After a few visits ... Food ✔✔ ✔ small serve, noodles were cooked well, average taste and definitely not as good as Singapore ✔✔ for an establishment that valued their "hawker" heritage, value for money on certain items and definitely not on weekends, 10% surcharge. Drinks ✔✔✔ they have beers and your typical South East Asian drinks; soybean milk, etc. Venue ✔✔✔✔✔ large, clean and mostly empty now Service ✔ very bad, not interested. No service, just a cashier. You need to return your tray, etc. to the dumping area after you eat ... signs on the table. Would we go back? If I'm desperate for some noodles, soy sauce chicken and crispy pork belly.

I've eaten here previously a few months ago and the chicken was perfectly cooked, although this is the chicken i received recently... It's a shame because I know how good this place can be yet this is what I was served. :/ The noodles were fine but I wish I could enjoy the full meal.

Not very enjoyable experience. I found this restaurant as it was hyped by foodies in Instagram, but not worth it. ☑️ Waiting time for food was very quick however the biggest problem was it was not served hot. I wasn’t sure if we were allowed to return it and get it warmed up, so we just ate it. ☑️ Flavours are there, but as I said, the food was cold so still not very enjoyable. ☑️ Ordering is by QR code. ☑️ After finishing meal, you have the collect your plates and place them on the trolley where they put dirty dishes. ☑️ 10% surcharge on weekends. ☑️ Place is clean, but ambiance is not very nice.

The food came quick and the restaurant was nice. I ordered a bbq pork and roasted pork set which was quite pricey, around $22. The meat was bland and the sauce was not that good. Overall I’d say it’s not worth travelling all the way here to eat it.

Fxck the negative reviews, I had a great time here. Soy chicken and char siu are the best I've had in Melbourne. If only one thing I wish they could improve is to use less plastic utensils. Don't see the point of using a plastic spoon while eating in. Other than that, excellent!

We tried Hawker Chan’s soya sauce chicken, char siew, soya bean sprouts, and Thai style tofu - and they were all very full of flavours! Loved the soya-seasoned thin noodles that were cooked to perfection. The set up reminded me of a Singaporean food court where you’d come up to the counter to order (while trying to find a table at the same time!). So it was more of a self service eatery and it was very busy, but it made the experience more authentically hawker.

I am a chef by profession( Asian and Japanese),it Was in my bucket list from long time as COVID hit so couldn't get chance to go there. Today I went there with my family and kids Food taste was good but could be enjoyable if it was served hot or at least warm . This restaurant is just over hyped.sorry I usually don't put negative feedback. But I am very disappointment that food was served cold. Restaurant wasn't even busy as we were there around 3:00 pm .only 2 tables were booked. Sorry but won't come Back.

Arrive before peak times to avoid lengthy wait. Flavours are simple and will hit the spot when hungry, like all decent hawker offerings, prices are reasonable for the serving sizes. Cannot recommend the sticky pork ribs, odd tasting and not worth it. Chicken and crispy pork rice or noodles are fine but there are plenty of offerings that do better. For the price its worth a try but not worth waiting for

Food was good but perhaps it is a little overhyped. At around 6pm on a weekday, the premium charsiu and roast duck were sold out. They were also unable to serve half or full soya chickens due to quantity restrictions (meals only i.e. with rice or noodles). Nevertheless, the soya chicken was a favourite - delicious sauce, slippery (滑滑的) skin and very tender leg meat. The roast pork was also not bad and the rice noodles were also lovely. The lean charsiu was dry and sub-par. The fried chicken chop/maryland was also average - tasted alright but nothing memorable. However, loved the chrysanthemum tea. Everything was also very cheap although portions lean toward the smaller side.

Enjoyed the soya chicken and the "premium" chasiu. "Cafeteria" style where you order first and pick up the tray and bring it to a table. The tables aren't cleaned as frequently as they could be, but not enough to deter me from coming.

Came to find out what the hype was about. I've only ordered soya chicken ($13.36 includes extra charge for paying by card) - it's literally sweet soy sauce on chicken and rice, what was I expecting😆. Chicken is tender, outside has a very faint hint of soy sauce (very colorful though), however, the meat has zero flavour. To sum it up, bland food. Staff is okay, place is clean, but it's not worth it, not coming back, won't recommend.

