If this is not the best pizza in Melbourne, let alone the best vegan pizza, I want to know which one is. Baked in a wood fired oven charred to perfection, fresh toppings, amazing pizza base, give this a try and thank me later. Their "not wings" chicken wings are awesome too, try the one with hot Chili sauce if you are brave. One of my favourite places to have a meal in the city and guilt free since its vegan.

We have ordered from here so many times and we have never been disappointed. The pizza base is so good and the options are amazing. Our favourites are the Mac n Cheese Pizza and the BBQ Chicken! Cheese burger pizza is also a hit too! All vegan and probably the best pizza we have had in Melbourne 🍕

One of the great wood fired pizza places in Melbourne. And the best part is that it is all VEGAN!!! The place is nice and cozy with an open pizza baking area. We had the mushroom, bbq and pepperoni pizzas along with spicy chips and the wings. The pizzas were generally great with good flavours and nice crust. It was cooked perfectly and the chilli oil on the side went well with it. The chips were okay and the wings were not that great. It was a good place overall and I had a great experience at this place.

Great variety of vegan pizzas and starters! Tasted amazing. They also support causes like Animal Liberation, Edgar's Mission and ending Racehorse cruelty. I love their food and the causes they support. A must-try for everyone, vegan and non-vegan.

The best vegan pizza in Australia, no questions asked. Heaps of great flavours and variety. The Bahn Mii pizza is awesome and the not wings starter is brilliant too. Come here every time I come to Melbourne.

We had the cheeseburger pizza and oh my god. Didn't realise it was a fully vegan place until we went to order but it didn't matter, the pizza was amazing, dough was so light and airy, it was just delicious. Already wanna go back.

Taking traditional to a new level. I recently visited Red Sparrow Pizza for the first time, and was pleasantly surprised with how tasty their food and the overall experience was. I was a little apprehensive with their 'creative' topping choices, but obviously a lot of care has gone into choosing high quality ingredients to make some truly tasty vegan pizzas. I visited the restaurant on a Saturday at around 2pm with my family and it was already busy - so a reservation may be needed! Thankfully they were able to accommodate us without a reservation. Upon entering, we were instantly greeted in such a professional and welcoming manner, as well as throughout the time we were there. We ordered: - BBQ Chicken Pizza - Garlic Bread - Cheeseburger Pizza - Plain Cheese - And a cocktail, wine and juices The food and drinks came out relatively quickly and it all looked amazing. I didn't personally get to try the plain cheese pizza, as the kids loved and demolished it. The BBQ chicken had jalapeños on it, which I wasn't expecting (I didn't read all the ingredients lol), but the pizza came together really well. It probably did need some more 'mock chicken' pieces imo. The cheeseburger pizza flavours surprisingly worked, and the garlic bread was honestly one of the best. The atmosphere was a bit dark where we were seated, but the place had an overall great atmosphere. I put off coming here because of the interesting topping choices, but honestly all of what we ate was spot on. Definitely keen to try more of the menu in the future!

Absolutely mouth-wateringly delicious pizzas! An absolute gem! The pizza base alone is highly satisfying, the plant based cheese is excellent and the toppings just add to the awesomeness of it all. The best vegan pizza in Australia!

Red Sparrow Pizza really saved my bland and boring lockdown. Love ordering here and their specials are also so fun and interesting. Shared this with my non-vegan friends and they were AMAZED that these were vegan. SUPER AWESOME ❤️

Service was really lovely. I haven't tried any other vegan pizza places & I wouldn't be surprised if this were the best one in Melbourne. If comparing to other Neapolitan pizza places, I would say the dough & cheese can be better.

Always the best pizzas, the pizza line is quite efficient it seems it came before the starter wings, but honestly not complaining i was happy about it. The staff was lovely and welcoming and had a friendly vibe. We've been here multiple times now and it never disapoints💕

Super friendly staff, modern, clean environment and great selection of starters, pizzas, cocktails, and desserts. We started with a side of BBQ wing which came with ranch dipping sauce and pickles, beautiful texture and taste. We got the pepperoni and the puttanesca. The pepperoni was nice but tasted like the sliced salami I thought was average. The puttanesca was awesome. As soon as it came out I could smell the olives and capers, the flavour was delicious. The base and crust probably the nicest I’ve had. Generous sized serves, if you’re going during a busy time I recommend you book. When we went it packed but we felt very looked after and not rushed. Can’t wait to come back to try the notella dessert pizza.

