Wow! Amazing vegan food in a whole heap of different cuisines and styles. I'm actually surprised at how good the food is. One, because it's vegan and good vegan food is hard to come by unless you cook it yourself. Two, because there are so many options and they actually still all taste amazing. We got the tofu bites and the green curry with "chicken". Stunning dishes that were delicious. Easy must visit for anyone, vegan or not.

So glad that Brother Bon is open again! The food was absolutely beautiful as usual. We are working through the menu, today we had the Chicken Katsu Sando (always a winner), the Char Kway Teow, and the Broken Rice.

This place never disappoints me! I simply love this place. The atmosphere, food, service and vibe of this place is amazing. Located on high street, next to chemist wearhouse, this is a vegan restaurant with many options. Reservations are highly recommended as this place is busy during weekends. Kitchen closes at 8:30pm, so make sure you order before that. They have a wide range of vegan menu, you name it and you get it. It’s been six years I have been going to this place and never disappointed:) Kids friendly, they have a screen playing kids video. Staff is super friendly and very much accommodating. Coming on to the food, try their Nasi Gorang with duck, their Souvlaki, Wantons and much more. If you are looking for vegan options or if you are tired of eating non veg, than this is the place.

My friends recommended this place for good vegan food, and I am so glad we did. This place is delicious, has a good presentation and the right portion, and has a great menu selection of mock meat, salads and desserts. The staff are friendly and has plenty of seating. We came during the week, and it was busy. We love all the meals we order, and I highly recommend this place for vegan food. It's worth eating here.

Creative and delicious options! We are looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu. The service was great. Bit pricey, but it is what it is.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Brother Bon with my family, and it was a hit with everyone. Our visit took place during a Sunday lunch, and right from the start, we were greeted warmly by the attentive and friendly staff. As a parent of two young children, I found it particularly delightful to discover a vegan restaurant that caters specifically to kids with its dedicated vegan kids' menu. To top it off, the restaurant provided our little ones with colouring pencils to keep them happily engaged throughout the meal. We indulged in a variety of delectable dishes during our visit. The crispy 'chicken' pieces we ordered had a delightful crunch and a satisfying texture, while the vegetable dumplings burst with flavourful goodness. For our main courses, our kids relished the generously portioned schnitzel and chips, which proved to be a definite crowd-pleaser. On the other hand, the Bun Bowl Salad, a more traditional Vietnamese dish, offered simplicity yet an explosion of flavours that left us thoroughly satisfied. We couldn't resist trying the Bon's Chicken Burger, complete with vegan bacon, cheese, and a crispy chicken fillet. The food, in general, was not only tasty but also brimming with delightful flavours. The restaurant itself boasts ample space, high chairs, and convenient change tables, making it a welcoming environment for families. However, it's worth noting that the prices at Brother Bon may be a tad higher in comparison to other vegan restaurants in the vicinity. To give you an idea, our bill for two main courses, two kids' meals, two sides, two ice creams, and a few beverages totalled approximately $150. Despite this, I would still recommend Brother Bon due to its exceptionally flavourful dishes and the family-friendly ambiance it offers. It was indeed a wonderful experience dining with the family!

Amazing and large menu to choose from! The mock meat is very tasty and not chewy or too salty like you might see elsewhere. Great option for vegans however a little on the expensive side.

Yum! Didn't know vegan tasted so good! Staff are also very helpful. We loved it so much we forgot to take a photo till mid 2nd course. Ice creams were popular too. There's a great area at the back for families with a children's cartoon and lounge. We'll be going back.

Delicious food. Price is apt, for the large portions served. Our go to vegan food spot. 👌🏼😋 Chilly basil fried rice and nasi goreng were full of flavour. Udon noodles were little hard to chew, otherwise great taste. Bam bam is 🔥

The long wait is over where they have renamed themselves from Loving Hut to Brother Bon! Where they have now incorporated brunch and liquor! Definitely a new chilled vegan atmosphere. The food is just sensational and flavourful with their mock meats. My personal favourite is the Japanese curry on white rice with duck. I've yet to try out their brunch menu in which I'll be coming back very soon. Definitely recommendable place to satisfy your tummy even if your not vegan, you won't be disappointed.

