While technical issues and machinery failures are unpredictable, I really believe that any delays caused by them should be properly relayed to the customers and patients. Today I had to wait about 40 minutes after my appointed time due to technical issues that began since noon and persisted late afternoon. If the issue lasted so long, the receptionist should have informed patients via text or email so they don’t need to wait for so long and come on time when they aren’t even going to be treated promptly. I did not want to sound rude by asking the receptionists about how long I should wait until I can see the dentist, but I shouldn’t even be asking in the first place since this is the clinic’s responsibility to notify patients of any issues. It also didn’t help that the none of the receptionists even bat on eye to me when I walk in the clinic; had to interrupt the Chinese receptionist to tell her about my appointment. I felt bad about interrupting her but she should at least offer an acknowledgement of my presence, or even a ‘I’ll get to you in a moment’ would have sufficed. Then when I wanted to pay for the dental procedures, I went to the Indian receptionist to ask for my bill, because I understand that I have to pay out of pocket since my BUPA membership did not cover dental fees. She was so adamant about scanning my membership card (which took even more waiting time...) and was surprised when I wasn’t covered??? Like duh, that’s why I asked for the bill!! Of course there’s also delays in adjusting the fee for student discount because the dentist was busy with the next patient already so I had to wait even more when I had already waited a very long time for my appointment and I was already in a very bad mood. Please improve communication between dentist and receptionist and patients so that patients can be notified if there’s an expected delay. Very disappointed with the customer service of the receptionists too, incredibly unprofessional. Probably won’t come here again in a very long while at least.

I have visited a couple of times, dentists are very friendly and professional enough. Assistant can be trained a bit better… they stood there didn’t help me at all. I had a filling that can be a bit better too I still have rough surfaces and sharp edge and feel more sensitive since I have filling. Biggest issues are receptionists. They are chatting and sipping bubble tea all the time they never pay attention to clients at the desk. Awful I literally stood there for almost 5mins no one said anything. And they told me they won’t charge me for re-shaping my filling over the phone but when they actually found I have a private insurance, they charged me $45. I was just there for 10 mins. Location is amazing they get many clients anyway but I can’t go back there anymore. Overpriced and very dishonest.

This place is a complete rip off. I went in for a simple clean and I admit, I would have needed a couple of sessions. However, they created an unnecessary dental plan with elaborate procedures and exorbitant costs. Their communication isn't great and they don't give you your options either. They quoted me $1400 for the clean. I got it done in a neighbourhood clinic for $340 and my teeth look great now.

Utterly disappointed by the practice manager's Customer service and the way she spoke. I went to MC dental for a tooth extraction. I was in severe pain and booked the earliest appointment on that day. I was treated by Dr Yi Pei Teh along with her assistant.She was amazing. She was gentle and explained everything thoroughly before the procedure. I had never done a tooth extraction in my life, so I was a bit nervous. She made sure I was comfortable and did the procedure so well. She also provided after care instructions well. She also asked if I need a medical certificate and if so she will email it to me otherwise remind the reception about it.However the cst was around $400 which I was fine with and half was covered by my insurance and I explained to the Indian lady at the reception I will pay the out of pocket amount the following day when my pay comes through, the manager was very rude and yelled in front of other patients, "YOU HAVE TO PAY NOW!!!! WHY CANT YOU PAY?!! Anyway, I did not want to make a huge scene so I politely explained and moved on.However I couldn't pay that as I'm a casual worker and my pay was added to the next week until i provide my workplace with a medical. So I gave them a call and apologised for the delay and asked if its okay to pay the next Wednesday and asked for the medical. the asian lady answered and advised that they wont provide the medical until I pay. I get it from the business perspective that this is not charity. But the way they spoke was utterly rude. call was escalated through to the practice manager and all she did was yelling. She repetitively kept saying you need to pay you need today without listening to my side of the story. She acted as if I'm the receptionist and she is the customer. I had to wait until she finished yelling to start speaking. She is completely mannerless and very discriminative. She also said you should not have booked the appointment if you know you cant pay that on that day. I explained to her it was an emergency and how bad my pain was and my health was important than money.I had to repeat my self more than 10 times to make sure she understands. All I asked was for the medical and time to pay until next Wednesday until she kept dragging on and she ended the call saying I need to go and will send the medical if you pay on Wednesday! The dentists are amazing but the reception staff make it a lot worse.

