Overall this venue was very disappointing. We were asked on arrival to pay $720 up front to secure the room which included a $500 bar tab. What was not made clear to us on booking the room was that we had to utilise said bar tab within the 2 hours we had the room booked, which was never realistic, particularly because most of the drinks tasted like they were watered down. Furthermore, one of the microphones in the room didn’t work, most songs were out of sync, and the acoustics/stereo system within the room were dreadful. After much haggling, we were provided with a $100 voucher to use on our next visit, but it is safe to say we will not be visiting this venue again. There are much better karaoke places out there people! This place is a rip-off! Avoid at all costs! P.S. The response to this review below just about says it all about the attitude of the staff in addressing our concerns. Horrible all round… 🤷‍♂️

Booked for 18 people, cancelled on arrival because they were full. 18 people, multiple people from different states travelled to attend this night. Security did a good job making sure everyone felt useless despite organising everything in advance.

Nice venue with good pricing. Unfortunately you have to pay in one transaction as opposed to separate payments, but this didn't ruin the whole experience. They have a great selection of songs and the rooms are really nice. The only other nit-picky thing I had was that we ordered food and it was payed for but not even put in the system. We had to follow it up about 30-60 minutes after ordering it. Otherwise, a great experience with lovely staff and a nice venue if you're looking to go belt out some tunes with your squad!

Very overpriced. $70 for a jug of 10% alcohol and 90% cola. Rooms are nice, song selection is okay. Your better off sneaking in a flask to get the most out of it.

Used to be our favourite place until tonight. One of my friends was feeling sick after spending some time in that place. She told us that she only needed some rest and was lying on her side while the rest of us were still continuing activities. 10 minutes later, a staff member came to the room and said that they weren't allowed to take a nap in the room. My friend was sitting up and tried to rest up until she was feeling worsened and lying back again. We decided to pack up and took turns to toilets before leaving. Only 5 minutes from what we decided, the same staff member came and asked us to leave because he wasn't believed that my friend was sick. He said only the reason people lying down was sleeping, and they were not allowed anyone to sleep while using the service. Even though my other friend was trying to explain the situation but he didn't want to listen to our reason. Just my personal opinion, it looked like he closely monitored our room because he didn’t believe what we told him. It supposed to be a happy night, but we left the place with very disappointing feelings because the staff didn't show any empathy and respect to us at all.

We’re absolutely creeped out by what happened when we were here!! We were group of 5 and one friend was tired so she was just dozing off on the sofa and suddenly One security just burst opened the door and stood there creepingly staring at my friend and I didn’t see his security id card so I thought he was a random person so tried shutting the door on him but he pushed opened the door hard started going off at me for shutting the door on him and we all were so confused, then after looking around i saw the security id card. And i said he should’ve knocked or given us a signal from the glass frame in the door but he was so nonchalant and didn’t even say sorry! Absolutely ruined our night by this. It was around 1:20am 30th June, room 12 ground floor if you can review the cctv footage. Also its not even on the house rules saying we can’t sleep in the room or whatever. But still if so he should have introduced himself as security guard and proceed saying we can’t sleep in the room. Never coming back in this place and wasn’t worth the price we paid.

It's a private karaoke as it's called. There are 2 cordless microphones, 2 with cords and one static one. We only had drinks and the amount we paid for the room covered them. For those not drinking - The Virgin mojito needed more mint but still enjoyable, the jug of punch was good.

This place is always a good time! The drink pours aren't impressive and they're really really against clearing away finished glasses/plates, but the service is always friendly. There's a QR code in the room that allows anyone to search and add songs to the queue, which is so convenient. They have wired and wireless mics so lots of people will be able to sing along. They also have a little stage with a fancy mic so you can have your main character moment. The song selection is good and most (not all) of the videos are good quality for karaoke. Definitely recommend the place for a fun night out!

I booked well in advance for my birthday- an initial 2 hour booking which I was told over the phone that I’d be able to extend. They were very helpful in the beginning. When we got there on the day, it was a completely different story - we were told that if we wanted to book a longer session, we should’ve done it before and that they couldn’t offer us an extension as they were all booked out. I’d paid a fortune for five people and deeply regretted it. The staff were unfriendly and very unhelpful so I don’t think I will be returning. It felt like they were only interested in making the high initial fee and not extending customers as that makes them less money. The whole thing felt extortionate and I will be returning to Partyworld in Melbourne Central where I normally go. They are reliable, have a better location and better service.

Amazing Karaoke for reasonable prices for big groups. They have a diverse range of songs and the two drinks are not outta the world, but you will still have fun. Their range of drinks are also varied. Their food was good enough for a night out! Ideally go with a big group and you will enjoy it thoroughly. The washrooms were clean too, and the service was quick.

