Best porridge l've had in Victoria. Great texture on the porridge, with a little bite still in the oats (nothing worse than some cafe's that serve stodgy porridge.... But not here). Really nice level of sweetness, just enough to enhance and not overpower, cinnamon apple in nice chunks and nicely stewed with good texture (not too soft and not too hard), and the berry sauce is nicely done. The toasted granola adds a nice contrasting crunch to the softness of the other ingredients. There is a good balance in the amount of toppings (not pilled high like some places where the taste of the actual oats gets lost). As Goldilocks would say.. "it is just right". Coffee is always consistently good, the staff are great and friendly. It it has a cool, laid back vibe

First brunch out after lockdown did not disappoint - great juice options and quite a few good vegetarian items on the menu. The smashed avo (with a side of garlic mushrooms) was delicious. The cafe itself has lots of room, not too crowded, with spacious tables that can accommodate large groups. The service was great, too, and the meals came out without much of a wait. I'll be coming back to try the fritters, and potentially some of the toasties on offer!

Really great place for breakfast or lunch. Heaps of room for large groups. Delicious food, i had the "Ample breakfast" which was more than ample! You won't leave hungry. The style is modern industrial with some homely touches.

Stumbled across this place by accident. What a gem. Had to come back to have this avocado breakfast item it was that good! (But I have to say, on the second trip even tho the dish wasn’t identical, it was still yum). Coffee perfect. Both times. Thanks guys. I live on the other side of town but when I venture back in that direction, I’ll be back 😊

Venue: big place! Heaps of space, pretty cute area out the front. No stairs, so easy access for those with prams or wheel chairs clean place also. Food: great food, tasty and fresh. Have a big menu also, won’t be disappointed. Food also comes out quickly, wasn’t a long wait. Coffee and juices were great also. Give it a try

Great food & coffee plenty of space. Good hearty brunch options. Big portions and very decent prices. Nothing overly fancy, good food done very well. Kids friendly options for about $14 are also very large. The space is massive with lots of large tables. Warm and cosy in the winter, cool in the summer. The staff is quite friendly and attentive. If your happy park half a block down and walk up, you'll avoid stress that you don't need.

After some quick Google research of North Melbourne, we were heading to Code Black for breakfast, but feel lucky to have encountered Ample Café first, which is practically next door. The venue and ambience were perfect for a café, there was soulful music playing, the food was excellent, and the service was friendly and genuine. These are the differences that, in our opinion, will always make a family-run restaurant preferable to a chain. As it was unfortunately closed the next day, we were still able to try Code Black, which was also good, but lacked the warmth and “family” feel of Ample Café. If we lived in the neighborhood, we would be regulars here. Thanks again for providing the perfect “breakfast at a neighborhood café” experience, and keep up the great work!

A great local cafe with no nonsense cafe items. Seriously such a genius idea to halve the classic hash browns so its got more crispy bits. I also really enjoyed the benedict and coffee. Reasonable price and also can book online. Some outdoor seatings which makes it dog friendly.

One of the best places around for a good feed. No nonsense, no gimmicks, just great normal food. Always consistent quality, very generous portions, and friendly polite service. A great place.

The food was okay, although not the best I’ve had. I had avo on toast and the feta was so salty. It was still nice though. Main issue was the temperature. It was ridiculously freezing. Staff wear beanies and puffer jackets. If you’re in workwear and expecting to take your coat off and enjoy breakfast, don’t stop here. It was warmer outside, it really ruined the whole breakfast.

Probably THE nicest cafe in Melbourne. I come here every time I need Brekky before a tattoo- the food is perfect, the smoothies and coffees are delicious, the staff are sooo lovely and kind, and the cafe itself is so nice and cosy. 10/10 recommend!

Staff were very attentive and the food was really good! The music was a bit loud and pumping, would have been nice if it was a bit more chill. The milkshake was also really good. Would come back.

Great ambience. Lovely customer service. Had a classic toastie and fresh watermelon juice. It was super tasty and hot the spot for a quick light lunch. Definitely coming back.

We went here quite a number of times during a stay nearby the hospital. The best breakfast I’ve ever had! That danish fetta… yummo. Great coffee, muffins, everything is really good. On top of that the people were so friendly - even offered us a lend of an umbrella on a rainy day! Really nice for us out of towners to have a warm and friendly place to go during our Melbourne stay. Thanks Marcelle and team for everything, you’re all awesome (from Dave and Jo)

I absolutely love this Cafe! The fitout is so warm and welcoming just as much as the staff. Their coffee blend is so tasty too. Food is amazing!

Ample Cafe and Bar is amazing! We not only have work lunches and breakfasts there whenever we can (The food and coffee is so, so good!), but also whilst in Melbourne's many lockdowns, Matt has been so accommodating in providing and delivering lunch packs to many different sites, for our front-line health workers. Sometimes, there has been little to no lead time, yet, it was never an issue for Matt and the team at Ample. I would not hesitate in recommending them. Thanks Matt :)

Delicious food and great service. We went for breakie with a very noisy toddler and were still made to feel very welcome in spite of the tantrums. Lovely set-up with lots of space and natural light, will definitely be back again.
