Lune has the best butter taste in their croissants as always, but the overall quality of the pastry seems to be deteriorating every time. The first photo is a croissant from this morning and the second and third photo are from few months back. I am not a professional baker but today it seems to be under developed in some way to me, perhaps under proved or too high temperature causing it almost become a brioche instead of a laminated pastry. The crumbs and the honeycomb structure are missing, and lacking the right texture of a good croissant. I used to come here everyday but Lune is definitely not as good as before, its overrated for an average quality croissant. Very disappointed experience today.

Lune is a quintessential example of everything hipster and everything Melbourne. Expensive, pretentious and hyped but indisputably of truly excellent quality. While some of the croissants can cost up to $15, the attention to detail in the cooking process can only be described as impeccable - with the twice baked process truly worth the wait. It is a little disappointing that they sell out so quickly. If you get to the bakery any later than 11am you'll have very little variety to choose from. The service of the staff is okay but not as friendly as one would hope for.

Exceptional almond croissant - well worth making a detour for this place Came around 2pm on Saturday afternoon, there was minimal queue but only the almond and original croissants were left. Coffee was pretty good but can do better in the area

Pricey but definitely the best almond croissant you can get in Melbourne. They're meticulous about their craft and you can see that from the precision work in their open kitchen The spacious open warehouse interiors really bring out the pastry craft Fairly limited seating area though, this place seems more of a take out spot

We came specifically to taste the Luna croissant and boy oh boy we were not disappointed. I got myself a baklava one and it was better than anything I tasted before. We also had to stand in line for maybe 10 minutes but it was worth it 😁. It is not cheap though. You can have it inside but the space is built as a cafe and not a restaurant.

Pastry is very nice top class and better than hotel standard as the pastry is baked fresh. Best to come early, make pre-orders to avoid disappointments. We only manage to try original, ham and cheese and cinnamon. They quickly run out of their menu selections as fresh batches run out so fast! Best to arrive before 8 or after 11 (this was on a weekday though)

Lune Lab 🥐 - 3-course Set Menu $90 (drinks included) Lune Lab is an exclusive dining experience which serves an innovative three-course croissant set menu. We got lucky to try the @kariton.sorbetes and @lunecroissant collab. @j_hnrivera did such a great job in elevating Filipino food to the next level. I was impressed with the whole menu. We started with the traditional croissant that was off the oven 10 mins before serving. It was fresh, warm and flakey. The second dish was Bulalo. A bone marrow shaped croissant filled with braised oxtail and bone marrow with relish and a beef consommé! Texture and flavour were perfectly balanced. To finish off, we had the bibingka in a croissant version. It had a crispy crust whilst maintaining the sponge cake texture and served with a smoked coconut ice cream! Absolutely amazing! $90 is quite steep for three croissants but the creativity of this menu is utterly worthy.

Croissants were great, very sweet. If you don’t have a sweet tooth you might struggle. Quick service, there was a line but it moved quickly. Coffee was nice. Good vibes and very interesting to see the bakers at work! Unique and fun to see them working through the glass. Would recommend.

Their croissants are a work of art – buttery, flaky, and light as air. The perfect balance of crispiness on the outside and a soft, tender interior is a testament to the mastery of their pastry chefs. Each croissant is crafted with precision, making it a true joy to indulge in. The ambiance at Lune Pastry is both inviting and elegant, making it an ideal spot to enjoy a leisurely morning or afternoon treat. The only negative point is about their coffee and hot chocolate, especially their coffee which is a meh in both stores. Croissant 5/5 Latte 3/5 Hot Chocolate 3.5/5

I’m not a croissant kind of person but came here to see what all the hype was about. I’m glad I did. The shop was an experience in itself. I got the marble croissant and it was excellent. The textures and flavours were pretty amazing and I can confidently say that I am now a Lune croissant kind of person and will be returning.

Lune has no match in Melbourne when it comes to croissant. It has become an institution from the day it opened its doors in its first outlet. The perfection of the croissants comes from the rocket scientist owner and creator. If you haven't tried Lune then you haven't eaten an authentic mind blowing croissant. Apart from your traditional they do have various other flavours.

Extremely popular croissant ! If you are not early enough, you will have to compromise with long queue and limited selection by 1pm on a Saturday arvo!! That was me at 1pm - only the standard croissant to offer! Such is the mark of an extremely success story! The pastry is so light, flaky and crunchy - just the way people like it!! Another great offering from Melbourne! Even the walk there is groovy! Love every bit of Melbourne!!

Nice experience watching the baking behind the scenes. Very interesting for our 5yo to watch the bakers use their hands and machines to craft the dough. Tidy but refined menu. Really delicious food and coffee! Modern, clean vibe with nice textures, colours and materials.

