Absolutely amazing spot, we could have spent all day here. Creative and interesting equipment encouraging children to use their imagination and problem solve, right down to the different paths and access points between areas. Our one year old (not yet walking) was the youngest playing, and so many parents were getting involved too which was great. The big hill was perfect for rolling down, which the 3 year old loved, and we also went on a big walk/bike ride around the park. The pump/waterfall and sandpit combo were a favourite. We were there on a cool day but I can imagine shade would be an issue on warm days. Definitely recommend.

Such a great park! spacious, great variety of play areas, a very nice sandpit section, swings, slides, water play, green areas to play ball games. Plenty of shaded areas. Really enjoyed our time at this park!

If you're looking for a fun place to take your kids, this spot is a must-visit. There are plenty of obstacle courses that both kids and parents will enjoy, but keep in mind that there isn't much shade, so be sure to come prepared with hats, sunscreen, and plenty of water. There's also a water fountain that kids love, so it's a good idea to bring extra clothes if you plan on staying a while. I personally recommend going in the late evening to avoid the heat of the day.And if you're planning a family BBQ, you're in luck! There are several BBQ facilities available for use. All in all, this is a great spot for families looking to enjoy a fun day outdoors together.

I was one of the people that built this park. The park was designed in house by the City of Melbourne (Sky and Jeff) and delivered by Lend Lease with Delta as a major subcontractor. Alot of effort went into making this park, safe and appealing to people from ages 2 to Adult. Shade was lacking at the start, as trees mature this is improving. Fall heights were all taken into account during the design and build, the park underwent multiple independent play safe Audits which had us adjusting items by as little as 20mm to get it right. The park is designed and constructed with different levels of mobility oportunitues to participate in many elements. Pinch points, finger traps and other entrapments were all measured and adjusted where required. Play equipment was a mix of local and imported from Germany. Hope you enjoy.

Incredibly well thought out and we'll maintained playground with imaginative and engaging equipment to explore. Located conveniently beside the Royal Melbourne Childrens Hospital and amongst the much larger natural environment of Royal Park bushland. This park is a model for what urban parkland and community spaces can be.

Taking my two and a half year old daughter to Royal Park Nature playground is a treat not only for kids but also adults trying to keep up. Sections are challenging, child user friendly options are enlightening. The water fall, dam, and combination sandpit are so much fun. The top of the hill is an ascension that rewards a panorama view of the beauty of Melbourne. Go and find your inner child here, as kids of all sizes young and old will find this place, stimulating, adventure full, and so much fun.

Perfect way to spend time waiting for appointments while at the Royal Children’s Hospital! This is a diverse playground with different zones catering to all ages (including adventurous adults!). Low and high ropes courses, various swings and slides, water and sand play/pumping stations and several other climbing structures make this nature playground perfect for expending energy and engaging in active and imaginative play. Always a highlight of our trips to the Children’s.

Wow what an amazing playground. how could you give this anything less than five stars? Beautiful. Plenty of interesting and fun things for the kids to do, wonderful swing, big round swing and incredible Army Boot Camp like log contraption to climb all over that stretches for about nearly 40 metres. Really cool little wooden bridge. Plenty of rope things to climb all over and three slides of different heights. Sprawling Green Fields Green Green Grass all around. There's plenty of trees and there's also a lot of really good walking paths around. Right next to the children's hospital. Great place for kids.

Looks amazing from the outside looking in and then you realise as you get closer that the wood climbing equipment has seen better days. I think it would be splinters galore after climbing for a matter of minutes. Also not for littler kids. Probably 5-6 onwards. However, the water play area up a bit further towards RCH is great on a hot day.

Amazing park! Build around the natural landscape with huge rocks and natural layout. Great for kids of all ages. Huge slides and rope course for bigger kids. Swings, climbing logs and sand pits for small kids. Great on a hot day with water feature creek and fountain for kids to play in. Clean toilet facilities. Only down side was no shade over play equipment but lots of trees around for shade to rest. Great big hill behind for kids to run up and down, see pics for view towards the park.

Awesome park with multiple play areas, incorporating water elements and great climbing activities nestled between beautiful landscape architecture. It's definitely a nature park and one of, if not our favourite park.

A great kids playground to spend some quality time with you little ones. This is a very spacious playground and is located conveniently right next to Royal Children’s Hospital, Royal Melbourne and Royal Women’s Hospital are also a short drive. Street parking is usually available but could be a problem to find a spot on weekends though. It has lots of activities for kids. Highly recommended.

Fun enough, but it's probably aimed at kids 4-7. Many things are a bit too big for toddlers and wee kiddies. There are plenty of swings, but the chains are really short, so it's better catered to the toddler age group

RCH provides an incredible service for both children and family. I was there in 2021 and I am so grateful for all the help and support I got. Everyone was professional and made me feel safe. I would highly recommend!!!

Great for little kids and big kids. My grand kids (all 5 and under) spent half an hour climbing the grassy hill and rolling down. The space enables so much imaginative play. Just loved it.

It's a great park. Well maintained. Plenty of space and plenty of things to do for the kids. It's a well designed park with lots of activities for kids of all age groups. When we come, we are sure to wear sun protection as it's a sun drenched park. There's lots of water play here, too, which sets this park apart from the rest.

A fantastic playground with extensive and well considered areas suitable for very young kids up to big kids. Lots of swings, slides and high ropes course. Fun water play area too. The best park ever?

Amazing park with a lot of interesting things for a wide range of age groups. The water play here keeps my kids entertained for hours. Parking is the only issue around that area.

Me and my wife have just found this beautiful park next to the children's hospital, have a walk around the area, there's plenty of playgrounds activities for children of all ages, will recommend to my relatives with children to visit here and planning to have a family BBQ sooner...

A must visit park. We took our 16 month old there and she had such a fabulous time. There is something there for all ages big and small. If it is a warm day there is a water feature where children can run and play with water. So definitely pack bathers or change of clothes. A must park experience if you live or visiting Melbourne

  • 5/5 Alice O. 2 years ago on Google
This playground is brilliant with something for all ages, including a ropes course for older kids. If your kid likes water play, be sure to bring a change of clothes
