👍👍 Excellent food! I’ve been walking through Fitzroy trying to figure what I want to eat for dinner and the “vegan ramen” sign caught my attention. I ordered one of their “must try” dishes - the vegan Agedashi with tofu and eggplant - and it is indeed a must try! Amazing flavours, very generous portio... People often mention ramen, vegan, delicious, Ramen, good, tofu, ordered, tasty, amazing, Japanese,

Tonight I had a vegan gyozas, spicy tofu ramen, tan tan sesame creamy ramen and a mini vegan bean and potato burger. To start, the vegan gyozas were absolutely delicious. Soft skins and a yummy filling. The vegan mini bean and potato burger was nice, but it needed some more sauce for me. My spicy ramen was missing some spice but it was full of soy caramel flavoured soup base which was absolutely amaaazing! The ramen had cashews, mushrooms and other goodies. This was a major highlight. My partner had the vegan tan tan sesame creamy ramen which was texturally really tasty and full of full of vegetables. With home delivery this place is awesome and definitely worth trying. Previous review - December 2017 Hungry tonight I really wanted some Japanese. I ordered some Broadbill tuna which came in a bento box and OMGosh it was amazing!!! The vegies and sides that came with it were so fresh and tasty that they just melted in my mouth. The only improvement that I could suggest was that the tuna was a little dry, maybe it was a little over cooked?? The accompanying sauce was excellent though. My partner had a vegan ramen which I tasted and it was excellent, once again the flavours worked so well, and the broth was amazing!! Just delicious... I am sooo trying that next time! This is one amazing restaurant, I can see why it was so packed tonight. This place is a MUST visit. Wow.

One of the best Japanese restaurants in the city ! I love the Vegan TanTan Ramen - their signature ramen soooo much. Very unique flavors of soup base with chewy noodles, everything is just on the point ! The croquettes are crispy and tasty too ! Tiny but busy restaurant. Have to wait for around 30 mins for the meals, but it’s worth the wait. Great atmosphere with friendly staff. Pleasant and satisfied experience. Highly recommended.

Very cool spot on the corner of Gertrude & Smith st. It’s intimate & comfortable, while still giving off a very cool Japanese meets Fitzroy vibe. Majority vegan menu but you don’t really feel like you’re missing out. We ordered the prawn gyozas which actually might’ve been the best dish of the night. Crisp outside and a delicious prawn stuffing inside. For mains we ordered the bean & potato croquette curry - was okay, it lacked distinctive flavours and the croquettes were pretty bland. Also ordered the spicy tofu ramen which was definitely a good quality ramen. Big quantity, hearty & tasty broth (though it lacked the spice I was expecting) and the vegan mince was surprisingly good! We also ordered wine which was much pricier ($13) than I’d expect for a pretty ordinary wine. Overall very good (but not great) meal, and a nice spot to eat at on a cold Melbourne evening.

A lovely and must-try Japanese Restaurant that sells vegan ramen in Melbourne, Neko Neko @nekoneko_fitzroy in Fitzroy. • Here we tried: 🥟Vegetarian Gyoza 🍜Vegan TanTan Ramen (Creamy Sesame Broth, Veggies + Wood-ear Mushroom, Soy Meat) 🍜Miso Yuzu Kosho Ramen (Miso Shiokoji Broth, Mochi Cheese Pocket, Housemade Yuzu Kosho) • To begin with, the vegan gyoza was spot-on! The flavor was amazing and the sesame-peanut topping sauce was very tasty too, a must order from this restaurant. • Both ramens that we ordered were also delicious. The ramen broth was probably a bit more oily than expected, but the flavors were good. The TanTan Ramen was loaded - there were a lot of different veggies in the bowl and the soy meat was also flavorful. The creamy sesame broth was also has a rich and complex flavor to it. It was pretty good for signature ramen and the noodle was cooked to our liking - a bit on the firmer side. • The Miso Yuzu Kosho Ramen is another one that was pretty interesting. This is a combination that we never tried before but we really liked the depth and complexity of the broth, it was an umami bomb in the bowl - that mochi cheese pocket was quite addictive too, crunchy exterior with soft-chewy like-texture on the inside. • This is such an incredible ramen place, the restaurant is a bit tiny but the atmosphere was pretty chill and relax. We won't hesitate to recommend this to you guys to try. •

The spicy tofu ramen I had was super delicious. Portion was large so it's bang for your buck. Broth was filled with flavour. All vegan menu so there's tons of cruelty free options!

Excellent menu, the perfect amount of options (not an overwhelming amount to choose from) with plenty of vegetarian/vegan and gluten free options. Various seating options, we sat at the communal triangle table in the centre which is great! Meals are tasty and wholesome. A gem for Gertrude 🍜

Neko Neko is a cute restaurant with a wonderful concept. The portion size is fantastic. The food was delicious and fresh with a high component of premade sides and toppings as you would expect from a restaurant that sells ramen and bentos. It is certainly not your local cheap eat and a bit pricer compared to competitors such as Shujinko, Mr Ramen San and Udon Yasan. That said, one would appreciate the care and quality of their dishes and the variety of vegan options.