Never tried a vegan restaurant before, and I have always found this restaurant extremely busy . I was sceptical on the mock vegan option of chicken and beef .Was mind blown by the similarity to real meat. My friends and I enjoyed the food so much, didn't feel like we missed anything by choosing vegan. As it was a new experience for all of us. Will visit again. The customer service was excellent. I am not sure if they take walk ins, but i highly recommend to book online in advance especially on weekends.

Brother Bon is a casual dine in restaurant in Northcote. When I went it was called 'Loving Hut' My kids loved it here, they had no idea they were even eating a meat alternative and thought it was delicious. I had a little from a range of dishes and thought everything was amazing 😍

Not pictured: vegan katsu sando. We LOVED this place! The food was well portioned and flavorful, there were tons of options, and the plating was not overlooked. There was ample seating and fast service; we were there on a Sunday afternoon during the Northcote festival. My favorite was the bao and vegan fried chicken bites. And the katsu sando. I just loved it all and cannot wait to return.

Great all vegan restaurant! Lots of different options to try and all super delicious. Excellent service and friendly staff. The only downside is that it was pretty noisy but understanding since it was quite busy.

2 times in 2 days we came here. The food is incredible. I had the Japanese curry and the Cheesy burger both times with the greens side dish that is just out of this world good for something so simple. Highly recommend and already planning to come back.

Absolutely delicious! I had the lemongrass “chicken” vermicelli salad which was super fresh & tasty and very filling. My friends had the pho & laksa which I got to taste and also throughly enjoyed. Portions were huge! Great vegan restaurant, highly recommend!

Very good 100% vegan restaurant. Even though I’m not a vegan, I found the food is very tasty and worth a visit. They have a wide range of different styles of food from Burgers to Baos. My personal favourite is the Pineapple Fried Rice. Another Must Try is the Salt and Pepper Tofu. The Vietnamese and Thai sauces are so good, I almost forgot I’m eating vegan food. They have quite a range of gluten free dishes. The restaurant is comfortable with lots of space. There is also lots of parking at the back. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.

Delicious vegan food, huge menu with a great selection. Service is lovely and quick and the restaurant is warm and inviting. Also great selection of vegan gelato! Wish we had more like this in South East!

My favourite place to eat in Melbourne. Flawless food, great, friendly service and 100% vegan. We have had a few gatherings here with both vegan and non vegan friends all were extremely happy and amazed at the quality of food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommended for vegans and non vegans. They also have a selection of fabulous cocktails. Asian noodles, burgers, waffles, rice, the menu is huge, the only problem I ever have is deciding what to have and each time it becomes my new favourite! 5 stars all round.

First time to Brother Bon, had their Bun Bo Hue soup. Amazing flavour and perfect with the cold weather outside. Best of luck to this wonderful eatery

Went there with my cousin, the place is very cafe themed. The service is very quick. They have a mixed menu with Asian cuisine, a bit of Thai, a touch of Indonesian - Vietnamese too. The owner is from Vietnam. The drink were pretty. But hats off to the Pineapple friend rice, you must give it a go. The tofu bites are also another must try.

Huge range of vegan options to choose from. If you are vegan, or looking to reduce your meat intake, it’s a must visit. I’ve been coming here since it was Loving Hut. The ambience has improved since the Loving Hut says. I had the bun bo hue which was spicier than I remembered.

