Average place, probably would not go back. To sum up, there’s lots of footy screens which is great however in terms of the food, the beef burger is ok (bun is burnt though), the bbq chicken pizza is plain awful (toppings just completely fall off) and it all seems overpriced for the quality. Some decent beers on tap though (in particular the 4 Pines Japanese Lager). Overall, I would look for other options in the area if you’re after a sports pub.

Another Wednesday night, another round of after work pub meeting at The Coppers Inn. Plenty car park close by. Love the T bone steak and Carlton in the Tank! Super friendly staff and great service!

Bustling inner city pub that’s popular with the after-work crowd. Offers an old-school pub experience with typical selection of tap beers and pub food available. Trivia games on Tuesday nights are busy with lots of large groups in attendance. Good spot for a quick drink and meal.

Bad, bad Guinness. Bubbles in the head, and the smallest head on a Guinness I’ve ever had. Tasted off, and missing the creamy smooth texture a Guinness should have. A can of Guinness would have been an improvement on this pint. Food that other customers were having smelt nice. If you like Guinness, this isn’t the place, stick to the Irish pubs.

Had a function in the private room upstairs of Coopers Inn and was relatively impressed. We started with roving canapés which consisted of four items they weren’t to my taste so I saved my appetite for main which was a choice of four dishes. I opted for the eye fillet and there were also five different side dishes to share. I was obsessed with the fries which were had a very yummy salty seasoning on them and I probably polished off a bowl of my own. The steak was delicious and very filling given all the potato I consumed! We finished with cheeseboards which weren’t the most impressive looking but perfect to pick at given how full we were

Went to Melbourne for a weekend getaway and stumbled across this gem. Comedy night was awesome, the publican and staff were amazing, we ended up staying until close as it was too much fun. Will stop in again when we're back in town. Great pub!

Great pub in exhibition st in the shadow of the Telstra Tower. Plenty of screens with sport in offer and a tire with shy channel. There is also a pool table downstairs at the back. Great array of beers on tap and great service. Haven't eaten there yet but may do on my next visit.

Food was great, service from bar staff great, and seen Sarah Maree Cameron for comedy Festival, great set and perfect. Recommend a meal, drink before going in to see a Comedian

The best experience of a country pub without having to drive into the bush. My friends at work and I have tried everything on the menu. If you like spice, get the wings. The owner isn't afraid of making friends. Great for work events!

Attended an end of year function at The Coopers Inn, and it was an amazing place. Staff was courteous, polite and helpful. Amazing atmosphere. With multiple floors the place was able to accommodate our big group.

Kitchen has been terrible for a few years now in various forms. Takes 30 minutes to get a meal, its overpriced, and invariably tastes awful regardless of what's on the menu. There's absolutely nothing that properly answers the "what's good?" question from someone who's never set foot in the door. The deep fryer needs an urgent clean. Everything dark brown or black coming out of it with a taste of the three or four meals that went in previously. The parma looks like something a small child made with supervision from their parent, cheap ingredients. Fish doesn't taste fresh. Burgers ordinary too. $30-35 for a counter meal, where I'd rather just go up the road to the Wheelbarrow or Curtin and spend an extra $5 and at least get something halfway decent. Staff are fantastic otherwise though....

The bar wasnt what I expected for an iconic beer. I thought it would be more boutique and put together but sadly it's just another corner pub. Not much to it. Staff are a bit slow to serve and ironically had no Coopers beer in tap this night. Also so many young rowdy young people, and it was only 7pm. If this is your thing well this is your pub, if not probz save it for the next

Great first visit - came for a comedy gig and stayed for the homey vibes and great beer in the heart of the city. Had a lovely chat with the friendly owner and all the staff were amazing. Definitely recommend.

Loud and rowdy on a Friday night. Seems to be the go-to for local/off-work tradies looking to wind down over a beer with some mates. Unfortunately, we were attending for a pub meal and were seated in the tabled/eating section of the bar where it was blasting with music which only meant those drinking were shouting over it to hear one another. Safe to say we didn't talk too much over dinner and were glad to be out of there once we shovelled our food down. Food was okay. Friends of mine had the parma and said it was nice and the chicken was tender. The calamari was less enjoyable unfortunately. Chips, however, were fantastic and staff and service is friendly and welcoming. Worth checking out for a drink and for a pretty chipper atmosphere, but perhaps not so much for a feed.

Surprisingly awesome pub with great menu and charming vibe. Perfect for pre-theatre eats and drinks. Loved it. Staff were fantastic and our food orders came out quickly. Brilliant 👍

Nice place for drinks, but food is quite average. I ordered stake sandwich which I couldn't chew. Chicken schnitzel was average. Haloumi burger was great. Black rice salad was average and lacked flavour.

One of the best pub around. Friday night comedy is just gold. With lots of great laughs and so many great line ups. Not to mention the good prices for drink in the CBD.