Run like a true Karaoke venue from overseas. Lots of fun for groups, big or small. The rooms are set up really well, with a huge range of songs to choose from. Will certainly be back

I have come with a group of 7 people. We had spent the initial room hiring fee, which seems reasonable to be honest and includes a round of two drinks per person. We have been in the room for 2 hours now. The music has cut off, we have been informed to visit the front desk. Upon enquiring they have told us that an extra $5 per person is required to hold the room. I have spoken as reasonably as I possibly can to the staff stating that we are spending at minimum $200 per hour on drinks and yet they still require $5 extra per person!? Their venue is 40% full at best. We are here spending, I have asked to please talk to management. They have responded saying “there isn’t any management tonight”. Feels like I’ve been taken advantage of for no reason. What happened to appreciating your customers!? Super unreasonable and obviously couldn’t care less about our group… what a shame, I even said that I feel really unjustly taken advantage of and that I feel forced to write this review and they couldn’t care less. No responsibility taken. Melbourne standards of hospitality not met at all. Could’ve been a simple solve. What a shame.

My favourite place for karaoke. Kbox is simply the best experience for going singing, dancing and sharing with your friends. I had a really good time there and the customer service is really nice, all staff were friendly and kind. I definitely recommend this place if you want to have a lot of fun.

Really nice place with decent pricing. It's cheaper than other karaoke places without losing on quality. I find their system easiest to use out of everywhere I've been. Everyone in our group was able to use the app on our phone to search for and add songs. The people working there were also really efficient and friendly. Recommend over other karaoke places :)

Be warned you will need ID to enter, even if you're clearly in your 40s Service is speedy Chips are amazing Karaoke catalogue isn't the greatest. Not all tracks have an artist vocal track. The metadata is far from rich. The fixed microphone stands aren't needed and obscure the TV screens.

My friends and I have rented karaoke rooms here on multiple occasions and have had a great time. Such a great selection of music, delightful private rooms and a great selection of drinks delivered straight to your room. Fave karaoke venue in Melbourne. Got so lucky, popped in a fortnight before Christmas on a Friday. Turned up with a dozen people and a few stragglers. Got the Happy Hour special, all paid on one card then transferred via PayID. Got one free drink and one free food - food was swift, drinks were a-plenty. Music catalogue was vast and wide and even though one microphone didn't work, still had an amazing time.

NOT PRIVATE Room In this Karaoke Bar, you will not even get a tiny bit of Privacy. The CCTVs on the each floor is constantly watched by the security guards, and when I say constantly I mean it. Like staring at the screen of CCTV all the time, know exactly what you are doing. Our room was busted into by one of the security guard, she was aggressive in communication, and had verbally made my friend cry because of how intimidating she was to her. When our friend got escorted out from the venue, no information was communicated to us from the security in regards to the reason of how the decision was made. If any information was to be communicated to us prior, or even a warning of what not to do, then at least we can manage our friends if they were not complying. This Karaoke clearly fail to provide a private space while claiming to be a Private Room. Even through the package is reasonably priced, from the attitude from the security, I was extremely disappointed and the entire night was by the act of the security. If you want to enjoy your night, read the reviews before you book so that you don't ruin your night.

This place seriously needs an upgrade! We booked the room for 2 hours and wasted more than half an hour as nothing worked properly. The sound & mic systems were so bad, the karaoke list were so outdated we struggled to enjoy and after arguing with the staff they finally moved us to another room but not much different really. Will be the last time ever.

Price differs according to which time and day you're visiting. The place is okay and have variety of songs to select. Make sure you bring a physical ID if not security will not allow you to go inside. We paid $35 per one person for 2 hours with a free house drink. Overall experience is good. We will go back again.

Had a fantastic time last friday! The booth we booked was spacious and accommodated 16 people. We love the mini stage! The 5-9 package is so worth it, 4 hours of singing with a meal and 1 drink! We also found the QR system for queueing songs efficient. Had a blast! Definitely coming back!

My work colleagues went to Kbox last Saturday andcwe had a blast. The staff are nice and very accomodating. The room is just right for us. We were providef 5 microphones and one seems to be not working so it was fixed straight away. The lighting and sounds gets everyone in a happy mood. The food and drinks are well worth the price. Definetely had fun and would come back in the future.

Staff were super friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is great and my friend and I had a good time. The only issue I have with Kbox is that most of the songs did not have karaoke versions. So we had to sing along with the artist’s voice which kind of defeats the purpose of karaoke. We ended up having to turn the volume down on the actual song in order to hear each other. Hope Kbox can sort out these music clip licensing issues soon and add karaoke versions/remove artists vocals.

