Australian food, Japanese flavour - from the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a cheery "Good morning!" by waiting staff. The food is excellent; relatively simple, but perfectly seasoned. Customer service is top notch, and the weight staff will dissolve into titters if you drop an "arigato" at the counter. Can't recommend strongly enough; will definitely visit again! 美味しいです！

Little place, simple, but serves the best chicken and avocado bagel. Owner is funny and energetic. While waiting for my bagel (prepared fresh on order), I saw some customers that engaged into convo with him. Seems like this cafe's got many serious loyal customers. Would come back again. Lowkey wishing I knew about this place earlier.

Definitely agree the coffee here is amazing! The best I've had in a long time and staff were super friendly! It would be nice to have a bit more of a menu but that's just nitpicking. I will definitely be back thank you

Wow... such a hidden gem at South Melbourne!! I had soy latte which was great, but the highlight of the cafe was Almond milk latte! Absolutely the best almond milk coffee that I've ever had. I can't wait for the next time already. Maybe I'll try their salad too, looks healthy and delicious!

I work nearby and tried a few other cafes in the area and found the coffee at Ground cafe is the best. Buying a coffee from them, having a nice chat with Rami and his friendly staff is the highlight of my day. Fresh salad, nice food, good price. Highly recommended.

Solid suburban cafe w good staples and good coffee. My eggs on smashed avo had a little too much black pepper and salt but was otherwise enjoyable. Good friendly service. Worth visiting when in the area but not a destination cafe.

I've had coffee everywhere, and I mean everywhere but nothing comes even close to their coffee. The best coffee in Melbourne, nay the world. I could say all of these descriptive words but it's just that good all I can say is perfection. The staff are the greatest people on earth, so lovely and instant friends, they take great pride in their service and coffee and it certainly shows! :))

In this little pocket of Sth Melbourne Ground Cafe has become my coffee go to. Owner Remi masterfully delivers a serious brew and I've become a regular weekday visitor to get my fix. Ground Cafe uses San Pedro beans (another Victorian business) which, for me, offers just the right blend of nut, chocolate and berry notes. Open early from Monday to Friday the small team at Ground Cafe are super friendly, always up for a laugh and are serious about offering good coffee. It's worth seeking them out.
