Ok this will be a long review as my family and I have a lot to say. I found out about serotonin eatery through tiktok and decided to go for lunch today. We booked a table in the Japanese booths for 1:15. You have to pay a $10 fee per person for the table and it will be released back to you if you show up on time. When we walked in, all the Japanese booths we taken and the waitress had to ask one of the family to leave even though we already had a booking and were on time. The menu is overpriced for the amount of food you receive but is is good. The menu has vegan and gluten free options. We came in on a very hot day and the cafe has limited airconditioning, we were all hot and hungry. One of the menus they gave us was not in use and expired which was not good because my mum wanted something that was on the old menu. We ordered our food through the waitress and half way though waiting she came back and told us we have to wait a while as they were very busy. The food came and it was nice but it wasn’t enough to fill up my dad. He said “overpriced for two pieces of toast and some avocado”.

The magic coffee was perfect The meal was not bad.... BUT customer service was terrible and so slow My wife and I used to come here to have a delicious acaci bowl, but this time, everything was different. Apparently, new management doesn't know much about hospitality,

I don’t care for the weekend surcharge but everything else about Seratonin is spot on. Loved my gingerbread latte and the delightful presentation, thoroughly enjoyed my galaxy açai bowl and the positive pancakes. Both were visually stunning and you can barely believe they are actually nourishing you to boot. Free parking is also a breeze despite the inner city location and the ambiance is just as you would expect from a moniker like Seratonin, it really is a happy place Original review Love having a swing on the chairs outside while sipping a fresh green juice. There's just such a zen vibe at this place (you can even order happy pancakes). I had a Mexican inspired dish which felt really clean and light. Definitely one of my favourite places to go when I want a healthy option. A really thoughtfully designed space creates a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere.

We used to love going to Serotonin. This time the service was poor and very slow. The nutrition bomb was mostly spinach, did not have sauerkraut (as promised in the menu) and came with a cold and tiny poached egg. The extra hot coffee was not. And to top it off the prices are high, a lot higher than earlier this year.

Serotonin Eatery has been on our go to wish list for some time now so was glad to be able to visit today and try some of their feel good food with friends. With its inviting interiors, friendly team members and a good range of menu dishes this vegan/ vegetarian cafe certainly was a buzz of activity. The interior has regular seating and sunken Japanese tables (which need to be booked) and their outdoor courtyard has swinging seats. An entire side of the menu was devoted to drinks and I happily explored the non coffee options for a change opting for the peanut butter latte. Smiles a plenty of the arrival of our hot beverages. We were split down the middle of sweet vs savoury dishes with two opting for the açai (there were two different açai bowl options (both looked amazing). I had the Smiling Avocado with poached eggs and someone else order the impressive special tacos ( with roasted cauliflower) all were packed with flavour and presented really well. We finished the meal on a positive with the Positive Pancakes and their tasty banana hit. Definitely recommend for a healthy meat free brunch packed with plenty of flavour.

Ate here today with my family. Firstly it is a really lovely environment. Lots of great art, swings, cool clothes for sale, really comfy set up. The menu has a massive choice for drinks and food. Everything is plant based & very nutritious. The hot & cold drinks are so goooood. We tried pancakes, pizza, a pumpkin dish, nutrition bowl and lots of sides. They were all amazing and huge portions. Everything was medicine for your temple & soul. We will def return. Amelia served us and she was fantastic. Really enjoyed the whole experience. Def we highly recommend

Highly recommend the o-love pumpkin! Subtly sweet and salty, amazing combination of soft and crunchy textures. The mushroom tacos were also really great! The dish was flavorful and the mushrooms surprisingly had a texture similar to that of shredded meat. Portions were just right, satisfying but not overly full.

I do enjoy the smoothies here and it’s a nice little space next to the park, but unfortunately the food just doesn’t sit right for me. I recently had the bagel and found it very difficult to eat and keep together, everything was pickled and overall mediocre. I also find the prices quite high for the quality of food.

Had a fantastic, nutritious and luscious brunch at Serotonin Eatery. Our dining experience was amazing. I love that Serotonin has a wide variety of nourishing food and everyone with a specific diet can dine in. Not to mention the very instagramable place, it has a lot of aesthetic corners. The swing chairs are just one of the cool features of the restaurant. The place was just so relaxing.

Great place to dine in I think healthy food can be tasty as well. Ordered the pancakes but the berry’s were sour as. I got to try the pancakes on their own from the sides and they tasted really good with the banana ice cream.