My friends and I came to celebrate the end of uni and it was amazing. The drinks were the best, so tasty. The Taylor Swift song catalogue was so thorough, we popped off!!! The service was speedy, friendly and superb. Will be coming back!!!

If you like karaoke (which I don't). It's quite a good place, well organised and fun rooms for you and friends. Food and drinks are pricey but you'd expect that.

Always a great place for a gathering! Rooms are often clean and neat and staff are nice considering they have to deal with a lot of rowdy customers. It would be nice if reception was a quiet area as it is hard to organise bookings in a noisy place. Drinks could also be cheaper

The karaoke was simple and easy to book on their website. I booked a room for 6 people and the whole process was smooth, with adjustments able to be made online. When it came to the singing though, one microphone had major echo problems so we were unable to use it. A few songs we queued simply did not work or were badly synchronised with the lyrics. However, the 4 hours we spent there was still jam packed with great, working songs. Given my short stay in Melbourne I could only visit this one place and can't really compare it. I did still expect a more flawless experience given the raving reviews however. Simply put, an average Karaoke experience with very affordable pricing.

We had a hens party there and all of us have enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Great selection of songs and drinks, the facility and venue were great. We were there from 3pm till 7pm , for $22 per person which included a drink this is great value!

A lot of fun. Ended up singing for four hours here. Equipment t worked well and the staff were ready to take our orders whenever.

They have nice, compact and cosy rooms for karaoke which suits me fine because I'm not one for large, crowded and noisy places to sing in - singing in front of large crowds of strangers makes me nervous. About 5 of us would take turns singing in one room. They have 2 big books from where we choose our songs (one listed by songs and the other listed by the names of the singers, all in alphabetical order ). There is also a huge screen which displays the words to the song. Cost - $22 plus a free drink for 5 hours - not bad and pretty comprehensive huh ?? My only reservation is that the microphone is not very powerful and the book does not embrace all the songs I would like to sing - granted there are so many songs being produced now.

Was at level two, the in-room song machine didn't have alternate language input so you couldn't search for Chinese or Japanese songs. You'll need to connect to their web app and use your own phone to search for other languages (if you're phone supports said language). Didn't ask the staff though, since we could use our phones. Otherwise it was a good experience, good service, decent drinks, decent mics.

It was a great place to hang out with friends, affordable price in food stuff but a bit expensive for the rate of the private room for an hour, still it was a amazing experience, we truly enjoy it.

Had a great night at KBOX! A relatively inexpensive night for a city venue and the amount of fun my group of friends and I had. We were there for hours and took full advantage of the on site bar. Great selection of music and the standing microphone as well as portable mic’s made for a lot of fun!

Recently booked a room here. It was very expensive @ about $250 for 5 people, and came with roughly $120 worth of credit to be spent on drinks and food from the menus. The drinks were insanely expensive though, so the credit did not take our group far at all. The song selection, microphones, screens and basically everything else was fantastic though! I will try to find cheaper alternatives next time, but wouldn't be too upset if I didn't find anything better.

Great service, huge selection of songs clean, well kept and you can even order food, drinks and alcohol via intercom. You can keep adding songs to a play list via an app and all songs come with a sing along or hardcore karaoke mode.

Been going here for years and it’s always an awesome time. Brought some new friends in recently and they are now obsessed, we will be planning another visit soon.

KBOX was the best thing I did for my hen's night. Had a group of 6 and we were running behind schedule, we called and the receptionist was so friendly and easily facilitated a change in the time of the booking as well as the number of people attending (as I had originially booked for 9) The mocktails were AMAZING and they even decorated our room to suit a hen's night at no extra cost. It was so much better than I could've imagined. Thanks KBOX for helping to make my night extra special!

Rooms are WAY smaller than advertised. Big groups be wary. Generally, this place has a decent variety of music, prices are okay and service is decent. However, when my group of 20 asked for the party room that was advertised to us as a max of 25, we were disappointed and surprised to see that this was not the case. We had 15 of us in tight proximity with one another on the couch and another 5 of us had to stand. I asked the receptionist if this was intended and was told "10 people are expected to be standing". This is not a reasonable assumption and this made for an unsatisfactory experience. No resolutions were provided except for an apology. For big groups, I would recommend to stay away.

Best Karaoke venue in Melbourne! Lots of songs.

