What I love about living in southbank is the fact that It’s full of hidden gems ! Such as this cafe, I only knew about it recently and I like it so much. Great atmosphere, warm welcoming vibes, and friendly staff. While the first floor is like having a coffee in an art gallery; the second floor is also fabulous, it’s a prefect place to work or study a little. I can confidently say that I can recognise the passion behind each coffee cup being served at this place. Hint: the food here looks delightful.

We have always thought this is just a cafe but turns out they are vegan restaurant too. They open for brunch and dinner. The chickun tasted almost like real deal and the drizzled sauce is very addictive. The pot stickers are juicy and great. The shepherd pie is hearty and fulfilling. Food - 9 Service - 9 Vibe - 8 Price - $$$

The vibe of this place caught by attention as I walked by. Before you go inside it has a bar/ speakeasy feel about it. But ehen you walk, there are a bunch of hanging plants. Two different vibes from the outside and in but both nice. .I tried the loose lead leaf chai with oat milk. I asked for a spicy chai but the chai isn't that spicy. I'm used to potent spice though. It was decent but definitely not the best spot.

A cafe where you feel at home as soon as you walk through the doors. We loved visiting this cafe in South Melbourne. Staff are very welcoming and are up for a chat, coffee is great and so was the warm banana bread. Love the deco, the chairs are comfy and it’s a place for creatives to hang. We will definitely visit again soon.

Second time we've been there, à pleasure again! Staff is very kind, let us work on site for a little bit, and served us excellent coffee and a delicious carrot cake. There will be a third time!

This place has a great vibe, food and coffee. The upstairs is perfect for a relaxed chilled out coffee. They even gave us a complimentary focaccia when we arrived!

While Melbourne is full of fabulous coffee locations, The Ambitious Act is definitely one of the best. Rich, full flavoured coffee, perfect temperature and beautifully textured milk in the mugs of latte we consumed while sitting indoors to escape the brisk morning air. Try it - you won't be disappointed!

I feel so lucky to have found this charming cafe with a warm atmosphere. The cafe itself may be small, but it makes a warm and cozy ambiance. I had a Dandelion latte which was unique, cappuccino and peanut butter cheese cake. Everything was nice. If I lived close, I would go every day💛

The perfect spot to get away from Downtown Melbourne. My sister and I dined in Ambitious Act at the perfect time and day, after 10am on a Monday. We sat under the array of plants hanging from the ceiling and potted plants along the front window display. My strong soy FW tasted beautifully, my sister enjoyed her HC. For breakfast I devoured the Mixed Mushrooms w halloumi, pan fried garlic mushrooms w smashed hazelnuts on house made ciabatta *Delicious! My sister ordered the Chilli Scramble, Eggs scrambled w gochugaru chilli oil, fresh chilli, spring onion and fried shallots on HM ciabatta. My sister was thrilled when she noticed the bouncyness of the eggs and loved taste too! Thank you for a delicious meal and experience. Ladies taking care of the joint were extremely lovely. Thank you!

Best coffee shop in Melbourne. Great coffee, amazing space and beautiful baristas. 😉

Boutique café, next door to Cloudwine Cellars. Kitschy arty style, which makes me feel right at home. Aussies love kitsch, and especially artists are at home in such environments. Which is good as this place is for artists, hence their business name. The menu covers both breakfast and lunch and is called the Brunch Menu, set-up as a play script, cute touch, with a separate Drinks Menu. All so sensible. As a first time visitor, I thought I'd go with one of my fave actors, the Jack Nicholson (refer to the part-menu photo for the ingredients). He did not disappoint. The only recommendation I made is to aim for a finer shred of cabbage (I like to protect my teeth!). Hours are 7days 7-4, with Wed-Sat open until 9pm. Which is handy as they are hosting a Murder Mystery night on 15nov, which will utilize the entire two-storey premises. All budding actors are encouraged to book. Sounds like fun! Offerings: Organic, vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, Wi-Fi, plain sparkling mineral water (no, not on the menu, for some reason). I'd say budget priced and good value.

Breakfast 19/06/22 Best Breakfast I can remember, everything was incredible. Coffee just how I like it. Long black half cold water/served warm, so many struggle to understand a pretty common order sorry I can’t drink boiling water straight. But back to this breakie, it was unforgettable, the chilli scramble wasn’t overly spicy to the point it’s not enjoyable, just perfect and what ever the flakes on top of the scramble added the perfect texture. The avocado was perfectly ripe for the meal and couldn’t get over how tasty the mushrooms were with the sesame seeds 2 perfect coffees and Amy favourite breakie for less than $30 just perfect! Couldn’t recommend higher, just wish I had more photos to get better views for you guys!

I order a chai latte and it was very water, didn't taste good at all. Ipolitely ask If I could change it for a coffee because I wasn't really enjoying it at all...and the barista said that it is what you get he couldn't do anything about it. Not a good service! Nothing worse that drink something you are not enjoying at alll

Came here today as it’s so hard to find vegan options in the area for brunch! Omg I was so impressed!! The food was to die for! And service was amazing! My partner will not eat vegan and they did have non vegan options also but he has a taste of mine and enjoyed it! Which is rare! A must try

Let me start by saying I didn't know this place was vegetarian/vegan friendly when I walked in and sat down. But I had already ordered a drink and was too hungry to find another place but I actually liked the food now not saying being veg or vegan is bad just that it's not usually my preference but the food was very rustic, simple yet delicious and better yet reasonably priced so with that said I would come back again!

Great service, amazing presentation and delicious food with great vegan and vegetarian food, drinks and desserts. The place is intimate but boasts a big personality. Extremely cute place. My partner who isn’t vegan loved his meal. Definitely will be back. Only feedback was the the water had some floaties. But luckily we had our own water anyway :)

Went here for lunch today, as always the coffee was awesome and the food was amazing too. They had a great selection if sweet treats for after lunch too, many vegan, gluten free options. Highly recommended place to eat. Relaxed atmosphere and staff are friendly.

Brilliant vege / vegan cafe with tasty & amusingly titled dishes & super friendly staff. Add in delicious coffee & gorgeous surrounds for the win. Have just found this cafe, & will definitely be heading back for more!!

Cute little cafe, friendly staff and quick service. Takeaway bag is paper based, and not plastic. I ordered a decaf soy mocha and a Kimchi sandwich (vegan option); it was good but not wow. Good ambience overall!

Beautiful and cozy little cafe that for once doesn't feel like Mme.Puddifoots (if you know you know). Coffees great, the breakfasts came over quick and hot and were well executed. The cornbread in my partner's vegan chilli was fluffy as promised but was almost lost in the highly flavourful beans. My chilli scramble was comforting and the mushrooms I ordered as extras were garlicky good! We'll be coming back again and again. P.S - the internal foliage is real 😱😁

Came for dinner. Ordered the light sharing plates from each section. Was so much food and it was all so delicious. Never knew vegetarian food would be so delicious. Everything was delightful and the service incredible. Pack this place out, they deserve it and so do you.

Very simply if I want to eat in South Melbourne as a vegan, I can't see myself going anywhere else but here.

Nice little brunch place that feels like a tropical oasis inside. Can't believe everything's vegan. All are tasty and made well. Had the jackfruit burger which tastes like real pulled pork!