So I found this cafe through TikTok and thought to take my partner and my friend with me for a nice breakfast date. yesterday we went to this cafe for breakfast and firstly we had to wait 10-20 minutes near the entrance door to be served then finally someone came to serve us and give us a table, after that they didn’t even bring us a menu or let us know to scan the QR code on the table which we weren’t aware of, we waited for a while until we noticed that there was a QR code on the table so after we scanned the QR code there wasn’t many option on the menu so we decided to make our own breakfast option and my partner went to make an order in the front desk and they told my partner that they ran out of toast like what in the world how can a cafe ran out of toast🤦‍♀️ I was so annoyed and my partner asked for plain pancake on the side with 2serve of scrambled egg and 1serve of poached egg for 3 of us, after almost one hour they served our food but it was the wrong order they served us a one serve of mainly pancake dish even tho we said 3 serve of plain pancake on the side of eggs since they ran out of toast, but they said that that’s how we ordered so then we were like it’s okay we will just take that and the pancake was melting too, then they served us with one dish with poached egg and another with fried egg even though we asked for 2 scrambled and one poached egg🤦‍♀️ so we end up not eating anything as everything was cold and didn’t even taste good and left the cafe, the whole thing was so messed up I definitely not recommend this cafe for anyone, save your money and go to a better cafe with a better service

A place that is opposite of serotonin 😒 We were so excited to visit after multiple blogs recommend this place for vegans. We ordered hot drinks that were underwhelming, overpriced and certainly did not appear how they are advertised. $10 each - which is fine if they are worth it. THEN the meal. We ordered nutrition bowls for $28 and added scrambled tofu for an extra $7, so $35 each. We received the bowls, I asked where the tofu was, got told it was getting cooked and I checked several times to see where it was, as we didn't want to start eating without the scramble... 35 MINUTES later a waitress advised us they actually had no tofu scramble.... and we could order a different side. THIS COULD EASILY BE SORTED AS SOON AS THE ORDER IS PLACED, or even when I had asked where it was. So after spending a whole 1 hour and 45 minutes in Serotonin Eastery, I can say I was not feeling "happy". This service happened to multiple tables around us. So for 2 people and a weekend surcharge of 10%, we spent $98.45 which I can tell you right now, I would have rather a can of tinned spaghetti.

Loved this place!!! Fantastic menu, beyond amazing food and a great experience in general! The staff were lovely and were more than happy to cater for my numerous allergies. The food here was probably the best I’ve had at any restaurant or cafe!

This used to be one of my favourite cafes in Melbourne. The energy, the vibe, the owner was so engaged to being nice & kind and all about the service & experience. You’d visit this place on a Sunday morning and it would be packed!!! I moved out of Melbourne before lockdown & just returned to Melbourne. I was excited to go back there only to find out the place WAS EMPTY! I thought the place was closed but to my surprise it was open. There was no greeting, no warmth. I was sat at my table and told to use the QR code. This is soooo different from the experience we used to get upon arrival. The place was SO QUIET, with low music playing - there was no vibe. I think the standards for cafes in Melbourne is quite high. It’s never only about the food but the experience you get. I’m so sad the old owner sold this place. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning but best of luck to the new owners.

WOW!!! This place is AMAZING!! The atmosphere is so warm, drawing the outside in through the big windows. The service was 100%, friendly from the moment we arrived. The food was amazing with most meals plant-based or easily made vegan friendly. Will definitely be back. Highly recommended people visit even if not plant-based/vegan.

Favourite cafe ever. Best vegan muffins in the world…. The positive pancakes are also a go-to when visiting!! So so yummy!! Service is faultless and the food is beyond nutritious and delicious. A “must” if you’re ever in Melbourne.

My partner, Miguel, & I visited Serotonin Eatery on Friday for a late lunch, & we couldn't be happier customers. The staff were SO helpful, as we love to ask for their recommendations, & the cafe itself was BEAUTIFUL (very good for photos). We ordered the 'immune elixir martini', a coffee, the 'positive pancakes', the 'artisan bagel, some roasted 'taters, plus some protein balls & a cookie - to say we were well fed is an understatement, oops. We will absolutely be back despite it not being super-local to us!

I really enjoyed my nutrition bomb salad it was amazing. However the service of this cafe today was not great because customer service and cleanliness was lacking and the staff seemed new. I recommend coming here with friends and family’s for all ages.