Love this place. There’s a tram stop conveniently located right outside so easy to get to by public transport. I recommend the Cheeseburger pizza and Not Wings. You don’t have to be vegan to enjoy what’s on offer. Pizza dough is beautiful and light, vegan cheese and meats are really good. Ingredients have been paired well to make a great menu. Service is prompt and helpful with plenty of beverage options too, alcoholic and non alcoholic. I couldn’t help but notice how inclusive this place was. It’s for everyone that was my favourite thing about it. Will be back to try more things. Thanks Red Sparrow, you made my heart sing 😊

Last night I went to a vegan pizza place to give it ago .. the chicken wings was pretty tasty!!! Even though it was not a real chicken. It was good to give it ago :)

Delicious food. Had a few different pizzas and their pizza dogs for dinner. Recommend a visit :) helped out with the extra fussy eaters in our group.

Lovely atomesphere and staff. This is by far the best vegan pizza joint I've ever been too, their fake meat is also incredibly similar to the real thing. The pizzas here easily outshine all other vegan pizzas, and also beats out a ton of regular pizza joints. Definitely deserves the high rating!

Red sparrow is such a cool space! Great atmosphere, friendly service, and a cosy interior. The food is well made and full of flavour. There's red base and white base pizza options with some sides and a few desserts too. We loved all the ones we tried including pepperoni and Bianca. And save some room for a deep fried mars bar for dessert !!

Really enjoyed both Pizza! Wish the entrees we ordered came out at the same time or before the pizza but it was all good as they all tasted 👍 Would go back to try other pizza too.

The food at Red Sparrow is superb. Their pizzas are fantastic, as are other items on their menu. The staff and service is excellent, and the dinning room a good feel about it. Love this place.

Pizzas were underdone and you could tell because the base was soggy and floppy, the dough was chewy, and the sauce (on the Margherita) was sliding off the pizza. The tomato pizza sauce also tasted acidic. The potato leek pizza was stodgy and lacked seasoning. Unfortunately one of the worst pizzas I’ve had in Melb.

After one dine in and one takeaway experience we now consider Red Sparrow our go to for our pizza fix. Dine in was fun, tasty pizza and friendly staff who were more than happy to box up the leftovers and give us a tip on how to enjoy the next day (don't nuke the microgreens). Takeaway was equally as good and the wings were delicious. Will be back soon.

Why can't all pizza be this good, and vegan. Holy sheet the cheeseburger pizza is AMAZING! Stop what you are doing now and get yourself one.

Absolutely incredible food. The usual vegan cheese flavours and fake chicken flavours aren't there. I would almost think that it wasn't vegan based on the quality of flavour. The service was excellent and quick made to order as well. Would recommend and I will certainly be returning.

Pretty consistently the best pizza we eat, always killer and always worth the effort to go there. You make it hard to even bother trying other places, especially considering you are exclusively vegan so I can ensure there is no cross contamination. Thankyou always.

Arriving within 30 minutes before they close on a Monday night, the staff were great - friendly and efficient, with no rushed vibe. The place is spacious, with the front counter, takeaways, wood oven and some bar seating in one section and large tables in the next, providing a relaxed and less distraction for dine-ins. So many options that appealed to veggie focused vegans and non-vegans. Among 3 of us, we ordered a couple of pizzas and a couple of sides - so flavourful. The base was thin and held the toppings perfectly, while the crust was airy, crispy, and soft in all the right places, with just a slight chew. We ended up taking some left overs home. I’m not one to eat cold pizza, but damn - they were still good. Thank you the team at Red Sparrow Pizza.

The best pizza in Melbourne, the best vegan pizza in Australia without a doubt. Great restaurant and vibe, awesome and friendly staff. Food was incredibly tasty. Loved the Ortolana pizza, and the Buffalo sauce Not Wings with ranch dressing was insanely good. Also, the cheesecake was one of the best I've had vegan. Definitely need a place like this back where we live.