Honestly the worst food I’ve ever eaten. Visited at lunchtime. Order was in quickly, meals took at least 30-40 minutes to arrive. Made the mistake of getting the ‘mushroom pappardelle’ thinking it was fool proof, but no apparently that wasn’t the case. Instead of packet pasta (not asking for much really) in a rich creamy mushroom sauce, I was served what could best be described as the worst attempt ever at making pasta. It looked like a two-year old had been let loose with play dough. They’d seemingly taken the dough and just squeezed it through their fingers into boiling water. Not sure if the kitchen staff were having a laugh or taking a bad day out on customers, but I’ve never experienced a meal that was completely inedible before this. In addition, the rainbow chard was gritty, they clearly couldn’t be bothered cleaning that properly. Charged $25 for the privilege. Place stunk, was dirty (think musty floors and sticky tables). It looks like the kind of establishment you get glassed in if you stay too long. Absolutely shameful, I’d have given it minus stars if I could. Surely anyone ‘legitimately’ giving this place 4 and 5 stars, must have no tastebuds or wisely ate elsewhere.

Friendly staff, nice Atmos, drink prices seem reasonable. Didn't try the food but looked good. Really enjoyed seeing some comedy here as part of the festival.

Pretty good pub in the CBD. Good, menu options. Food is a bit pricey though for what you get. Cocktails /spirits are also a bit pricey. Main feedback is that service has been quite slow recently during lunch times (12.30pm - 2pm) which is not ideal for those working & have limited time for lunch. Yesterday, a group of us (6 ppl) came for lunch at 12.30pm. Wasn't that busy (tables available around us); yet we were waiting over half hour for food, which meant 2 colleagues had to leave early & one didn't even get to have any food. Not ideal

Saw a comedy show at the coopers and it was a great night. Giving 4 stars purely for the wonderful bar staff. They went above and beyond helping us with our tickets and also making sure the footy was on the tv upstairs! Lovely people and a great vibe. Food was ok however my burger was over cooked.

Absolutely fabulous meal, so much quality, so much quantity. Will one hundred percent be coming back, lovely staff too. We had the amazing burger and parmi, and also the croquettes (extremely good) 😌

What a fabulous pub! We had reservations for 6:30pm as we were headed to Comedy Theatre for 8pm show…well, traffic was crazy and we were half hour late for our reservation (we had tried to call but no answer). Went to the bar, and we were seated promptly and then asked the waitress if we would have time to get food. She went to check and see what she could do. Came back within seconds, saying to follow her to bar to place order. Felt like a VIP. Food and drinks ordered. Drinks given immediately and food came out in 20 minutes. Great service. Tacos, wedges, fish/chips amazing. Finished with 5 minutes to spare, getting to show. Outstanding pub, cool atmosphere and vibe. Felt welcomed and they did all they could to make sure we were taken care of. Highly recommend and we will be back!

My wife and I had a weekend escape to Melbourne and decided to book a table for dinner on the Friday evening because we saw they had a stand up comedy night every Friday night. Well- we were not disappointed ! Our meals were delicious, the service and staff were fantastic in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The comedy night was highly entertaining,we haven't laughed so much in a long time. Thank you guy's, we will definitely be back the next time we stay in Melbourne. Cheers 🍻

Great place for food and drink and a great venue for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival staff were fantastic and accommodating with my wife allowing us to go up early to get up the stairs before everyone else. Watched Sarah Maree Cameron and her show One Womb Please absolutely hysterical 🤣

Not impressed after we asked about 8.30pm, what time the restaurant closes. We were told 9.00pm and duly ordered. Meal was delivered and we were told last drinks at 9.00pm before I had my first bite! Seriously, they advertise until 12am and there were over a dozen people there. Another gentleman walked in at 8.55pm, they took his order, then informed him bar would close at 9.00pm. He would have finished his beer before he got dinner with no chance of having another. Food and service was good except for the lack of honesty.

Small pub with a good vibe. Great place to catch up with friends and have a drink or watch sport on the multiple screens. Good range of Tap beers to please most beers drinkers.

I attended a work meeting at the top floor of Cooper's inn. Location makes them an ideal place for meetings and after work networking (and obviously drinks). Staff seemed professional and courteous.

The Cooper Inn is a typical pub, bar was lively and staff was friendly. Food was normal pub food, which was fresh, hot and came out quickly. I had the beef & stout pie with mash potatoes and peas which hit the spot. Decor is a little tired and could do with updating. If you're looking for a old pub atmosphere it worth a try.

I don't normally bother writing reviews, but this place served me up the best burger I've ever had in my life (Mushroom and Haloumi) Chips have chicken salt on them too!!! Great old school pub in the heart of the city. Highly recommend for anyone that is after wholesome pub food and great service. THANK YOU! I will be back.