I am truly disappointed with the service provided. I had an appointment with Dr. Denise Chang almost a month ago, and I told the doctor that I had cavities. When I came into the room, she briefly take a look at my teeth and said that there’s nothing wrong with it and everything is normal. At that time I was so confused cause I’m pretty sure I felt something is not right with my tooth. But I didn’t want to offend the doctor and just trust her as a doctor. And I have to pay $90 for those 5-10 minutes consultation for just having the doctor to take a look at my teeth and say everything is okay. What really upset me is that recently I went to another dentist to check on my teeth again and they found the problem and turns out I have three cavities. So, I wasted my money for nothing at MC Dental (melbourne central) for what?? Its really upsetting.

As an international student, without any dental insurance. I experienced throbbing pain on my bottom left jaw from a wisdom tooth and needed to get it out. I researched and called several dental clinics and was given exorbitant and shocking quotes. However, I found MC Dental (Melbourne Central), called in and was pleasantly surprised that it was relatively affordable. I immediately booked a session in and was able to get a booking immediately on the day itself. That being said, I had personal commitments and rescheduled it to the day after. Fast forward to the day of the appointment, I was greeted by the receptionist who broke down my pricing and procedures required but was still subjected to the professional examination by the dentist herself. I was assigned to Doctor Rachel Choi who was very welcoming. I expressed all my concerns and she took her time to explain every single step and what she would be doing. The dental assistant also deserved a shout out as she seemingly know every single step and was able to assist Rachel without any communication. Just a few head nods, here and there as if there were some sort of telepathy. During the procedure, I was treated with numbing cream and injections (Which did not hurt at all, which can be attributed to her skills as I have heard horrendous things online). From there, she did what she did best and I felt nothing, no pain at all. It only took a couple of minutes and everything was done. From this personal experience, I hope this review is able to help future clients who are facing dental issues when researching for a clinic. This will be my go-to and Rachel will be the one I will be looking for at any time when I require dental work done. A great thank you and all the best to MC Dental (Melbourne Central).

Wonderful experience at MC Dental. My dentist is Cathy Zeng, very kind, gentle, professional lady. Almost fell asleep when she was filling my two chipped teeth. Great work! Shoutout to the assistant too. Wife is about to have a wisdom tooth removal next week. Totally believe she will be in good hands. Recommended this place to a friend too. Went to MC Dental for the first time and had the pleasure of getting my teeth cleaned by Dr. Andrew Chow. They were great, taking me through the process and ensuring that I wasn’t in any pain throughout the cleaning. Andrew also provided me with tips on better dental health, couldn’t ask for a better dentist. The receptionist was also lovely and was happy to answer any questions, Will definitely be back!

Decided to write a review because I'm flabbergasted at the response I received earlier today. So I called this evening to enquire about dental scaling. The lady that picked up my call struggled to understand what I meant by dental scaling. After a few attempts (I even spelled out the word SCALING) I checked if I actually called the right place because why doesn't she understand what dental scaling is? She confirmed with me that yes, it is MC Dental, then confidently corrected me by saying 'we don't say it as dental scaling. We describe it as cleaning or washing teeth. Dental scaling means you're a student who wants to learn.' I was like, 'are you serious?' then she was like, 'yes. but anyway *then changes topic* W.O.W. I wanted to book in initially but after this I was utterly dumbfounded.

I recently had a dental appointment with Dr. Thomas Qin, and I can't speak highly enough of the experience. Dr. Qin was not only exceptionally skilled in his work but also incredibly considerate and patient throughout the entire visit. He took the time to explain the procedures and answer all my questions, which made me feel at ease. He was easy-going and friendly, which made me feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the whole appointment. I truly appreciate the level of care and professionalism Dr. Qin displayed. Unprofessional and completely wasted our time. Had a consultation several months ago to start my daughter on an orthodontist plan for braces. Waited months for todays appointment to finally get her braces. Went in today and to be only told that the dentist no longer works weekend and hence can no longer proceed with the braces and there were no other dentists available in future. So then why go through with our consultation quote and provide us with a payment plan to proceed??? No prior communication was given and no empathy given to a child who had built up the courage to finally get her braces. The staff were all super clueless and obviously didn't care or communicate with each other. You dont need our business we also dont need a team of irresponsible dentists.