The experience was great and being able to add songs prior to the booking was even better. The only problem was that songs from our playlist would randomly disappear with no error messages or notification. Not sure if it was a problem with the app but it's something to be aware of. Other than that the night was great and I highly recommend.

Great space for karaoke. They had at least 5 mics. Easy to use song choosing. Lots more options for alcohol which you don't often get at other karaoke places. They also had yum sweet patato chips. Only down note was the cold chicken wings. Not Ideal.

The security was so unfair. ID POLICY IS NOT CONSISTENT. The first batch of our group were able to come in without IDs, and out batch weren’t able to come in because we didn’t have our IDs. We have presented our scanned IDs though. Why is that so? I will never come back.

This is the place by which other karaoke spots in Melbourne should be measured. The song selection is good, the tools are good, the room service is good, the drink prices are good (be creative) and calamari and fries with sauce delivered to the room can't be beat. 5 stars for K-Box. I had mum's birthday there and they were really accommodating of us.

Amazing song selection and friendly staff! Really appreciated the free birthday decorations. Was not too keen on the delayed serving of drinks and the room was a tad on the smaller side. The volume was also turned up way too high on the microphones for it to be enjoyable at times.

The facilities at Kbox are great! However, the service from the staff was very poor and put a real dampener on our experience. Multiple people from our group were refused entry because they didn't have photo ID to support their vaccination certificate on their phone, which is very confusing because no other venue has asked for this, nor has the state government made this a rule. Additionally, rather than simply telling us our time was up, the manager angrily walking in and turned everything off without saying a word. In summary, great facilities for karaoke, terrible service which really affected our experience as a whole.

Great place to just slam them out while chugging down some drinks. The app is a good way to get everyone involved and adding in songs. But quite often the songs and music videos were a bit weird and not aligned to their originals/names. Eg you might get a few covers. Loses points for toilet facilities, pretty much one per floor.

Overall was not too bad, but just let you know this place is quite a bit different to me, songs selected couldn’t be arranged randomly and there is no songs sorted out as long as you manually type the name of the songs/singers on your own. The songs played are different from the name as well.. not much options in terms of songs unfortunately. Apart from the machine, there’s no other issues.

Really great time, so much fun, the sound was good but no great. I was surprised by the cost that wasn't mentioned on line at about$40/ head for 2 hours, but that comes with a drink, so I guess it was about 20 per head for 2 hours which was absolutely worth it. So many people haven't a blast!

The place was very high in security, they even checked mini purses. They didn't have many of the song I like. Such as blue, haus of holbein and time wrap. You had to leave the room to go pay for drinks, so your missing songs while doing that. Overall it was okay, would rather find another place to do karaoke. Staff who served the drinks where friendly.

Had many fun nights here. Clean rooms, easy interface and friendly staff. However, the song lists are missing some crucial tracks, which I have formally requested but they haven’t added them. Also the house sparkling is only 7% alcohol which is super low. It’s good to have the tab when you hire a room but the drinks are expensive.

Always a brilliant night out at KBOX! I have been going there for years for a reason. The rooms, equipment, service and song choices are top notch and importantly, they are always happy to extend your time if you just haven’t had enough singing! Really like that you can now search and add your songs via mobile too. Makes it easier to find songs and manage the playlist.

Always a super fun night. They don't have a huge selection of songs and a lot of the versions are a bit off (different key, pitch etc to originals, poorly translated lyrics, strange videos...) but it's fun and the staff there are really great.

KBOX Karaoke was certainly an amazing way to spend a night with the girls last Friday night!!! Had such a blast choosing through the songs already on the screen or even scanning the barcode and finding songs through your phone! Having multiple microphones and 2 screens definitely was the cherry on top of the experience, we were also given $20 credit each to spend on cocktails and/or food!!! We had a 11:40-1:40am time slot and was the perfect amount of time to get our grooves on! The reason for not giving it 5 stars is the cleanliness of the overall building itself was a bit unclean. Other than that amazing experience and will be back in the future!!

Impressed how this old establishment have been around for over decades and is still up to date with technology and managed to pull through the pandemic and now a thriving business. Felt like a Korean or Japanese rooms which was nice and clean. Service was a tad slow but super friendly. Had a lot of fun. Well done and all the best Kbox!

Had a fabulous night here recently! The Happy Hour dining karaoke package is excellent value for money. The food options were surprisingly sufficient to share as a group and tasty too. Staff were very friendly and helpful with the booking process. Really good selection of songs and decent technology. Only wish would be the ability to dim the lights to create a different mood but the atmosphere in general was great. So much fun!

