Joined the free walking tour hosted by Sunni today. I am a Melbournian, but there was still things I learnt today. Always nice to explore your home city. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water/snacks. Tour lasts 2.5 hrs with a 10min toliet break in the middle. Sunni was friendly and offered lots of recommendations of things to do or where to eat. Some places I have been too before and recommened. She was very knowledgeable of the city.

Enjoyed an informative tour around Melbourne CBD. Saw numerous heritage sites and learnt a little of their history. It did rain on our tour, so take an umbrella if rain is forecasted. Highly recommend doing a tour.

Had an amazing afternoon touring Melbourne. The tour was led by Andreas who was awesome, full of jokes and made the tour all the more interesting with his banter. I would highly recommend this for all tourists and visitors to Melbourne. It is such a great way of discovering Melbourne and the rich history behind the city from locals who are well-versed in the area. Nice and quick way of touring especially if you're time restricted and if you're not you'll know where the places are and can visit them individually in your own time. Advice: 1) Wear comfortable walking shoes - tour is all walking and can take upto 3 hours. 2) Write out the different suggestions and tips for places to eat and for drinks that are given during the tour. 3) Try mingle with the group - you meet amazing people from different places and walks of life. 4) Tour guides know the area quite well so ask any questions you may have. 5) Don't forget to ENJOY!! Take a camera to capture the amazing streets, laneways, buildings, gardens and attractions.

Lenny was the most amazing and attractive tour guide ;) But serious: it was really fun exploring Melbourne with him. I even joint a second tour that day because he made it so entertaining. He was great explaining and giving tips for nice places to eat and coffee. He really made my day Thanks to all the other tour guys too! You guys are great. Looking forward to see Sydney with you

Our hotel gave us a free map of Melbourne. On this map was a description of the I'm free walking tours. We reserved our spot online, and we met our guide at the appointed meeting point. There were 3 guides at the rendezvous point, and we were divided into 3 groups. Our leader was Sam. He was exceptional. Great local knowledge. He pointed out which venues offered free tours onsight. And those which offered tours for a fee. He kept us safe as he guided us around this beautiful city. The tour really is free. There is zero pressure to offer a stipend. You decide at the end d of the tour what to pay whatever you feel is appropriate.

I always like walking tours like this, and hence joined both the free walking tours with them. The booking was easy, with immediate confirmation that contains all easy and necessary information. Everything was so professionally organised. The Melbourne Sights tour was really interesting! Covered a wide area, with historical and modern stories! Our tour guide Sam was really smooth in providing all the information and stories. He is really friendly and professional. It was a big tour (30 ppl maybe?) - but Sam handled us well. Would prefer smaller group, but with this big group the entire tour was very well done! Love the last stop where we can see a nice skyline of the city along the river. The Culture Capital tour was shorter, but also with good fun stories. Both tours are highly recommended!

Really enjoy the time with the other travels who come from all around the world. Thank you for our guide today and I am sorry I don't know how to spell your name, Wish the organization can go more stronger and greater! Cheers🍻

Great tour. Daniel was fantastic. Lots of interesting tidbits learned on the culture tour. Would recommend seeing the library beforehand if that's on your agenda as the tour ends in a different location.

Wonderful! Really one of the best tours I have taken; of course a tour is really only as good as your guide and Desmond (in the green jacket) was a perfect mix of information, entertainment and wit. He spoke at least three languages and engaged with everyone on a personal level. The walk was a good pace with many points of interest and I fully recommend if you want to spend a few hours exploring Melbourne.

I've done the Free Walking Tour in Melbourne twice! Both guides I had were entertaining, friendly, and just balls of joy! They were very enthusiastic in showing you around, and you can be rest assured that they cover it all. It is a great start to your journey in Melbourne, no matter your length of stay. Very very highly recommended. Thank you for all you do guys :)

I've joined the city walking tour that took about 3 hours. The guide was very knowledgeable and entertaing. Though it was a really hot day, he kept talking in a loud voice so everyone can hear and never stopped smiling. Hats off to the guide! You can tip them either cash or credit card. Highly recommended especially if it's your first time to Melbourne.