Their pepperoni pizza is amazing and whatever cheese they use is literally the best I've tasted. No weird texture or aftertaste, just pure cheesy goodness! They make a real pepperoni pizza too, not just 3 slices sprinkled, they're generous with toppings. Dough was light and very tasty too. Also tried their buffalo wings which are fantastic and they give you a big serving. Staff are extremely attentive and friendly. Top notch!

Finally a place where vegan is not just the usual boring option relegated to the menu corner but you can really choose what you like the most! Top quality pizza ingredients and excellent dough, a real pleasure!

Always love coming to Red Sparrow. One of my most favourite pizza places that happens to be vegan. I bring a lot of non vegans here and they are always amazed at how good the food is. Service is always efficient and friendly, also love the convenience of ordered via the app.

I wanted to give this vegan pizza a go as my usual Italian place was shut. The base is traditional soft and the pizza was well priced. What I didn't quite like was the tomato sauce, a bit too much and not much taste. I added some salt but still pretty bland, as the sauce should be cooked with some salt (I generally do not eat very salty). The vegan cheese was also a bit bland, of a very soft consistency. I'll still give it a 4. I believe vegans are more likely to appreciate this.

Awesome wood fired gluten free bases! The indie/alt rock music selection is also fantastic. I do wish they had more options that didn't involve a meat substitute, but they still taste great.

Red Sparrow is one of my frequents due to how good everything is. The "chicken" wings are divine and the pizzas, everyone single one, is amazing. The drinks are great as well. If you're looking for a vegan place to dine out, this is the place.

the food here is always to die for. whilst the pizza is great, it is the other vegan sides that make it for me. the waffle fries are perfectly seasoned with an amazing barbecue sauce and the wings are just delicious. i opt for the spicy sauce option and it definitely has a kick so the ranch and pickles help cool down your mouth a bit. the garden salad with the vegan feta is amazing too. service is always great and the food comes out in no time!

Amazing selection of pizzas, really fresh, tasty salads and a good drinks selection to cater for all tastes. I love the vegsn ethos of this place and the care they put into their food. As Manu would say, you can feel the love in the dish. Will definitely be back. My only complaint is that there's not yet a Red Sparrow in my neighbourhood!

This was the best pizza place I've ever been to. I'm gluten free, dairy free and a whole lot of other things free due to allergies and I have never had so much choice and have felt so safe eating out. The staff were attentive and lovely to our group, double checking to make sure our order was correct. The gluten free pizza base was perfect, easily mistakable for actual gluten. It was so soft, thin and tasty. The vegan cheeses, vegan chicken and dairy free ice cream were also practically impossible to tell that they were vegan. I am so incredibly happy I found this place, thank you so much for doing what you do. Definitely will be back :)

Went on a Wednesday and they had have off ‘not wings’ which made my pregnant wife so happy we got them to go aswell! Pizza and staff were also excellent, can’t wait to return

Therefore, there was NO food wasted because we did NOT ask for another pizza and we left hungry still. This would be the only and last time that I response to this review. I give honest review of my experience. If you cannot take constructive criticism, then it's too bad. I'm sure there are people who had good experience unfortunately it wasn't us. Now pizza 🍕 we were a bit disappointed as we ordered two and they were a little doughy and undercooked. We could still feel the dough texture when we scraped the topping off to check if it's cooked. We told one waiter and expected him to let the chef knows as he mentioned that there is a trial chef in the kitchen tonight. However, we saw him walking around and nothing happened. Then, we had to tell another staff which is a manager that night if I recalled correctly. She immediately apologized and took it back to the chef. We told her what we were told about chef on trial and she said that the owner is also in the kitchen. Appreciate your service and food. Not sure if we're coming back. Thank you 🙏

DIVINE! Awesome experience all round. Friendly staff and the food was just as good. No brainer spot if you're a vegan. I'm not and honestly I couldn't tell the difference, the food was so so good. Service was fast, efficient and friendly, and made us feel very welcome and at home. I would recommend literally everything on the menu. So please attend without hesitation

Yum! Great service - walk-in on a busy Friday evening without a booking - No problem, we were seated immediately 👍🏻 - Great cocktails at very reasonable prices. We ordered a few sides and a 'SALSICCIA' pizza - which reads well on the menu, but we both felt the Parmesan was applied with a very heavy hand - it was a bit overwhelming and dominated the flavour. The crust was perfect. The base is too "wet/floppy" - I/We prefer a 'crusty' base that you don't need to fold or use 2 hands to eat. Will definitely return & try out some of the other yummy menu items!

