A beautifully designed bar in a prime location in Chapel st. with nice and welcoming staff. Reasonably priced food and drinks. I’m in love with pizzas. Also they recently do a beautiful eggplant wedges. I’m a regular here and absolutely recommend it.

We fancied pizza and picked this place because of the ratings and did no research. They are definitely very cheap at $10 but we got what we paid for. My friend's Easy Cheesy pizza was fine but came with a big edge of crust . My Marinara pizza had minimal seafood and the "prawns" had the texture of mash potatoes - an unique experience for me. Friendly staff and a funky, vintage decor with comfy, old couches and mismatched furniture adding character. Probably good for drinks but a bit disappointing food wise.

The food was great, but not surprised as Melbourne always does good food. The pizzas had a nice thin crispy base, and the toppings didn't slide off. Had potato wedges, nachos, and the fried cauliflower for sides (not all for me, but should've asked for a doggy bag, as I'll probably be dreaming of the food tomorrow).The Service for food and drinks was prompt, the Staff friendly, and the Interiors matched the vibe of Chapel Street. Would definitely recommend the place, for when you're starving and need somewhere good to relax and eat.

I usually come during the quieter hours and always enjoy it. Can't go wrong with the pizza and the staff are always super friendly and relaxed. As someone who also works in hospo it's definitely great vibes :)

I am giving 3 start because the bartender guy on floor is a racist. He refused to serve me drinks twice. Except that guy, I don't know what he is doing in the hospitality industry. Everything is so good there. They do have a open smoking zone on the top floor. The entry to the bar is free even at a Saturday night. The downstairs DJ knows how to keep the vibe up always in the stomping dance floor.

Love sitting in the sunshine on the rooftop, pizzas are soooo good as well. The girl with red hair and tatts makes the best bloody mary's and she's a massive cutie too 🤭

Nothing like it's heydays, at 7:30, the place was almost empty, pizza was dry and tasteless and it took 30 minutes to be served. Not to mention that the rocket leaves on the pizza were cooked too, who on earth trained the cook?!?!

WTAF happened to the pizzas! A couple of years ago I would always recommend this place as having some of the best pizzas in Melbourne. I was excited to return today only to receive the worst pizza I've ever experienced! We ordered the capriciosa and the prosciutto pizza. There was nothing on either of them! I'm completely shocked and devastated!

We went to Lucky Coq after reading its reviews, we saw that there were already some reviews about racism but the owner had replied saying disciplinary action would be taken against that. Thinking that, we went there expecting racism would not be an issue but we were so wrong. It was my birthday and i had invited a few friends with me to celebrate only to get declined at entry. The same tall bald guy with beard that everyone had mentioned before, he was there and told us we were too drunk to to enter, when we told him that we haven't even drank anything, then he saw people behind me and said its too many people, then again he changed his statement and said, oh there is a guest list and we had to be in the guestlist to enter. It was so clear that, it had nothing to do with any of the above reasons that he mentioned and only to do with us being brown in color. The all culture inclusive club that the owner is mentioning that he is hoping to have, sorry to say it's not that club. If you're white and or with white friends you can go and probably will have a good time as ive been there once before, but if all your friends belong to any racial color, then sorry to say but you have to find a different place.

Staff are excellent service is amazing. The pizza has gone downhill it used to amazing quality. Now almost inedible! So if you get zucchini you want zucchini on it

Nice and friendly place. The staff seems nice and the beer is cold and well priced. Upstairs has an outdoor area to get some air.

The last time I was in here was 15yrs ago. It hasn't changed. Good pizzas. Good drinks. Questionable liquids on the furniture.

$5 Pizza on Thursday nights offering a wide range of vegetarian pizzas which all can be made Vegan. DJs from Friday through Sunday. Killer day parties on the rooftop courtyard every Saturday too! Great friendly staff - always very polite and helpful!

The music is great but at a virtually empty bar I was ignored twice, for the bartender to serve her friend (which I completely understand - I would probably do the same) but then she left the bar unattended for several minutes. I asked the bouncer if someone was coming to tend the bar, and he aggressively told me to be patient and that 'of course someone was going to be at the bar' even though it had remained empty for some time. My first ever review that wasn't 5 stars. Don't avoid but don't expect employees to be nice to you

Cozy couches around coffee tables. A great atmosphere. We had $5 pizza's that were tasty. Nice and comfortable.

Prices are not as they appear on the menu; We were charged extra for every item we purchased on top of menu prices. I understand that venues have to make do with what's available given the circumstances but a bit more honesty with customers would go a long way.

Cheap, good eats, lovely terrace/beer garden upstairs and for once it's NOT the smoking lounge. That's outside on the High Street sidewalk side of the bar. $5 pizzas all day every day, vegan cheese is just $1 extra.