Fantastic experience in Melbourne. Our family have been traveling with our teenage kids for years now. Today’s 3 hour tour with Lachie was one of the best we’ve ever had. Knowledgeable, entertaining, funny. Hard to imagine a better tour. In fact , all of our 4 tours in Sydney and Melbourne this week have been outstanding. Thumbs up

For reference, I usually hate walking tours but Matt made this a truly wonderful experience! I arrived exhausted and with sore feet on the heels of a Taylor Swift concert in Melbourne, dreading the 3 hour walk I was about to endure. However, Matt’s charisma, charm and theatrical flare made for an engaging, funny and educational tour. I felt like I was on a journey through the history of Melbourne with unexpected twists, turns and laughs. He is truly the perfect person for this job and I feel so lucky to have spent the morning walking through Melbourne with him. Have fun at the Eras Tour Matt, you’re the best 🫶🏻

This is highly recommended for everybody as you get to wander around Melbourn, get general knowledge of the area and also learn some history and not forgetting FUN FACTS!! Had a super fun time exploring Melbourne with Lachie as our guide. His energy is really abundance and made the tour so much more interesting… just simply love his energy and feel his enthusiasm for his Melbourne. Made me love Melbourne as we get to experience Melbourne through him.

I’ve been on walking tours before, and our group leader Matthew is the best of the best! He is excited, animated, interesting, funny, and projects very well! He more than earned his tip, and I only wish I could have given him more! I never would have gotten so much out of my visit if it wasn’t for him!

An absolutely amazing walking tour of Melbourne today led by Rob. I wanted to show my international visitors the city I love and now call home but didn't know how to go about it. This walking tour gave us the opportunity to see all the highlights and hear a lot of history in the shortest amount of time. Rob was full of great facts and I would highly recommend it to locals as well as visitors. I learned heaps!

This is a beyond 5 stars experience! It was so organised and very well coordinated. My guide, Matthew was phenomenal. The way he delivered the history and his story telling skills is out of this world. Super useful that he got a theatre background and he’s very dramatic. I LOVE IT SO MUCH. I also love how they are very intentional with the narrative to acknowledge the dark history of Australia colonisation and they also emphasis respect and role of Indigenous People in the creation and development of Melbourne. He manage the crowd well and have great people skills. He was also very adaptable to the weather (it was super hot that day and he always ensure we stay under the shade) and on lookout for rest stops along the way. I must also mention that their model of “pay as you wish” is really allow equitable access to the tour. I come from Malaysia - so everything in Australia feels very expensive and unaffordable to me 😭 but this tour really allow me to participate. Please pay them well if you can afford it. Highly recommend it.

First time in Melbourne (and in Australia) and I did BOTH tours, the Melbourne sightseeing one and the Culture Capital One. I got Laura for the sightseeing one, and she told us a lot of the history too, with some cheeky jokes thrown here and there. Loved my experience so much I joined for the Culture Capital one, where our guide Andreas brought us through alleyways with some amazing insights too, like the first coffee roaster place in Melbourne or great street arts NOT located on Hosier Lane This tour system is based on tip on what you think they deserve at the end of the tour. Trust me, it's worth it

For our first trip to Australia, my sister and I came to Melbourne with few expectations. On arriving, we walked blindly around the city but felt overwhelmed by all Melbourne had to offer. The next morning we found I’m Free Walking Tours online and joined the 10:30am group. Our tour guide Lenny was a local university grad student with high charisma and expansive knowledge on the history, culture, and lifestyle of Melbournians! A fantastic story teller and genuinely helpful guide, Lenny conveyed a deep love and connection with his city. Each of the stops held significant historical and cultural meaning that is so special to Melbourne. We left the tour with a long list restaurants, bars, and must-see sites throughout the city that set the tone for the rest of our trip. Thank you, I’m Free Walking Tours, for helping us fall in love with this new place!

Everyone who visits Melbourne should do the walking tour to start. It highlights places that are worth visiting, so that you can plan to visit them during your stay in Melbourne. Their tour guides are mostly well educated and enthusiastic local young adults who want to share what they know about the city with tourists. Our tour guide Niamh is a gem. She was super passionate, knowledgeable and nice. From her, we learned so much about Melbourne and fun facts of Australia. She also generously shared information on how to save money on various things such as “ticks at six” where you get cheap last minute tickets to performance at the Arts Centre, download “Eatclub” to save on meals at restaurants that are not busy and willing to slash their price...etc. She is such a great ambassador for the city! Way to go, Niamh, we wish you the best!!!