These pizzas were excellent and as non-vegan myself I was quite surprised the meat alternatives were not actually meat. Had the barbecue “chicken” and the”banh mi” flavour. So good! My favourite item though was the “not wings” which were perfectly crispy like hot wings but they had no bones because they aren’t actually chicken. Perfectly cooked. Enough room for us to walk in as a couple without a booking at 6pm on a Wednesday but probably need to make a booking on a busier night. Can’t wait to go back.

Best vegan pizza I’ve had. Prefer to others in the area and pretty good value! Thoroughly enjoyed the verde pizza and staff suggested the delicious addition of almond feta and I took it upon myself to add eggplant, red onion, mushrooms and vegan pepperoni! Great crust! Wood fired vegan pizzas, absolutely delicious. We also tried the "chicken" drumsticks, really lovely with the ranch sauce. My husband practically inhaled the tripple chocolate cheesecake and I thought the nutella pizza was to die for. Tastes like real nutella.

Even if your not vegan this is absolutely one of the best pizza shops around!!

I had a Capricciosa pizza here and it was really tasty. The pizza was tomato base, Mozarella, bacon, artichoke, olives, bacon and fresh parsley. The ingredients were all vegan, and delicious. Wow!! The pizza base tasted quite thick and floury, not the best I've tried. The waitress was very nice but then it was an intense experience w the waiter telling me how good the pizza was, yes I know mate lol Maybe he was the owner I'm not sure but he did the same thing to the other punters. Mmnn Anyway this place also sells Coldstream Apple Cider and a nice Pinot Noir. Overall this was a really good experience.

Anytime I place order on Uber from the store, the order comes late.

I ordered a pizza last night on Uber eats and the restaurant accidentally sent me the wrong order - actually somebody else's order. As I am gluten free and this order was not gluten free they went above and beyond to call the driver and ask him to make sure I contact the restaurant as soon as he arrived at my house. I think it was Chelsea, I'm not 100% sure but she was so apologetic about the whole mix up and fast tracked my new fresh replacement order for me along with my original pizza as a bonus. Thanks for the awesome customer service and for making sure you contacted me to let me know. :) Love this place

My favourite restaurant to visit that I will always return to. Perfect for any diet as the food is always amazing and a perfect range of pizzas available. There's only one thing however, sometimes the pizzas are just a bit too oily. Keep up the great work!

So I'm not a vegan myself but was really surprised at how good their vegan pizzas and starters were. Didn't feel like there was an compromise on taste and great beers on tap too.

I love meat but love my veggies too. So for lunch I always prefer vegetarian food to keep it light. Red Sparrow therefore had the best options for someone like me. The cheese is something I got to get used to but the flavour is still good.

Best vegan wood fired pizza in town! So nice to finally have a pizza place where all the options are vegan and so damn delicious, including desserts! The staff here are by far the nicest people i've ever had serve me at a restaurant and always willing to support the community with fundraising events. Just a solid win in all regards.

Real disappointment. The knives were so blunt it was near impossible to cut the pizza. We asked for sharp ones and were told they had none. Pizza toppings ok but the base very ordinary and soggy throughout. First and last time.

Ordered Pepperoni and Hawaiian pizzas + buffalo drumsticks. I was not keen on the meat alternatives - I ordered them hoping to have my mind blown, sadly not this time. But other people seem to like it, so I guess it's subjective. Aside from that, the pizzas were good quality, really nice bases and sauces and I would order again but choose diff. toppings.

Prefer it to regular pizza tbh... the crust is phenomenal and it’s nowhere near as greasy as even the finest vegetarian/omni pizzas.

Easy to book, amazing choice of delicious pizzas, generous portion sizes & a good drinks selection. We'll be back!
