiene Cons - As many of the previous reviewers have stated the head coach is socially inapt - ignorant, aggressive and insecure; easily became hostile/sarcastic to trainees for small mistakes and extremely unforgiving to them; he is more suitable to online masterclass instructor rather than any type of in-person business entrepreneur; - the gym is located at a bit remote area of CBD Again, and most importantly the coach does not know how to return respect you deserve unless you earn it on top of your monthly fee. If you have a main job and you want to learn combat skills as hobby you have a wide range of selection that could better compensate your money and time. To make a long story short, 1. As a combat sport expert you can easily tell the coach is very capable and disciplined. 2. As a coach he can give you good advice and provide you well maintained training environment but poorly motivating trainees, if not discouraging them - mixed 3. As a service provider he only knows how to humiliate the reviewers giving him one star on google map Note to the coach: Please don’t start your conspiracy theory if you have doubt on my experience.

If you are looking for a gym to train whether a fighter or beginner this is likely not the place nor would it be a good example of what a real gym is like. Put an enquiry for me and a friend literally the guy was super arrogant. The guy literally said to me on the phone: 1. Tell me your history 2. "If you're from another gym you can't join unless you have the intention to fight because people that come from other gyms don't like to listen to our instructions" Seems to be very insecure about the fighting style they teach and seems to lack the friendly environment that most Mauy Thai / boxing gyms tend to have. I've been training for 7 years.

The coach misrepresented the contractual agreement between us. Forced me to pay for sessions after he told me I would not have to pay for them. His communication skills are very poor. His methods of teaching were very unconventional.

If you're serious about becoming an awesome fighter, look no further and go check out Prestige gym. I spent three months training with head coach Pedge while I was temporarily in Melbourne and my boxing improved beyond my expectations. You also get to train and spar with amazing fighters who are disciplined, ambitious and supportive of each other. Best gym in Melbourne!

I've been training here for just over a year now. Trainer is very serious about what he is teaching and is very straight forward, some might say blunt. If you need someone to hold your hand and stroke your ego, this is not the gym for you. If you want to be the best you can be in the ring and in training, this is it. Trainer is very experienced and tries really hard to share his knowledge. It's a fight gym, not a social ground. Although, I have made plenty of friends in my time here which I am very grateful for.

Highly recommended. I've been taking private lessons from Pedge for a few months now and my boxing has improved dramatically. The training is serious, very technical, and will test you, but the results are easy to see. The facilities are clean and very well maintained, and the pricing is probably the best I've seen in the Melbourne area, which is surprising given the high quality of the coaching.

As an exchange student I was only in Melbourne for a couple months. Yet, Prestige gym and its coach welcomed me with open arms. The training sessions are given by a professional and passionate coach who will train and push you to get the best out of yourself and learn the sport in the most professional way I have ever experienced. Besides, everyone is respectful towards each other, the sport and the coach and therefore the spirit in the gym is truly amazing. If you are serious about the sport and looking for a professional gym, Prestige Gym is your place to be!

Prestige is one of those places you want to go to train if you’re pretty serious about improving your skills and technique with an honestly genuine guide. I have been to a few places around the traps and this is not for those who wish to remain faint hearted about training. I always had it clearly defined to me that I was a partner in my own development and needed to be really present to benefit. The Head trainer I trained with who was a seasoned professional fighter with international standing, imparted his experience and personal knowledge very clearly and concisely. He communicated directly, to the point and it was always a focus on training. The Head Trainer as well as everyone I ever crossed paths with was always respectful and dedicated to the sport. It was a real eye opener just how much work and dedication goes into this. I never felt forced to do anything and was always supported in how far I wanted to go or what I wanted to work on. ‘Prestige is a place for anyone who is serious about training.’

Perhaps the best gym to go to if you if you're all about improving your combat game in addition to your discipline, self-control, sense-of-self and perseverance. I believe the knowledge being passed on in this gym are like golden nuggets if you're willing to adapt the appropriate learning mindset. The facilities are good, and the people are quite welcoming. I know people who trained at other gyms and honestly I think I progressed a lot better learning here.

Always professional and patient, extremely knowledgable and teaches a very effective style. Gym was always clean and tidy. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Quite simply the best boxing gym I've found in Melbourne. I've tried a few different places out since moving down but nothing can compete with the knowledge, training or atmosphere thats provided here. The head trainer not only teaches you the skills needed for the sport but explains the mechanics of it so you can understand and improve quicker.