I went for my birthday party on a Saturday night with 10 people. The room was really good, clean and spacious. We got 4 handheld mics, 1 mic on a stand which was really good to share with 10 people. The service and alcohol was good just a bit expensive but we got credit from our booking. The only downfall was the music wasn't karaoke you could hear the people singing in the background of a lot of the songs.

Great way to do 50 with the family. We had a group of 6 incl my niece (under 10) and Mum. Did the 5-9 pkg. Drinks served in plastic. Awesome sweet potato wedges. Superior song list. Comfortable room. Great location.

Came here with a group of friends and it was a reasonable price for us to do karaoke. The rooms were great and spacious so you could move around and dance. Would of been better if they had the original background music for the songs (a lot of them where different music for the songs not the original) but other than that was great!

Great fun on a Friday night! When every other karaoke bar in Melbourne closes to under 18’s after 8.00pm, KBOX let me and my teenage daughters in without a booking. We had the best time in a small studio with great service. We’ll be back for a birthday party!

We attended last weekend and had to go out to attendants on 4 occasions regarding mics going flat or disconnecting. Finally we were moved to another room by the lag on the tablet was so bad and it was hanging off the wall as it had been pulled out. For the inconvenience we were given a further 5 minutes on our booking. I would not go back here again or recommend to anyone looking to karaoke in the Melbourne cbd, lots of other options with better facilities and more reliable equipment.

We almost arrived late but the person receiving us told me to catch my breath and calmly signed us in. When I asked if we could push the booking 30 minutes back, she kindly agreed. We even went in earlier. (Your time will be exactly 2 hours after you walk inside your room, though, so be mindful. The screen will show that it’s the last song and stop playing next songs) Drinks come quickly and with minimal disruption. Other people’s singing bleed a bit through the door/wall but when you start singing it’s nonexistent. You can also feel more bold to sing your heart out. I love their intuitive app system, you can change virtually anything to modify your singing experience. It’s so easy to find any song that you want from oldies to newest hits, asian, american, australian, even russian. I felt a bit cheated because my free drink is only 1/5 of the glass and most of it is ice. My friends get full glass. I would’ve gotten something else instead, if I had known it’d be 1/5 and not at least 1/2 of the glass. I did order another drink because of their good service. (We didn’t try the food) I also wish they have B-sides / less popular songs of Kpop groups and have a mark for what language the song is in. We selected the Japanese version multiple times by mistake.

We booked a room for 4 and the staff we dealt with were quite rude. Unfortunately, we kept having one of the staff members enter our room because my girlfriend was feeling sleepy. This staff member kept coming into the room and telling her to "Wake up!" even at times when she wasn't sleeping. The experience didn't feel very private at all on this occasion sadly and made us very uncomfortable. To anyone wanting to enjoy Karaoke, I'd suggest booking at Holy Moly or even Strike as they don't intrude on your private time and are much more respectful.

We had so much fun here, it was so good. There was about a group of 10 of us, you pay 42 per person, and then 70% of that cash goes towards the tab. Was a great night out.

So from the start we were welcomed abruptly as we booked for a 10:30 session and were 10 minutes late, for what you pay for 45$ per person is way over priced, the karaoke room was tiny and the microphones weren’t working the best, we were interrupted several times within the two hour session because they apparently thought one of us was sleeping when that person was awake singing and drinking, bathrooms were poorly maintained both male and female. Much better places out there, don’t recommend this.

We had so much fun here, it was so good. We (my friends) comes here often as group to have fun. Sing our lung out after a long day of work, and having a great time. Was aa amazing night out.

Friday night 4 hr for 38$ With one food and drinks. Great atmosphere and service.

I went there by myself (paid for 2 still bc I booked for 2) but it was worth it the snacks were great, they have good variety of drinks and good Japanese, Korean, Indonesian, and English songs.

Had such a fun night, love this place - the drinks were strong and plentiful and the song selection was excellent. Nice, clean, cosy rooms and I appreciate the hygiene measures for the mics. 10/10 will return!

We were provided bigger room for 10 people. The stage between tables give us more fun for one man show. We usually bring own foods and order two drinks . $38 for 4 hours Karaoke +Drink is good value. During winter if you could change time 4pm-8pm Friday and Saturday will be perfect!!

very mid soundproofing, could hear other rooms + door didn't automatically fully shut. quality of music also varied - backing vocals option was temperamental and audio levels were different from song to song. mic dropped in and out. food and drinks were okay. only two cubicles in toilets. despite these issues though we had a very fun night and ended up extending our 3hr karaoke experience to 4hrs.

honestly not only were the drinks on the pricier side but it was very hard to get into the vibe of the music. If you enjoy having bright lights blasted on you while singing, this is the place for you.