Really delicious healthy and wholesome food with huge portion sizes. Almost everything can be made vegan and the dog friendly courtyard out the back is a real plus, serving vegan puppacino's. The service could be better but it was very busy and mothers day so that could be why🤷🏻‍♀️

Ordered from here expecting big things after a friend recommended it. Immediately the price was alarming. $29 for a veggie pizza and $25 for noodles… The small pizzas ingredients fallen. The tiny bowl of noodles soggy. What was redeeming was the flavours. It was yummy but maybe not worth the price. If my wallet permits I’ll give them a second go in person rather than ordering.

This place is incredible! The food is amazing, the philosophy is spot on. So much thought, care and research goes into every single dish and every single part of this business. Emily clearly puts her heart and soul into this place. It is so much more than a cafe. I really, really love it. Can't wait to eat in again rather than just get takeaway as the aesthetics are so beautiful. Highly, highly recommended!

Absolute favourite cafe! It’s rare to find one that actually care what goes into the food they serve. No nasty ingredients, refined sugar free, gluten free options. Always feel so excited to go there and leave with happy tummy and happy face 😁😋

Read really good reviews about this cafe and decided to finally try it. The place is beautiful, and the outdoor area very stylish! I didn’t realize before going that it’s a vegetarian place (my bad haha) they have heaps of options!! The nutrition bowl with the beetroot falafel was delicious! I also tried the mushroom shot on my matcha latte - quite unique addition to their menu. The prices are pretty steep though, with an extra 12.5% fee on weekends.

Came for brunch with a friend. Sun was beaming in which was lovely. Staff were friendly enough. I ordered and almond latter which was watery and bitter, the avo dish which wasn’t great, the egg came cold and the avo was fresh from the bucket. My friend ordered the pan cakes which looked and tasted great. Won’t be back x

A beautiful cafe with food that’s a bit hit and miss. The corn fritters were a huge hit and very flavourful with a bit of crunch. The cold brew was also clean and sweet! Although the pancakes looked amazing, the batter was dry and was swimming in a lot of fruit juice. My Matcha latte was also too bitter for me and lukewarm unfortunately. Overall worth a try and would go back to try something else

After a long walk we decided to stop by and have lunch. Not knowing its a very healthy, vegan cafe. Their menu is very different than others as they specialise in healthy, organic and mostly vegan food. You can have eggs though. The coffee is served in a very small cup. Mine looked not really well made and has a stain on the cup. The food, well. It’s healthy. The dressing which the food is prepped with, is quite delicious but on the bottom of the bowl. Staff are friendly but unorganised and not very professional. My coffee took a while, but the table next to us had to asked three times for their order. Tables were not cleared after customers left. Therefore the place looked “dirty”. I won’t return as for the money they charge, it’s not worth it. Sorry

Great place to try out new ways to eat. Do not go here for average brunch, they don't serve meat on any kind. Vegetarian and vegan delights are the order of the day. Generous and filling selections or self chosen combinations to delight the senses with a sumptuous array of sweet treats to eat in or take home to indulge in later. I had an awesome dirty spicy ginger latte and the fungi. Satisfaction guaranteed 👌🏼 The staff are also awesome. If you don't want to queue, warning this place is very popular so be prepared for patience or come in off peak times. Eithe way you wont regret it. Devine ❣️😋💯

I went here with my brother and his partner, the atmosphere and food were nice. However, we waited 10 minutes to be seated (the staff walked past us multiple times). We try to order online - nothing is available? Overall the food was good despite being overpriced, but the service was the worst I have ever had. A huge 'weekend surcharge' was applied to our service, yet there were no signs about it and we only found out AFTER paying. Brothers partner asks where the sign is and they say 'oh we lost it'. not good enough.

Incredibly disappointing experience. I brought relatives from interstate and we waited 30 mins for our drinks with ‘smiles’ which were not at all what you would expect from what you see on their social media, 45 mins for food and the açai bowl was missing the magnum with no explanation until I asked (they had run out), and the pancakes also were not presented as advertised. At the hour mark our third meal still hadn’t arrived and we had to leave to get to the airport so requested a refund for that portion of the meal. There was no apology or explanations from the staff, and no offer of a substitute for the missing portion of the açai bowl or partial refund. The table next to us were also wondering where their food was at the hour mark and ready to leave. Not worth the cost ($85) including a 10% weekend surcharge.

I was a bit apprehensive returning to the cafe, based on recent reviews. But I have to say, the food and service were just as I remember. Drinks arrived within 10mins or arriving and food within 20mins. One daughter said the nachos were the best she ever had, the other barely said a word while she downed her avocado on toast. I had the pancakes, which were perfect and my very meat-eating husband had the nutrition bowl and was so full, he couldn’t finish it. Overall, great experience.