It's rare these days to find a real fight gym as opposed to boxfit or boxercise. My favourite part of real fight gyms is that it's all about the fight family community and helping each other out- even when you're from another gym from another state! I was visiting Melbourne for a week and enquired about a trial session and Pedge (head coach) got back to me and allowed me to train for a whole week! He, and everyone else welcomed me in and treated me like one of their own. I honestly recommend Prestige Gym- great trainer, great members, great location and facilities and definitely a great atmosphere. So if you're in Melbourne, definitely check it out!!

Best boxing gym in Melbourne by a long, long way. The atmosphere is great, everyone is focused and determined, but Pedge is what makes Prestige stand out. He is an incredible trainer, very straightforward, serious, and really wants to see his students succeed. My footwork has come leaps and bounds in the few months I trained here, and continues to do so as I practice what I've been taught over and over again. The gym is home to some serious talent too. Pedge is a phenomenal teacher, and despite his no-bs attitude he is a very friendly person and has fun at times. I miss Prestige already. Thank you for your help.

Surprised there's not more negative reviews here. I would not recommend going to this gym. Coach's knowledge is pretty good but his training style is awful. There's way better gyms in Melbourne to learn good technique and you'll actually have a good time doing it. Gym smells particularly bad too, like the mats haven't been replaced in a decade. BTW owner will probably reply saying he doesn't recognise my name like seems to do to all negative reviews.

As someone with no prior boxing experience, I was looking to start training and I trialed three different boxing gyms. Prestige Gym stood out as the one most focused on solid fundamentals and building correct technique, as opposed to boxercise classes. After having trained for a few months now, I’m very happy with my choice and am looking forward to continuing to progress with the help of head coach Pedge. Further, Pedge has built a real team environment at the gym. As a complete beginner I found the more experienced students friendly, patient and helpful which is a big plus.

Called up to enquire about training and sparring, and I have been training for a few years. All I wanted to do is level up and learn some skills. That's it. Was told point blank I could not attend the gym because I had gone to another Muay Thai Gym in Melbourne and this is unfair to their fighters? No where on the website does it talk about gym exclusively.

I have not experienced technical striking coaching to the level of detail Pedge offers every session. He clearly cares and is invested in improving his students (all of them, not just the top fighters). From reading other reviews here, this can come across the wrong way, but I believe intentions are good - he's just very passionate and communicates in a specific way. This is a serious gym recommended for those open to listening, learning, and improving their technical skills.

Excellent atmosphere to learn all the technical aspects of boxing as well as kickboxing/Thai boxing. The head trainer Pedge is very knowledgeable in his craft and explains technique in a clear but detailed manner. The gym is full of welcoming and encouraging members plus well looked after facilities with showers + lockers. Loved my time at Prestige Gym Melbourne and encourage others to try it out, a proper fighters gym.

I have been pleasantly surprised by how quickly training at Prestige has improved my boxing. Having trained for a number of years, I can say that the coaching is high level, technical and tailored to whatever your ability is. The coach is invested in his students' continual improvement, and it shows in their quality. I like that there are plenty of classes to suit a busy and unpredictable schedule. Classes strike a good balance of learning, fitness and fun. Would recommend!

I've been training at Prestige for nearly three years now and I could never see myself training anywhere else. Pedg is a great trainer, who is clearly passionate about what he teaches, and has the experience and ring intelligence to match. He's serious about the sport, and takes a no nonsense approach which I really appreciate. Which isn't to say training isn't fun - we always have a great time, and a few laughs along the way, but it's a disciplined club for fighters who want to be the best they can be. Every one at the club is super friendly, and there are no egos, even from the top fighters - we all strive to help each other get better and overcome our weak spots. If you're looking to get into the fight game and want to build your skills from the ground up, this is the place. The Basics (boxing are the classes I take) class teaches everything you need to know about footwork, the mechanics of punching, and more importantly, the art of of defense. This isn't a club where you get thrown in a ring and learn by getting beat on, you work up to sparring in a safe way, only moving from Basics, to the Advanced Class to Beginner Sparring to Competition when you're ready. Truly, what you put in at Prestige, is what you get out. If you put in the time, and the effort, you will reach your goals.

One of the best sport and human experience I ever had. I trained for about a year and a half in this gym. I started as a complete beginner. I learned how to fight but I grew as a person as well. I believe it is one of the best gym in the Melbourne area in terms of fighting and teaching. It is a real fighting gym, with excellence and performance as a target but you learnt how to achieve it, step by step. The coach, Pedge, is very knowledgeable and skilled. Although demanding and strict, he is very openminded and reliable. This gym is was for me as much a fighting gym as a school of life. Thank you very much Prestige gym, and Thank you Pedge, I will continue on the path you showed me, and will hopefully find a gym as good as this one back in Europe!!

