October 2022 Still a bloody good place for a chocolate thickshake. And the gelato is delicious. 2021 I went here for dessert with my partner. We shared some absolutely delicious ice cream and a chocolate milkshake. This place is fantastic. The ice cream was soo good, my thickshake was thick, creamy and it is suprisingly good given that everything in this shop is vegan and plant based. It doesn't get any better than this!! This place is a must visit. Previous review - June 2017 I have been trying to find a great chocolate thick shake for some time now. You know when you get something on your mind and you just can't get it out of your head? Haha Well today was the day to fix that craving! I called into Girls and Boys which is a vegan/vegetarian ice cream shop. OMGosh this place is amazing!!! I had a chocolate thick shake ($8) but it was worth it. It was definitely a meal in itself!! Perfect, no need for brekkie this morning haha This place is definitely worth a visit. If you want good heathy sustainable food this is definitely the place to go. Alternatively if you just want some yummy ice cream etc this is a great choice too haha. Enjoy 😋

Ice cream sandwiches are big and too delicious! Pretty good for a vegan dessert place. (Ofcourse it can never replace real ice cream and cookies- just saying!)

Hold. The. Phone. This place is amazing!! A full vegan menu and plenty of gluten free options. I got a caramel sundae w/ chocolate macadamia gelato and it was AMAZING. 10/10, would definitely eat too much ice cream and suffer through the stomach ache again.

Tried the vegan ice cream at Girls and Boys for the first time. I had the wattleseed and macadamia ice cream. It was a great flavour that wasn’t too sweet. My friends had the mango and lassi which they loved. They also sell juices, smoothies and have many lunch options.

I ordered a vegan lemon tart for my birthday and it was incredible!! So zingy and lush without being too sweet. The flower decorations were perfect. Everyone said it was the best lemon tart they’ve ever had and I agree!! Thank you so much, will order again

Purchased the Raspberry, Yuzu and Lemon Sponge cake for my dad’s birthday. Everybody scoffed it! Deserves an 11/10 it was that tasty. Will be back for the next birthday!!

The BEST ice cream EVERRR it is so good and delicious. I got cherry ripe and peanut fudge scoops with a topping of the berry sauce. The staff were also really nice and kind. 10/10 would go again for the rest of my life everyday🥰🥰

This dessert place offers ice cream, cakes, ice cream cakes, cookies, ice cream sandwiches, sundaes, milkshakes and more! All kinds of cold, vegan desserts! Staff is friendly and lets you sample ice cream flavors, if you can't decide. Overall, the taste of what I had here was okay. A bit too sweet for me. But maybe your sweet tooth will like it better! The colorful store is located directly next to the restaurant called Vegie Bar. There are only a few seats indoors.

I got the caramel sundae with Biscoff gelato and it was quite possibly the most delicious thing I’ve ever eaten, oh my goodness. So many amazing options and friendly service. Can’t wait to come back!

The best vegan gelato we have had anywhere. Got two ice creams on waffle cones, one with pineapple flavour and the other with honeycomb and cookie dough. Great scoop portions, friendly staff and store vibe. Can't wait to come back when we are in Melbourne next!

Insanely good vegan ice cream and dessert shop. Got the sundae (you chose two flavours) with the cookie dough and sticky date pudding, and it came topped with caramel sauce, huge chunks of choc chip cookie and little buckwheat crispy bits. There was actual cake pieces in the sticky date, and ribbons of cookie dough in the ice cream. Very sweet and rich but it's exactly what you want in a sundae and it was so good! I recommend getting a one scoop ice cream if you're alone, and the sundae to share with others. I also picked up a slice of carrot cake to eat later and it was so delicious. Cream cheese frosting, soft, moist cake - probably the best carrot cake I've eaten, vegan or not.

My favorite smoothie place in that side of town. The food is all vegan and very tasty too. It’s a must try and will always keep coming back.

The ice cream is nice but the service is beyond terrible. There were three staff members working, only us and one other patron in the store & it took them 15 minutes to even acknowledge our existence. We just stood at the counter staring at them like ghosts. Even if you’re busy it’s easy to say “will be with you in a sec” or just ANYTHING. When we finally were served there was no acknowledgement that we had just waited 15 mins to buy a pre-made item from the fridge. Won’t be returning - terrible staff.

Super disappointed because we got served half a scoop and the people after us got a new server and they got the proper amount. Pretty expensive ice cream so not very cool. Usually really good. Also please make a new flavour soon🙏🏼

Had the cookies and cream and the miso caramel. Overall everything was great but wasn’t wow-ed. The staff felt a bit unfriendly and didn’t want to work here. Anyways should go give it a try if you’re around!

The cookie dough is my favourite! Gluten free options are great. All vegan too! Maybe one day there’ll be a gluten free cone option

The staff is sooo nice and helpful and their ice cream is very delicious! The sundaes and milkshakes are great and you can choose up to 2 flavours for both! They have a wide range of desserts you can treat yourself with

Not one to usually leave reviews but I went yesterday and wow!! Amazing desserts and the service was great. Carlista was so lovely and charismatic. She gave us generous icecream sundaes and made our night!

Great sundae however, service was quite slow and it felt like the young girl serving was casually taking her time. There's no way to tell everything is vegan.

The ice cream is excellent and the service great. However, it is always a bit soft and very quick to melt. Turning down the freezer temperature a few degrees would really help.

Amazing vegan ice cream. Plenty of options and PLUS you can get your ice cream dipped in chocolate. Also de guy serving us was pretty nice and patience.

Very dissatisfied. Chips at $7, good. Stir Fry at $24, good. Bread at $4, bad. Only one teeny tiny 10 cent piece of bread. Picture showed 2 good sized pieces. Pad Thai at $24, bad. Why did I only get noodles? $12 for a piece of cake? Where? We got a $4 mouthful of cake... Why was it not in a keep warm bag? Got the food and it was quite cold. NEVER order from this place.. We spent $90 here and got maybe half a meal.. Very very very unhappy with these thieves.

If i’d have been fed the ice cream blindfolded i’d never have known it was vegan! Some of the best ice cream i’ve ever tasted including dairy! Guy serving behind the counter wasn’t even phased by us wanting to try heaps of the flavours first, definitely worth a visit!

SO TASTY!! Would never even know it was plant based, flavours were great I HIGHLY recommend the cookie honeycomb icecream. Big portions and not too rich. Staff was so friendly and we got to try all the flavours before deciding what to pick, will definitely be coming back ✨

Throwback to these two bowls I had for delivery from Girls & Boys. I’ve been wanting to try for a long time. Had their 💛 Golden Sunrise Nourish Bowl and 🍐 Pear & Cranberry Bircher. Golden Sunrise consists of a smoothie blend of 🥭 mango, 🍌 banana, turmeric, hemp seeds, 🥥 coconut milk and dates, topped with nuts, raspberries, and coconut flakes. The Pear & Cranberry Bircher is good id you’re looking for something a bit heavier and filling as a meal. Definitely will keep you full.

Amazing dairy free ice cream and desserts with gluten free options. They all look so good it is hard to choose but they will let you taste and see.

We were at this establishment on Sunday at 330pm. Whilst we love the vegan ice creams at this joint, we were a little saddened at the service. We were seated at cushions in the veggie bar takeaway section as a family and we were asked to leave for the benches outside (in the blistering hot sun) without an explanation why. It would be good for the venue to have clearly labeled signs and also educate staff to explain to patrons that indoor seating is not permitted (if that’s indeed the case). Apart from that, the ice creams were brilliant.
