Very nice breakfast muffin! ------update------- I am grateful of the existence of Slater St Bench. This is because I don't drink coffee myself, but when my boyfriend stays over, he needs his morning coffee. We usually turn to the left on St Kilda Road and go for a walk to a brunch place along Commercial Road to find him coffee. Or, when desperate, get the 7-11 coffee. One magic morning, I finally recalled a friend told me a long time ago, that there's a nice little coffee shop with good pastries sitting around the corner from my place. Just need to remember to turn right when getting out of my building.

A thoughtfully executed cafe with a sharing table in the middle where all the coffee is made and the world revolves around. Staff are very friendly and incredibly observant and efficient. Take a seat and receive a sparkling water in seconds. Finish that water and have it being refilled in seconds again! Beautiful fit out with simple and refined interior design elements of wood, polished concrete and brass. Under stated and not over the top like a lot of places. Fresh croissants and pastries of the highest quality and on Fridays there are donuts too! Oh yeah, it's also the best coffee on St Kilda Road.

Like the way that they link their name with the shop layout. I love the bench in the middle. Great coffee, however I think the latte should be in a glass cup not a ceramic one. The staff was nice and seems they know and recognise their regular customers, great conversation skills. I believe the price should be 4$ for a small white. As mostly every shop in Melbourne do as same quality with 4$.

serving up specialty coffee and delicate pastries there is minimal seating inside but plentiful of outdoor seating - really good for catch ups and chats or even a grab and go coffee the baristas definitely know how to treat the coffee well and are very efficient! upon my visit there was an endless amount of customers coming, one after another, with no customer waiting too long for their coffee would highly recommend! drop by if are in the area!

They apparently don't make a cappuccino - but don’t disclose this and will happily (try to) serve one anyway. Politely asked for a new one as it tasted wrong (burnt) and was missing chocolate powder, but was told that it’s because they only make “coffee”. Lol. 😂 - and no they didn’t rectify it by attempting to make another one or offer a different type of coffee. Go to Toorak Rd, better cafes.

Strange café - insists on not putting chocolate on a cappuccino even when the customer pulls them up on it. They should advertise they only sell lattes then. Guess they can’t make mochas either with that attitude. Really disappointing - bad customer service and not the right approach to hospitality. There are a couple of other cafés when you cross the road so definitely avoid this one if you’re after a cappuccino!

Great spot, very glad I ventured out in the rain today to try somewhere new! I ordered a flat white with oat milk & it was perfect. Bench uses Oatly, which I generally don’t love… but it may have been the best oat milk coffee I’ve had. The baristas are clearly experienced — it’s been years since I did a barista course, but even I could tell they had their milk steaming technique down to an art. Besides coffee, it’s beautifully designed space with a great range of pastries and service that was both friendly and efficient. I had a cinnamon scroll and it was delicious. Looking forward to trying a muffin and an iced coffee next time I’m nearby!

I don't particularly appreciate their black coffee but my better half loves their latte. The atmosphere and service is so good that I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. We look forward to treating ourselves whenever we are in the neighborhood.

Just really good Melbourne coffee. Lovely seating area in and outside on benches with a nice view of saint Kilda rd and the businesses around the area. There’s a tram that stops right in front of the cafe which makes it very convenient to travel to and fro.

Great batch brew! And good quality tea as well. I had this little muffin, and I was afraid it was going to be too sweet but ended up not being sweet at all! Not for sweet loving people but I absolutely loved it! A really pleasant surprise.

Nice little spot when the sun is out but $6 for a small coffee is too much. Better options around.

Having a coffee here is one of my favourite rituals. The ambience is beautiful. My only issue with this cafe is the lack of savoury options and their tendency to run out of food by midday on the Sundays which has happened on many occasions by 11:30am. If not for this, I would give this place 5 ⭐️

The jalapeño and cheese croissant was amazing. Every Saturday get the iced chai/ iced latte- IMO, the best iced coffee in Melbourne.

One of the best coffees Saint Kilda Road has to offer. Dine inside or alfresco, take a walk through Faulkner Park (Adjacent) after your delicious Locally roasted coffee.

Refused to do a dirty chai cause they think it doesn’t “taste good” Well for one, make it taste good then I guess? But secondly- maybe give the customer what they want not what you personally like? It’s not you drinking the coffee isn’t it? Sub par. Only reason it’s not 1 stars is because you got somewhat friendly service after they stopped being pretentious.