Such a fun location for a night out! Downstairs was playing RnB, has a pool table & plenty of space, and upstairs was playing house music for those who love a big beat to dance too. Bars both up and down & an outdoor seating area for smokers upstairs. Was a great night.

Always going to be a cool, hip bar. They used to have a great pizza deal night, not sure If that's still on, but if so, it's great value. Good $8 schooners of pale ale Can obviously be loud inside.

Went late Saturday afternoon and the upstairs had a DJ and good vibe. Nice open rooftop area. $5 pizzas how can you go wrong they were very tasty and filled the spot. $10 salad was delicious too. Definitely pop in for a cheap feed, some great drinks and music but go upstairs that's where the vibe was. Staff were really helpful and friendly too.

The Lucky Coq scene is great with a good vibe all round on a night out. We went late on a Friday night and the music was great, vibes were good and overall was a really good time. I would say it’s got the shortest/quickest lines on Chapel street and for the popularity of the venue it is balanced enough to not be super crowded with plenty of space to dance and hang out with friends. It’s certainly a club scene late at night but if that’s what you’re looking for this is a reliable place with no entry fee on Chapel Street.

Nice place for a day drink. Conveniently located on the corner of High and Chapel so it’s a perfect place to meet up on a Tinder date (easy to navigate) Recommend hitting up the upstairs courtyard with a happy hour cocktail.

I always have a good time here! sometimes the Dj’s can be a bit hit and miss but its definitely one of the better places on chapel!

Place is ok. The inside is interesting and unique in its decor and staff are lovely. Unfortunately the food (and the price) leaves something to be desired... I have eaten here 3 times and each time I have been disappointed with the quality of the food versus the price.

I couldn't believe there is really a place where you can get pizza for $4 on specials but it's real, and is not bad pizza, quite tasty and fair size that fills you up! Even full price pizza is only $10! Fun decoration, great tunes, specially fun on Saturday night, DJ Laura from UK was heating up the dance floor playing great tunes! Danced all night, pizza calories all gone after that lol

Had my birthday here and the venue manager was really helpful with the whole process. My friends had great fun and the pizzas were really yum! If you want a chill kind of birthday and are looking for a venue - I highly recommend this place (:

Great music if you like 2000s throwbacks and songs you can sing along to. Pool table in the back if you want to get away from the crowds. The dance floor is fairly small but wasn’t too overcrowded and drinks were great. Great for a Friday or Saturday night bar hop.

It's one of the little jewels of chapel street, Great for a quick bite for lunch or to party at night. Casual dress, cheap beers, super cheap pizza and the crowd is always super cool. Public transport is just at the door so no excuses for not visiting this venue

This place pays no respect to people with disabilities. It has two entrances and both of them have one stair. You cannot go inside with a wheelchair. The funny thing is it has disable toilet inside! As a disable person who sit in wheelchair but can walk via two crutches I used it once. Its everything except disable toilet. They use it as a storage room. Lots of boxes and janitor stuff available there.

A fun place. They used to have a bunch of great beers on, but unfortunately now they have a lot of taps but nothing much on them. They must have 20-odd taps and not a single IPA either on tap or in the fridge. Just draught, draught light, pale and more variations of the same. Sad.

Loved this place, they do great cheap pizzas and nibbles. Good selection to drink, with a dj upstairs in a beer garden, that you can smoke in. However one bouncer decided to ruin the whole night by being a knob.. Otherwise it would be 5 stars.

I have been to this joint a few times and always had a relatively good bar that I have always enjoyed, UNTIL LAST SAT Going to be brutally honest here, upon re-entry, the tall security officer, bald headed and had a full grown beard let my friends in, who were blonde and white, but refused to let me in because of my brown skin, I know racial profiling when I sense it, my friend tried to tell him that im with her but he didnt believe her, so he had to show him a picture of us. Absolutely disgraceful act in this multicultural era I don’t know his tag no. But I know he is tall, bald and has a full grown beard, he needs disciplinary action taken against him and a book thrown at his face! Don’t understand what is with the hate with bouncers and anyone with brown/tanned skin

Great bar to go to during the week or weekend. They have a dancefloor and outdoor area up top. Downstairs is a restaurant and a pool table with longe chairs.

Both upstairs and downstairs were packed with a good crowd and music.

Nice place but customer service is very poor. We came for a birthday lunch and not a single employee bothered to wish a happy birthday to the person. The menu on their website is also out of date and incorrect so we were disappointed that we couldn't get our favourites. Understand it must be difficult with COVID and all, but these slip-ups were a bit disappointing.

Always a good time heading out to Lucky Coq for a dance and a drink. The seperate floors are usually always playing different tunes so it's got a lot of variety - the staff are great too.