Saw Dr Rachel Choi for a tiny on and off gum discomfort between 2 teeth and she advised a deep clean will do as she saw tartar around the area and so I allowed her to do a deep clean around the area and turned out she cleaned a few more teeth without asking me including my wisdom teeth. I had a number of woulds afterwards and she advised it will take few days to clear and will heal itself without doing anything differently and no antibiotics is needed, i don't think the wounds were sanitised afterwards and I was only asked to use my normal mouth wash to flush out the blood. It's been almost a week and my gum got worse and swollen and the pain / discomfort got worse (I didn't even use that side of teeth much to eat). I did not expect to have such an outcome at MC Dental. Completely disappointed. Today I saw another dentist at MC Dental for an urgent appointment hoping to fix this for me and costs me another fortune to clean the worst area again and needed to start flushing the area with special antibacterial solution. Tiny issue becomes a big issue now.

Very impressed with this dentist, they were very prompt with their service and despite not having a lot of staff on the day, they did their best to make the experience as smooth as possible. It's simple to book online and if it's your first visit here they give you a goodie bag as well.

I have been coming to MC Dental for over 15 years and it has become increasingly difficult to get an appointment. My most recent experience with Invisalign has been so poor and drawn out. It was supposed to take 6-9 months but took 18 months because I couldnt get an appointment. Most recently, I have been trying to get replacement retainers. MC Dental doesn't keep this record on file, even though it is quite a premium service, so you have to come in again and redo moulds already done and paid for, wasting time and money. When you ask why they dont keep records, they have no response. The receptionist gets mad at you for asking. When you ask to talk to a dentist or the clinic manager, both are unavailable. Nearly 10k worth of work done now at risk bc it is too difficult to organise replacement retainers. I've called twice on a week day and no one is available or willing to resolve the issue. From 10am - 2pm no one is available on a weekday. Frustrated is an understatement.

Massive thanks to Dr Rachel Choi and the assistant!!! Saw her twice and super impressed with her. She was so patient with me at my initial appointment. I had to take out so many piercings for X ray and was worried wasting her time but she was really nice about it. I knew I went to the right person straight away. This time I have my wisdom teeth removed. It literally feels like nothing!!! Her smile always calms me down. She is so professional, gentle and kind, let me bother her with so many questions ❤️ Always happy to see her. Can’t compliment her enough!!! Wouldn’t trust anyone else but her.

Had an appointment with Dr.Gee Sharma. This is the first time I am doing my dental check at MC dental. I can't explain in words how good she is. I went for a check up and clean up as my left gum was bugging me last few days. I had a wisdom tooth( right side ) extraction a year ago in another dental care with another dentist and was also asked to do on left side, which is still yet to do. So I thought it's time for another extraction. Dr.Gee Sharma started to do the cleanup. I just realized she's doing a clean up when it was half done. It was that smooth and simple. Last time, I remember the pain I had while doing the clean up with another dentist.There was bleeding on my gums so I had to spit frequently. So I could compare the huge difference I experienced. Also, in the end Dr.Gee Sharma explained my teeth condition and the necessity of extraction. I remember last time my dentist was insisting me to do the filling stating my tooth is decay. While today, Dr.Gee Sharma showed me a clear image of scanned teeth and mentioned filling is not required at all and it's just a stain. I would recommend Dr.Gee without even a second thought. She is really amazing. Only suggestion I would like to add is to accept after pay payment as well. Though they have zippay options I believe some good amount of people use after pay.

Very good experience. Dr. Andrew Tong can speak both Mandarin and English, which is very important for me as an international student. He examined my teeth very carefully and was very gentle and patient during the whole process. I highly recommend him. The receptionist lady was very gentle and lovely and patiently answered many of my questions. It was a very pleasant experience to do a teeth check-ups and clean here.

Mr Pou Shoung Ma was really friendly and assuring for my first wisdom tooth extraction. Took only 10 minutes and no pain at all! (except for when injecting the local anaesthesia which stung a bit). Really affordable too (with insurance). Highly recommend!