Took the Melbourne Sights Tour in February 2020. Our guide Jessie was engaging, eloquent and informative and it was a surprise to learn that this was only her tenth tour. I am a local but still found the experience to be educational and enjoyable. At all points Jessie was able to bring the history of Melbourne to life and we left with renewed knowledge and enthusiasm for the city.

Had a fantastic tour today with the amazing Laura. Got shown all the main sites that Melbourne has to offer and a special scenic view of the skyline of the city. Even though we had all 4 season in today's tour Laura kept our spirits high with all her Dad jokes, which were many haha, and kept the group moving at a great pace making sure we wouldn't miss anything in our small amount do time we had with her. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone new to the city or are wanting to see all the sites. Will be going on the second tour this group offers to see all the street art and the other parts not covered in our short tour of the city.

Thanks you guys for the tour. Great 2-2.5 hrs walk. The best to know and see Melbourne CBD. Knowledgeable, fun and friendly. We even took our pup along.

We are a family with 1 baby in a carrier. Entire walk was not too tiring and plenty of shade in our pit stops. We had the pleasure of having Andreas as our tour guide yesterday. He was funny, energetic and patient with us as we were always the last bunch behind. I found that really helpful especially with a baby in tow. Tour booking was seamlessly done online with a few clicks and we were ready to go. They still allow walk ins but it would be best to book ahead. We learned a lot of Melbourne history during our tour and they were interesting enough for us to want to learn more about it when we got home. I would definitely recommend others to join this walking tour.

Tom was our guide and it was one of the best tours I had in a while. Tom was very engaging and friendly, the tour was full of sights but also practical information (... and bad jokes :D). I really enjoyed this 3 (!) hour long experience and I can only recommend this tour and especially Tom!

I've used this Company twice before when visiting Melbourne. Guide very informative and knowledgeable - a lovely young man and so many places of interest. The tour lasted two and a half hours with a small break in between wear sensible shoes - I'll be back. THANK YOU.

Great free walking tour- “pay what you feel”. Really friendly and well versed guide called Sam who gave interesting and concise insights into the history that created Melbourne. As well as little insights and tips on what to see and how to get around. Would really recommend if you’re wanting to get an over view of the city as a tourist or are new to the city!

What a fantastic tour. Thank you Rob. You were knowledgeable, engaging and funny. I have been to Melbourne many times, it was so nice to know the history of how, why and when certain building and areas were built. Highly recommended.. Looking forward to doing the Sydney tour when I return to my home town... Thank you

The Melbourne Culture tour was great! It was really neat seeing the laneways and all the street art. Lachie was a fun guide!

Rob was a great guide. The tour was interesting and entertaining. Very much enjoyed learning the history and origins of Melbourne, the highlights of the heritage and culture walk, and all the great practical tips on where to eat and get unique local souvenoirs and gifts. If you're interested in melbournian history, art, culture, street art, food and even modern pop culture tidbits then you should do this tour. 3hours of walking the different lanes, with a 10 minute pitstop halfway through the tour so make sure you wear comfortable walking shoes! I think it's great that this tour is free, but I like most people ended up donating money at the end anyway. Definitely do this on your first day to orient yourself and learn which shops to start with on your holiday.

Daniel is the most knowledgeable and funniest tourist guide I have ever met in Melbourne so far. I particularly enjoyed learning about the history behind all those buildings and artwork.

👍👍 Today I visited the smokes and gift shop in the old Craigieburn plaza (Craigieburn road, where on/off ramp is). I was met by two nice young men as I entered the shop, and although they were slow due to just opening and it being 9AM, as soon as I walked in, I felt as though I was being served, focuse...

😠 We have been using this service for years and this time my 5 year old son had a Dr/ Surgeon using the tongue depressor roughly so my son was resisting and he started shouting at my son and us to hold him still. This Dr is unprofessional, I'd think twice on recommending or using this service again i...
