I really like this place. Always a good beer selection and such great cheap food. Average pub food but much cheaper. $10 parmas all the time. Not too loud (Thursday before a public holiday), and you can usually get a seat. The staff are very friendly and attentive as well.

With the closure of Gertrude this is one of the best craft beer venues in town. Also a great selection of Belgian ales as well!

Cheap parmas every night ($10) including vegan and vegetarian ones. Beers are a tad expensive ($7-11 for a schooner) but good choices. The woman who served us was very friendly and efficient. Nice moody lighting and decor.

Just had the chicken parma and chips, best I've had in years. Always rated this place for the number of tap beers and varieties they rotate through but haven't eaten here for a while so I was pleasantly surprised. Happy hour runs from 4 to 6 and beers were only $6.

$10?! For a parma?! Normal, vegetarian OR vegan?!?! Yup, this place has got you covered! This is a really great place to have a quiet dinner with friends on a budget. Ideal location and also a chill vibe that isn't overly noisy; great place to be able to sit & chat with people! One noticeable downside is the service. I understand now that the set up is that you decide what you want and then go pay at the bar, but I think it's still necessary to uphold good customer service standards. My friend was looking at one of the waitstaff as she walked towards her, tried to get her attention and was totally ignored by the staffer. At the very least, have staff acknowledge guests if they walk in and look lost *like we did because we didn't know what the service procedure was*. We felt like we really had to work hard to get ANY form of acknowledgement and it shouldn't be like that. Overall, it's a great place for a decent pub meal for a very reasonable price. Just don't expect much in the way of customer service.

It's a bit more upmarket than Barry's ever was, here for the New Zealand beer night nice atmosphere.

Such a nice place with great ambiance, friendly staff and awesome craft beers. Amit provided a great service especially when I erroneously ordered the wrong thing and he quickly rectified it without additional charges. The pub looks posh, yet reasonable, clean and smells good. Would definitely go there again. I was there with my colleagues for a farewell and totally recommend it for such events as we had our own area and privacy.

Definitely a favourite especially with their $5 parma (if you buy a drink of course). Great place and we love the attitude of the staff and selection of brews.

We had our small wedding party hosted on the Mezzanine balcony on Saturday. The staff are wonderful, fantastic people who were super kind and attentive. The food was wonderful and when we ordered more, was promptly made and tasted great. It was a perfect experience and I am so happy we chose Foresters.

The durry section out the front made me think this was a 'Welcome Stranger' style flea-pit, but I was delighted to discover great drinks, food, service and atmosphere. Vegan 🍆 parma is killer! 👌

Looks like a generic pub on the outside but is much cosier and cooler on the inside. The space serves a nice range of local beers and wines and has some interesting interior decor. I love the upstairs loft areas. But the best part is the massive and cheap and veganisable mains including a vegan parma and pizza.

I don't know how you argue with $5 Parmas (now $10) every night with real mozzarella and juicy chicken schnitz... oh and they also have over 30 beers on tap (some of them are not even ales- tongue firmly in cheek).

Great venue, nice and large, but every time I have been it has felt empty. Tap selection is fantastic! Always some cracking beers to choose from. The smoking area is small, but it's a great place to sit for some people watching on Smith st.

A couple of years ago I regularly drank here, solely because of the great beer selection - I then moved away from the north. I went yesterday, looking forward to trying some new beers, and was greatly disappointed. Whilst not terrible, the beer selection on offer is similar to any other pub in the area, but the venue isn’t as cosy or as vibrant as those other places. Won’t be returning anytime soon.

Best eggplant parma I've had.... Ever! I actually can't believe it's only $10. They do a vegan version as well which I'll try next time. Great NZ sav as well also only $10 bucks. Beautiful sitting area wonderful for an early in the week dinner and drink. Staff are friendly efficient and easy going. Will def be back. Thanks everyone!!