I’ve visited here several times, past few times were lovely, everyone was nice and gentle. BUT, today is a 1/10. I went here for my swollen gum and assigned to the next available dentist, and he suggested a tooth wash. The whole process is rushed and almost painful. Now my gum is STILL BLEEDING AFTER 9 HOURS!!and it’s not stopping!! Lmfao I came here with swollen gum and leave here with BLEEDING one. Btw the new reception was like, no smile no greeting no goodbye. Idk what’s going on with this place 🤦🏽‍♀️

Had some dental emergency giving sleepless nights. Booked an appointment in the morning and was able to see Dr Sharma same evening after work. 30 minutes later and after Dr Sharma magic, problem resolved completely and left the clinic a very happy patient. I was very happy with Dr Cathy Zeng. I only had a check up and clean. She was very gentle, explained each step, explained issues she identified and my options. Also very easy to get an appointment, no need to wait for weeks, and very convenient location.

Brilliant service. Got an urgent appointment for a broken temporary crown, only 75 mins after my call. Fantastic dentist Rachel Choi with a very gentle touch. My problem was resolved within 150 minutes of it arising, as well as a small gap payment above my Medibank benefit. Could not possibly have had a better resolution. 6 stars!!!

Having had an excellent dentist for years, my experience at MC Dental felt like going to a drive-through car wash. It took me longer to fill out the registration form than the actual consult and cleaning. Tried it because it’s one of BUPA providers, might have more luck with others, but am not going back to this place again for sure.

After the COVID lockdown returning to the clinic which I have been for many years. Unfortunately this time is really disappointing. My protective eye wear was not cleaned to begin with and it has previous clients facial oil left on it and surely it’s time to get a fresh pair, the eye wear certainly been used for a few years. Besides the point, with the COVID scares nowadays, the hygiene practices should have been better and strictly standardised. Upon check out, at the reception the pens has been used by everyone without cleaning! Probably profit is the clinic’s new philosophy!

I cannot recommend MC Dental more highly. I am terrified of dentists after a bad experience as a child. They saw me on a public holiday after a filling had fallen out. OH MY GOD is dental expensive in Australia, but Dr. Pou Shoung Ma has given me the most comfortable experiences I’ve ever had. He gave me examinations which no other dentist’s I’ve met has ever given me in a sense that, out of all the dentists I have been to, he knew exactly what was wrong with my teeth. All the dentists I have been to has never told me what was wrong with me, dentally, which has deteriorated my oral health deeply. He patiently and very informatively explained everything to me and knowing I was on a budget, he did not force me to do any additional procedures. Given me alternatives and was very friendly, often cracking jokes to make sure I was comfortable. However, I would have given a 5 stars rating if it wasn’t for the two receptionist who (I personally was not involved in) were making faces & bad mouthing patients after they ended their phone call with them or after they left. I understand hospitality is a difficult job but bad mouthing patients where others can see or hear is not very professional, especially when it makes you think about what they could saying about you next when you leave because if it can happen to other patients, what makes you think it won’t happen to you kind of situation. I have just read about the other reviews and most of them were about the receptionists and how the person replying to the feedback is just apologizing and telling the reviewer that they will talk to management about it when we all know that nothing has been done. I can predict a copy and paste reply for this so I don’t really appreciate it. Just make some action about it. I’m not expecting anyone to be removed but if you want to bad mouth patients, do it over drinks after work or when there are no patients. There’s absolutely no meaning for the doctors to be nice and friendly in a appealing office when the receptionists are being unprofessional. This was at Mc Dental CBD on 14/9/2022. Overall, thank you doctor and the assistants for giving me a pleasant experience.

Had an infected tooth which needed to come out and my periodontist wasn't around. This clinic had lots of open slots to see me and I booked in with Dr Zoe Chow. She was a good communicator and was careful to ensure I was well numbed-up. 45 mins later the tooth and infection were gone.