Wow! Well deserved title for World’s best croissant! Coffee there is also very good. If you can go to the Fitzroy branch do that- the architecture and the cafe experience is worth heading over there.

Very cozy ambiance, clean and spacious. Open kitchen commissary where you can watch how they make their famous croissant. Their croissant was good. The Coconut Croissant was my favorite—i love the crispy coconut flakes on top of it! The Jam and Cream Cruffin was just ok, my sister chose it. Their coffee was rich and good. Chai Tea was ok for me. Service was fast, crews were very attentive and accommodating. A bit too pricey though but worth visiting.

Lune: Croissant Perfection Lune is a top-notch spot for Traditional plain croissants. While everything else on the menu is great, the croissants are the true stars. Even though places like Agathe offer similar pastries, Lune's croissants stand out for their exceptional quality and flavor. A must-visit for croissant enthusiasts!

It's a very large croissant shop. There are many different types of croissants, there are a lot of customers, the wait isn't long and there aren't many seats. Inside the shop is an open kitchen where you can see the croissant making process.

September Special Menu! Here are what we ordered 🥕 Carrot Cake ($15.50) 🌱 Beetroot Goats Curd ($11) ⭐️ The Carrot Cake Croissant was overall okay for me. My favourite part would be the cream cheese on top. The crumble under the cream was a bit too hard. Taste pretty much like a carrot cake in a pastry form. The beetroot surprised me with its unique savoury taste. I would love to try all the new croissants of the month but they’re getting more and more pricey!

Well worth the hype. The best croissants I've had in Melbourne. The almond croissant was the best thing we ordered by far. It is the best almond croissant I've ever had by far. Highly recommended if it's available. The wait time was only around 10-15 minutes, and the staff were super friendly as well. The order came out quickly. If you are on the fence about waiting in line then I recommend you wait, it's worth it.

Great day today! Managed to park right outside and pop in here for a plate of delicious croissants! The lemon curd and the almond were amazing. Free self serve very well chilled still or sparkling water. Coffees could be better. Good timing too at 1030. Huge queue after we sat down. Staff member Ben was charming and helpful.

We came on Sunday morning around 10am but the queue is not too long. They serve plenty of croissants. Almond one is the best for me :-) Love their interior even not many tables so suggest to come early before the fav is gone!

Went here on a Saturday afternoon, waited in line for half an hour, and the croissants were great! I liked the almond croissant the most but didn’t care for the lemon one because it's just my taste that I don't like citrus pastries? Having free mineral water and sparking water on the tap weirdly made me happy because I don't always feel like coffee and sparkling water was refreshing after eating buttery croissants. Really nice touch!

Freshly made croissant! The price was a bit high along with the long queue 😂 but it is still lovely, the croissant was a bit small compared to the others I had, but the freshness and crunchiness are worth the money. Good to try but maybe not coming back 😂 LUNE CROISSANTERIE 📍119 Rose St, Fitzroy VIC 3065 ⏰ 8am - 3pm 💰 $26.60/ 3 croissant ☑️🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗

Hands down the best almond croissant I've ever had. We came at around 10am on a Saturday morning and whilst there was a line, it moved quite quickly. It was so cool to see the pastries actually being made and it meant that the pastries were bought fresh. The coffee was also good, though nothing out of the ordinary. I can definitely see the hype around Lune.

There is no doubt that the reputation of an establishment can have an impact on expectations, quality of service, and quality of goods sold. Upon arriving we were greeted with an 18 minute wait in the line just to order - an ode to this establishment’s popularity. The Lemon Curd was good, but not great. The texture left a lot to be desired and the flavour profile presented itself as more of a mediator if anything at all. 7/10 The Pain Au Chocolat, however, was excellent. The croissant was consistently textured and the flavour of the pastry was a definitive highlight. The pastries definitely shine in comparison to other baked goods. 9/10 If going to Lune, the croissants are a definitive order. However, be aware of the waiting times and consider if it is worth the wait. Also be aware this establishment only accepts cashless payment options.

Need no say more, their pastry, croissants, cruffins and coffees are just exceptional. Their monthly specials are always attractive and as good as their regular items. It is always difficult to pick my favourite.

Well if you have never had your mind blown using a croissant, do yourself a favor and visit Lune. Absolute stunning presentation, interior design and quality of the food. I cannot rememeber the coffee quality as all my brain cells were busy calibrating to the taste of pastry and all my taste buds were astonished by the food. Well worth the wait in the queue.

Order Take away and toast your croissants at home is recommended. Long queue so the bread in a large amount was made for a while, not that crispy and hot enough. Average coffee.