I heard this was Michelin star so we went for lunch at around 3pm and thankfully it was very empty. Got the two most popular dishes which was soya chicken and the roast duck with rice and noodles and the latter was much tastier than the former. Also got soy milk which tasted like the bottled stuff not fresh lol but it was fine

Hawker Chan features the world's cheapest Michelin-starred meal, the ‘Crisped skin soy marinated chicken' which was so tender & delicious. The menu has great variety and is very affordable if you are looking for a great cheap eats restaurant in the CBD. My favourite was the noodles along side the crispy skin soy chicken. The staff were so kind and caring, and we got to try a variety of dishes. The dishes we tried were all quite good with bold flavours. It was a great night with yummy food and good friends.

The food reminded me of home. I got the homemade chrysanthemum tea, which was refreshing and yummy, and the lean char siew with noodles and wontons. In total, it came to be around $19. I don’t have much complaints about the food except the char siew was a bit dry and the wontons were dry. If they had more sauce which was pooled at the bottom, I think it would have been better. I like the atmosphere of the place though. They ask you to line up and order first and then pick your seating. When we went near opening hour, it was empty which was nice. It’s like food court style. The menu, on the other hand, is quite limited, but still includes rice and two different types of noodles.

This was closed for awhile. Then reopened with brand new prices that is about 30-40% more and then weekend surcharge of 15%. Tasted still good. But can’t justify paying $18 for the below pictured. Don’t think I’ll be back. Wasn’t even full after eating it. 🤦🏻‍♂️ at least when it was cheap you could order 2 and fill up.

I eat hawker food often. However this did not meet my expectation. Staff were quite accommodating. But it was quite sad to see that we were the only ones dining in at 7pm

Arrived at 11.30am on a Sunday and waited for about 30 min started from just after the tree put on Lonsdale street. Was excited to try this place as it was closed the time I was in Singapore. Unfortunately it didn't live up to its hype. The food came up lukewarm and the dishes were of inconsistent sizes. The most disappointing dish was the 3 sorts of meat. It was marginally smaller than what the picture looked like and some other people had a more generous serving. My favourite was the chicken with the noodles. The sauce in those noodles are lovely. The ribs weren't great. The char siu was well flavoured but overly burnt and fatty and the roast pork was a bit salty but had good crackling. The teas were good not too sweet. Won't be rushing to get back.

Food here overall was fine, the noodles were a bit mehh but the meat was absolutely delicious, esp the roasted duck. However, there are several things I don’t like about this restaurant - relatively expensive price - somewhat unfriendly staff - weird atmosphere of the restaurant (not so inviting)

I can said I like the Duck, it's very crispy n not too fatty nor salty. I was very disappointed with the dumplings, inside the meats r too dry and not much taste. It's cheap n big portion. We serviced ourself & yet have to paid extra 10% on top of the bill for Saturday to eat in. 😄haha for Sunday will charge extra 15%

I don’t see why this place has so many negative reviews. The quality and quantity of food you get for the price is definitely worth it! 2 dishes were enough for 3 of us. I wouldn’t go expecting to have the best Cantonese food I’ve had at this price point.

Located in the busy Lonsdale Street and they serve Hainan Chicken, noodles, pork and roast duck. The noodles are saucy and tasty. We also ordered bok choy. The food is simple but tasty. They also have lots of seatings to dine in. Very easy to order through the online app.

The bad reviewers had a bit of a high expectation. The food is really tasty, the one in the photo costs 14 on a Saturday. Portions could be a bit bigger indeed and the 10% weekend surcharge for an empty restaurant feels wrong. I'd be back but never when really hungry. .

My favourites from here are their premium char siu on rice, a serve of roast duck, vegetables and fried tofu prawn. Quality sometimes can be hit and miss, but most of the time, it’s really good!

BBQ Pork (char siew) is very very tender. Roast pork skin is crunchy and the meat tastes good, no smelly pork taste. The seasonal vegetable is OK, nothing special about except the price tag. The plain boiled rice is ruined by the sauce, IMO. The sauce is not salty as soy sauce, but leaves a tiny bitter aftertaste. It's better to have plain plain rice with the BBQ pork and roast pork, IMO. The chicken stock rice is better. The homemade chrysanthemum tea is a mildly sweetened mildly chrysanthemum flavoured drink and doesn't worth it. Surprise surprise - credit card surcharge applies. The place feels like a (deserted) school canteen, OK clean. Short wait for the food, but not a big concern.

Hawker Chan is brilliant if you're going for a fully Asian heavily sauced dining experience. Every dish was heavily sauced. It's great if you love your taste buds greased and enjoy fully sauce covered rice and noodles. Hawker Chan delivers flavour 100% However, if you just wanted to try something Asian and like your food lightly sauced or if you prefer healthy dining. Please find somewhere else for that = )

I had high expectation because i tried the one in Singapore. It’s an ok experience for me. The sauce is good, but the meat is not that great. The portion size is lacking for me for the price.