I would like to thank DR.Zoe and her assistant (didn't get her name, sorry) for their amazing operation and check ups. It was my first time visiting MC dental, she made me felt both comfortable and engaged with the dental procedure, she would explain things in great detail and simplify difficult dental terms. I did a check up and cleaning the first time coming here, and the following week, I did a teeth filling replacement for one of my old tooth. The whole operation went smoothly and I didn't feel uncomfortable even after the numbing has went away. Now my teeth looks great! Overall, I highly recommend Dr.Zoe and is looking forward to my future appointments here. :)

It was a great experience at MC Dental. Found them through google and it did not disappoint. Reception team were well-mannered and polite. The dentist and his assistant were also really friendly. Plus, great work on cleaning my teeth. Didn't get their names but props to them! (Also, I got a free dental hygiene pack with toothbrush/toothpaste - thought it was really cute)

Great, efficient service. I had an issue with a broken permanent retainer, the dentist gave me all of the options available and answered all of my questions. I was able to pick up my new plastic retainer on the same afternoon! Extremely happy with the service I received, would certainly recommend them.

You see, I have an enormous fear of coming to the Dentist and most Dentists tend to brush my fears to one side, but Zoe actually takes the time to Genuinely Listen to me and take extra time to be as gentle and caring in all she has to do, even if it means it’s more difficult for her. I'm a new patient and so far really happy with my experience at MC Dental. I was able to set an appointment for consultation the same day I called. The website is also really great for booking appointments. Dr Oscar and the front desk staff have been amazing. Glad my friend referred me to this clinic.

I got an appointment with the dentist by contacting the clinic by phone as soon as possible. The dentist made a filling. I think that the new filling needs to be polished better, so I plan to go to this clinic again. I also plan to put an implant in this clinic, if the price suits me. The staff was polite and friendly, the atmosphere was wonderful. The receptionist has a magnificent aquarium and the fish fascinated me.

Wonderful, spacious centre in a superb location with easy public transport access. This was my first experience with the clinic and my dentist was amazing. She listened carefully and worked with me to address my concerns and go through my options. She was very thorough and clear when providing me with information. The cost was lower than I expected after my insurance had been applied. Overall, a very positive experience and my job of finding a dentist in Melbourne is over. (If I wasn't convinced already, the little goodie bag they give all new customers is a great bonus!)

After visiting Dr. Lisa, I realized how unpleasant my previous experience with Dr. Thomas Qin was. He was significantly late and rushed through the appointment, treating my oral and dental issues in a very rough manner, causing me a lot of discomfort. I won't be seeing Dr. Thomas Qin again. On the other hand, Dr. Lisa provided a much better experience. She is incredibly patient and friendly, taking the time to explain everything thoroughly. I felt at ease and well taken care of throughout my appointment. Highly recommend Dr. Lisa for her exceptional care and professionalism. I've rated this experience 3 stars primarily because of Dr. Thomas, which was extremely unpleasant. I would give him 0/10. If it weren't for my visit with Dr. Lisa, my rating would have been only 1 star due to that previous negative experience. Dr. Lisa, with her exceptional patience and friendly demeanor, provided a stark contrast to my prior visit, ultimately improving my overall perception. I would give Dr. Lisa 10/10. I hope the constructive feedback will contribute to better service and experiences in the future.

Worst experience ever with the dentist. Didn’t solve the problem but added to the pain and got a fever the same night. Very inexperienced and luckily didn’t go for the more drastic option offered because can’t imagine the outcome. Going back to my dentist in my home country for further treatment. In our country, these dentists cannot practice in private sector as they are like new graduates resident doctors and so can only practice in public hospitals for many years before allowed to do private practice. Spend 3 nights in agonizing pains after her “treatment “. OMG!!!!!

Not only are the staff at MC dental professional but they are also extremely caring. I’ve always feared dentists but ever since discovering MC dental in Melbourne central, my life has changed! I have the worst gag reflex & the team are always catering around my needs and making sure I feel safe and secure during all the procedures I’ve had with them & I’ve had many!! Special shout out to Andrew Cho & the lovely staff at reception 😊

I started going to MC Dental around 3 years ago and just by chance went with Andrew Cho. Andrew is without a doubt the nicest dentist I have ever met. He's great to ensure that he's not causing any pain during a checkup but really thorough all the same. I wasn't taking care of my teeth well enough originally and I ended up putting so much time into getting them in better shape. Andrew is so nice I actually felt like I was letting him down by not taking better care of my teeth. It may sound stupid but him being so nice actually motivated me to do better. Couldn't recommend a dentist more so than I would Andrew