I've attended Prestige Gym for a few months in 2020 (the few months there were no lockdowns!). Pedge is an amazing trainer who not only helps you learn the required movements, but will also explain the bio-mechanics and science behind everything he teaches. He shows genuine interest in each of his students and gives tailored instructions to ensure you are on the right path. The gym's presentation is exceptional and professional - everything is clean and well maintained. The culture is also good - there is no ego and all the students are pleasant and there to learn. All in all, this is the best place to go if you are interested in learning fundamentals-based, technical boxing, with a head coach who knows his stuff at a great location and with a great atmosphere.

I've been a part of Prestige Gym since Jan 2020. The coach is not only extremely knowledgeable but also an elite fighter himself. He practices what he preaches and is damn good at it. He gives instruction tailored to what each individual needs and makes sure you improve every day. Can't ask for anything more. The facilities are clean and well maintained, the people are good natured and there to learn, lots of flexibility in the timetable and convenient location. I'd easily pay double what is asked but I'm not complaining! Training here is one of the things I look forward to the most. Great gym and grateful to be part of it

I was incredibly lucky to find Prestige Gym when in Melbourne. Pedge is incredible at picking up on individuals strengths and weaknesses, and his guidance is specific, helpful and tailored to each individual taking part in the class. I always left the class with full knowledge of what I needed to work on, and very clear, actionable instruction on how to improve. He is an excellent teacher, with incredible observation skills and such a wealth of experience and knowledge. I consider myself very lucky to have had his guidance. Although boxing is excellent for fitness, I would describe Pedge's approach to training as being very technique and form focused, with strength and fitness being a happy by-product. If you are interested in learning the "sweet science" of boxing, then Prestige is definitely the gym for you. As for the environment, Prestige is a very safe, respectful, and down to earth place to train. I found the other students to be very focused, kind, and helpful towards each other. This safe and focused environment is a testament to Pedge and his efforts over the years. On top of all this, membership is also incredibly affordable. Can't recommend more.

I've been training some form of martial arts for most of my adult life and Pedge is hands down the best Striking coach I've had. He has a straightforward, no-nonsense attitude and always looks out for his students (regardless of level). You will get 10 times more attention from Pedge than the vast majority of Boxing/Muay Thai coaches out there. Melbourne is very lucky to have a gym like this!

Fantastic Gym Real Boxing Gym. If you want to really learn, REALLY learn how to learn the sport of boxing and kickboxing (and not boxercise/get fit type) This is the place, no doubt. You will learn the intricacies of the boxing, starting from the small details, from the ground up. This is what sets Prestige Gym away from other gyms where Pedge explains everything in detail and equips you the 'tools' for you to learn (as oppose to other gyms where you are grouped in a big class and not shown the proper way, unless you pay for a private session). From there, like all things, its up to you to analyze and practice. I might add, the vibe is slightly more serious (than boxercise type gyms) as the members are quite focused on improving. However, everyone is friendly and always willing to help (especially if you are new, like I was). You just have to not be intimidated, ask and speak out! Ignore the negative reviews written here (I've been training there 6 months its nothing like what they have written). If you are serious on learning how to box, Prestige Gym is the place.

After being recommended to Prestige Gym by a friend, I found that the coach Pedge very helpful and willing to take time to talk one on one to explain something if I was struggling. As I beginner I was unsure and unconfident going in but found all my worries alleviated quickly into the first class. Would highly recommend to any begginers in the same boat as me looking to learn the fundamental techniques required to become a trained boxer.

I agree with the sentiments expressed by many others regarding the trainer. His demeanor is consistently rude and self-centered, displaying toxic behaviors that border on extreme unprofessionalism. This gym appears to be a suitable choice only if you find satisfaction in being addressed in a demeaning manner. Personally, I advocate for a more compassionate and respectful approach, one that doesn’t involve subjecting clients to extreme verbal abuse. I see this establishment as one that encourages toxic masculinity and a lack of kindness. I strongly recommend avoiding it at all costs.

I did a short tour of every boxing gym in melbourne before picking Prestige. The training is rigorous, tough, and builds champions. It isn't a fitness gym. It's a gym filled with passion for the sport and its technicalities. The coach is filled with knowledge and experience that he uses to guide you in the sport. His attention to detail will keep your technique tuned. fundamentals are key. The teammates are also all great to train with. Good people. the atmosphere is serious but fun.
