I honestly don't know how this has such great reviews. As a tourist in Melbourne, I was expecting great things. "Home of flame grilled burgers" I don't know who came up with that... but Burger King (Hungry Jacks) is way better. An average patty which is like the ones you get from the freezer section in your supermarket, this is lackluster. Save your $14.50... and literally go to McDonald's across the road. You'll get better bang for your buck and a more enjoyable dining experience. This place is 1 star at best.

Truly a great burger in the heart of the city. The Aussie burger is great with fresh ingredients. Beet roots on a burger? Yes please! Friendly service and a fair price.

I am always honest, so I will say that the burger I had was very good but I think it was 4 stars. I have decided to award the full 5 stars based on how friendly and welcoming the staff were. Simpson’s burgers reminded me of the kind of burger Dirk would get as a young man in 1937. Simple and unassuming, much like Dirk, the burger bun in particular was remarkable as it provided an excellent foundation for the other ingredients.

Had the poutine here whilst taking a break from the rain, was pretty good, can't go wrong if you like chips and gravy.

Might not seem like much but the burger is seasoned well and the bun is fluffy and every bite is a clean one without the ingredients falling out of the burger. Not a lot of seating available but most people just come and do takeaway. Gets quite crowded during lunchtime.

THE BEST SMOKY BURGER IN MELBOURNE!! So delicious, each patty is individually cooked on charcoal with so much love. Must try when in Melbourne!

Id give it more than 4 stars if I could, without the full 5. The two guys working here tonight we’re friendly and polite, and served my food quickly. The food was hot, really yummy, and well portioned. The 4 stars is because I asked explicitly for no tomato, as I’m allergic, and despite him repeating it back to me, and me being the only customer, I took a bite and had this guy in my mouth. No problem, good food, but could’ve been a little better!

Great food great service. I don't think you can these at other places in Melbourne. The food itself was fantastic. The loaded fries and Simpson's burger are great for its price. Quick service, good food, and good price. Although, the place is quiet small, I'd highly recommend going here for lunch.

The burger here was sensational 😊, clearly the best burger joint in all of the Melbourne CBD area, the $14 or $15 I paid for just one burger, completely justified, the meat was cooked perfectly, the special sauce tasted amazing and the other ingredients just complemented each other beautifully 😍, the only negatives I can think of is the burger probably just needs a stick in it to hold it together and some of the lettuce just came out a bit, but overall definitely worth the mess though, you will definitely not be disappointed with these burgers πŸ˜‹

Have you heard about this burger joint?! My bf wanted to try this place so we ordered it from ubereats. I didn’t know that we actually were so close to the place! πŸ˜‚ We ordered: πŸ” Big Boy - Beef patty with egg, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, mustard and tomato sauce πŸ” Muscle Up - Double everything from Big Boy and added pickles 🍟 Simpsons Chips and Poutine Just by looking at them when I opened the boxes, I was already drooling! The burgers were quite heavy so we know its packin’ juicy patties 🀀 After the first bite, I was in love!!! πŸ₯° The burgers tasted like they were homecooked made with so much love and attention and we could also taste the fresh ingredients they’re using. The buns had great thickness to hold the ingredients together and nicely toasted. The sauces on both burgers were amazing, they really complemented each ingredients inside the burger. The chips themselves were perfectly seasoned with the right amount of salt. The poutine gravy was the best! I’d recommend everyone to get the poutine instead of the regular, just to taste that elevated flavors. Overall, we can see ourselves ordering here again (and probably often) in the future, especially when the burger craving kicks in!

Succulent fatty cooked on a flame grill, tasty sauces, fresh ingredients all in between a soft milk bun. The sides are super awesome, chips are crunchy and of great quality and the onion rings are crispy and super tasty. Small Cafe but with big flavours. Haven't tried other items on the menu like the Poutine, Loaded fries, Fried Chicken but my today's visit will make me come for more.

I had the Aussie burger. I knew them as the handburger with the lot. It includes a meat patty, bacon, egg, beetroot, pineapple, onion, tomato, lettuce, sauce, and bun. And their Aussie burger had all that and their own sauce. Delicious, filling, fresh, great smokey flavours from the grill. The service was friendly and quick, and the atmosphere is a small crowded little burger joint, that lets their food do all the impressing. Thanks a great meal.