In the last 9 years I’ve gone here I’ve never had a bad meal. The food has always been excellent without fail. In my opinion that makes Brother Bon the best vegan restaurant in Melbourne. The menu is a creative fusion of cuisines. The sweet & sour ‘pork’ is a perfect replica of the non vegan version

As a vegetarian it’s hard to find a really good vegan/veg restaurant, but I was beyond astonished by this place and the food! If I took a carnivore here they wouldn’t even be able to tell the difference, and the flavours are great! The tasty cocktails were a bonus too. I’ve been telling everyone that will listen about this restaurant and I’ll 100% be back again! Thanks guys for the great experience ❤️

Would definitely recommend the fried chicken with sweet chilli and aoili and spicy chicken dumplings. Both were divine. Well the broken rice wasn't that impressive, nothing special. But will definitely be back to try some more dishes ! Quick and attentive customer service. Thanks 😃

Excellent food, very extensive menu. Everything is vegetarian but the dishes with 'chicken', for example, were such a pleasant surprise. At times it was difficult to imagine what you were eating wasn't actually chicken. Quick service, cheerful staff, very clean. We'll definitely visit again.

Excellent food, affordable for what you get and brilliant customer service. A wonderful family owned all vegan restaurant with a really lovely back story. The food was so delicious - we aren’t even vegan and will go back to try more. Highly recommend the chicken sando. The staff are really welcoming and warm.

Solid selection of vegan food with lots of choices suitable for everyone. I tried the katsu chicken sando on my last visit which was great and have had one of the burgers on another occasion. It can get pretty busy, so consider making a booking.

Best restaurant ever!! And not just because it’s vegan! The food is AMAZING, the fact it is vegan is just a bonus!!! Took my dad there who was sceptical at first, but didn’t take more than one visit to convert him! Love love love. Couldn’t recommend more. (My pics don’t do it justice)

such an amazing vegan place! came here for the first time tonight after hearing amazing reviews and was not disappointed. the menu is huge and there is so much to choose from, and the restaurant was very clean and had good ambience. the service was a little slow, but we did come on a sunday at around 8 so it may have been to do with that. ordered the char kway teow with beef which was super fresh and delicious, and also got the thai green curry veggies with chicken which was super yum. will definitely be coming back!

Some of the best food I have ever eaten. I was blown away by the mushroom bao buns.. Then came the duck pancakes.. the duck was cooked to absolute perfection. The chefs in this restaurant are phenomenal! Delicious food, this place is an absolute must

Great variety of food for vegans and non-vegans. My first time trying vegan fish and chips and it was great. Atmosphere is light and spacious with good service. We also got pepper stir fried noodles, Taiwanese popcorn chicken, nasi goreng and deep fried banana roti for dessert. Everything was tasty.

  • 5/5 Sofía E. 1 year ago on Google
My new favourite restaurant!! Everybody's friendly and attentive. Sizzling duck and roti/curry taste sooo good!! I'm glad we found this amazing place. I wish they'd make cooking classes.

  • 5/5 M M. 2 years ago on Google
Great food, all vegan asian style meals, for "mock meat" options there's duck, chicken, fish, pork, and beef as well as tofu and eggplant. Plenty of seats inside, and always packed full people. There's parking available at the back of the restaurant. The taste is great, and on the expensive side of meals. Worth it if you're a vegetarian on the lookout for good food. Located on High St, next to Chemist Warehouse near the traffic lights, you won't be able to miss it. It use to be the old NQR store 15 years ago, before being turned into a vegetarian (loving hut) restaurant.

Amazing vegan food! Hugggge menu to choose from and options to suit every kind of eater. Staff are wonderful and this is such a nice place for dinner. Been here multiple times and tried a few of the dishes and none have disappointed! Would highly recommend to all food lovers!

Food was quite nice with lots of options available The pineapple fried rice is very good but should request it with less oil. Netted spring rolls also nice. Brown rice is also very nice. The pricing was a bit expensive but good service and hot food.

  • 5/5 Joshua N. 1 year ago on Google
I’m no vegan and this place is truly great. The menu is massive so there is heaps to choose from. The build your own bao is good idea, not done that before and it was very tasty. Seems like the duck wraps are a favourite which were also great. Few specials that looked pretty nice on the board too. Staff were friendly and everything comes out pretty quick! All in all cool spot for some vegan food.