Ordered the Spicy Tofu Ramen, Tan Tan Ramen and Vegan Gyoza. The food was good. I'm not a vegan so the taste for me was a bit different but my wife loved it. The location has a toilet in the back (through the kitchen).

Very cute spot. Came here with friends. Small but food is amazing and healthy. I had the salmon and tuna sashimi bento. Love how it’s laid out and it tasted amazing! Highly recommend if you’re after something light but delicious for lunch.

Went with 3 friends and all 4 of us left happy and impressed with our lunch. All 4 choices were yum, reasonably priced and service really good. Be aware it was over 2pm and we still had to wait a few minutes outside as it's really busy for such a small place. Highly recommended for vegans or not.

I ordered the Vegan Tan Tan Ramen, it tasted amazing! I have read people's reviews finding it too salty, I don't eat too much salt myself but I believe this is how the flavour should be and I enjoyed it. I would get it again. The customer service is standard, no smiles but if you are there for food, you won't really mind, it's not a bar at the end of the day. It is quite pricey so I would probably eat here every 3-4 months. We waited maybe 10-15 minutes for our 3 Ramon's and loved it. Very colourful, fresh, you can tell they take pride in their food. Cute and quiet atmosphere, some customers came alone. At one time there was maybe 6 people eating. I recommend this place if you have a little extra money to splurge.

Best place for vegan Japanese. It never disappoints and I’m always inspired to go back home to try and make a dish that tastes just like theirs.

I don’t know why it took me so long to go here. Great food and vibes. You don’t have to be vegan the food tastes delicious either way. The eggplant dish blew my mind. the softness of eggplant but crunchiness of the seeds and cauliflower. WOW!!!

I’m obsessed with the yuzu kosho ramen and the vegan Agedashi tofu bento. Everything is so filling and incredibly tasty. I used to live in Japan and this spot hits all my vegan ramen cravings. The kitchen is small so the food can take quite a while to come out at lunchtimes. If you’re in a hurry they usually have takeaway lunch options at the counter

Food lacks texture and only tastes salty. A really cozy place, very noisy! It feel like sitting in a market having your food. Pay at the same price , you will get better Japanese food in city. There are vegan options, but if you have been a vegan for years, I do not recommend this restaurant.

Love it! Tbh I like how the sides have heaps of veggies. I ordered tofu and eggplant Bento Box. The glaze is amazing, mushroom flavour makes it even better. The eggplant is soft and full of flavour. My frd ordered curry fried salmon with rice, looks good. Fyi, they only have a staff toilet, you will need to ask to access it. The food is definitely not cheap but for the quality and quantity, I think it's worth it! Will definitely go back and try the ramen next time 😗

Beautiful presentation but underwhelmed by the taste! Others said this tan tan sesame ramen was too oily and I’d have to agree! Might get again but wouldn’t rush back! Added the tofu bean curd rice pocket which was nice! The red cabbage touch was nice but the ramen lacked something and benefitted from the addition of soy sauce. Would be curious to try the soy milk matcha that is homemade! The eggplant bento is my new favourite and the pickles and all the veg that come with it. The staff sometimes could be friendlier. Depends who you Speak to on the day. The fried potato croquettes are also delicious and the hojicha soy latte in the fridge

Was unsure if it was table service or pay at the counter and didn’t receive instructions when I entered, she just gave me a menu. Didn’t really like the spicy tofu ramen, it was a bit oily, very little tofu. It took 20-30 min for the dishes to arrive.

We tried all the three delicious vegan Ramen. Prawn gyoza, Neko Neko, tan tan and spicy tofu ramen. The best thing was surprisingly the green tea! Will definitely come here again!

Loved their Bento set with crispy salmon. Vegan Ramen was also. Super tasty. Prices are perfect and services are quick and warm. I wish they had a bigger place, in that small place one might feel like to just finish the food quickly and move out. Will visit again definitely.

Had an amazing dinner here with my partner. She was delighted with the miso ramen. I indulged in the swordfish karaage. Both of us were extremely happy with the quality and taste of the food. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend!!

Crispy salmon was recommended at the order, the combination was absolutely good looking and tasty. I’m kind of a vegan-bottom-of-the-list guy, but definitely going back again soon.

Love this place. The ramen broth I chose seemed a bit more oily than expected, but flavours were good. Service was excellent. You can tell the owner takes pride in Japanese cuisine and culture. Worth the dollars spent. Also great that custom orders could be made. Always appreciate a flexible kitchen.

The food was delicious, staff member at registrar was extremely rude. Tried to make us feel stupid because we asked about a dish that was only offered on weekends. She didn’t smile once, and on leaving did not say good buy. Please see pic of staff member who was rude. We would highly recommend the food, however when you are paying money to eat out there is no excuse for rude customer service.

If NekoNeko were competing for best vegetarian ramen in Tokyo’s Olympics they’d win Gold! A must when in Melbourne!