First time here and was on my burger list for ages. Loses 2 stars because picked up an order for 4, and none had the double patties we paid for. Burgers were decent, 100% have to double patty if you're a big eater. Unfortunately didn't get it and left me a hungry hungry hippo. Burgers were ready quick just before peak lunch time. Chips are good and crispy as well but lacked a bit of flavour.

Amazing burgers that actually taste like the ingredients they're made of. And fries are crunchy and not too greasy as well. Definitely worth the price!

Nice place for lunch or if you are in and about city. The spicer burger was balanced in flavors with Spicy aioli and jalapeΓ±os. And Yes, the meat is halal.

Absolutely overpriced! The Poutine was a handful of undercooked supermarket quality chips drowned in a gravy cheese glag. Burger was okay, slightly undercooked meat patty but small and easily finished in a couple of mouthful and I'm still feeling hungry. First & last time...this place joins a long list of overrated and overpriced innercity eateries!

Small unassuming burger joint. Grest burger, small buns, fresh ingredients, juicy patty, tasty sauce. Fries were crispy, and lightly seasoned, not too salty but flavorful. Friendly staff.

This is my first time here and I ordered spicy burger, I found the spicy level is just nice and patty is perfect. I really enjoy every bite of it, I think everyone should try this.

I ordered the spicy burger and I loved it! It wasn't greasy at all... The beef party was flame grilled and the salads too were crisp and fresh. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other burgers.

The contents of the burger is quite tasty, the only let down for this burger, in my opinion, was the burger bun. It reminded me of a hungry jacks bun. Although in saying that, this comes down to preference and each individual taste. The poutine was nice, perhaps a bit too much cheese for my liking as they all stuck together in one clump but again, comes down to preference. The pricing of the items is really cheap especially for Melbourne. I would definitely give this place a try for yourself.

Staying nearby and in the mood for a solid burger, this place definitely stacks up and holds against the reviews. Had Aussie Burger which was surely enough burger and tasted awesome, held together well. And a side of gravy fries. Would highly recommend for anyone in the cbd looking for a well priced burger feed that is quality.

Great little spot. Super friendly staff, with delicious food. Burgers are prepared fresh, juicy and well constructed. Warm crispy chips. What more could one ask for? Can highly recommend the Tango Simpson's.

I like ordering the items named after the place, so I got the Simpsons Burger. It is a classic salad burger, the patty was really tasty, with a nice flame-grilled flavour. Lettuce, tomato and pickles were super fresh. You can see that they care about their food. Staff are friendly too. Will def be coming back.

Very humble and down to earth shop with the most delicious and juicy burgers in all of Melbourne CBD! The serving sizes are good and they’re cheaper than everywhere else, not to mention their ingredients taste really fresh and the meat is very juicy. The workers are very friendly too. You won’t be getting the most aesthetically plated burger but you won’t be paying for the instagram markup either. The food is delicious, fresh and 100% worth the money. Would highly recommend The American and The Spicy Chicken.

The burger was good. Staff are not friendly and professional. Not make sense to pay $1 for tomato sauce and also the size of the suace was too small. I like their chilli sauce but again the suace container was too small.

I've had two visits here now. Both take away and with a ten minute walk back to work, I appreciate you loose quality. Visit one: Poutine. Recognisable as poutine but not strong in gravy flavour. Visit two: Chicken burger and chilli cheese fries. Burger, good layer of chicken, nicely mixed with avocado. The bun was a big soggy. The chilli cheese fries was mixed with beans and runny chilli, not the con carne style. Fairly overpriced for $12 to what you got. Won't write them off completely but would try dine in maybe, with there limited seating.

Probably one of the cheaper burgers you can get. It was a decent burger, but I was wanting a bit more flavor. It is definitely one of the bigger burgers in the city so you’re getting a bang for your buck. Solid place, but there are other options like Bettys that I would recommend more.

Went to order the large chips to food two people as we had other food prepared at home. The large chips are pretty much the same as small, so no point in ordering large chips. Need to find Nother chip shop in the area. I've attached the pic of the small and the large box. Ordered of Hungry Panda, said it was ready, go to pick up and still another 5 Min wait for it to be ready.
