Mapo was a pleasant dining experience for us. The waiters were all very friendly, and it was easy to find a table without a reservation. The food was delicious. A better ventilation system would have prevented smoke from spreading throughout the restaurant.

Well price good taste. Book in advance to get the best table.

Amazing food, staff and dining experience. Highly recommend for this spot for a start to a big night for a couple (dates included) or a big group of friends or family.

Experience was okay. Ordered the calamari balls and the plate definitely had more sauce then calamari. Think I would have had a better experience if I visited for the BBQ. It was a bit difficult to get the waiter's attention during the experience as well so ended up going up and to get our own utensils

Taste is fine, however it might be the only Korean BBQ I've ever been to without smoke extractors. This is major failure as the room will be full of smoke pretty quickly. I give this one a 3 stars. 1 is basic, 1 for the food (taste all right), the other star for their beautiful waitresses...

Our combined friend group from all over Melbourne rarely gets together, but when we do we usually start the night at Mapo. Which once had amazing food, great service and atmosphere you won't want to leave. Now the food is terrible, lacks flavour and our usual luxury set feels as if it's gotten smaller, the meat wasn't fresh the coal wasn't lit properly and getting the attention of wait staff was near impossible considering the restaurant was basically empty. Now the bill was $665 including a 15% surplus for being good Friday, which is understandable but the food and service was definitely not worth it. Will be looking for a new Korean BBQ location.

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. Full stop. Giant jugs of Korean beer, exquisitely-marinated meat (I cannot recommend the Spicy Pork Belly enough), great kimchi pancake, and spectacular customer service. If I lived in Melbourne, it'd be hard not to want to come to Mapo at least once a week.

Very very terrible service and hygiene in this place. The tong and scissors are so dirty and oily. They didn’t clean it well. They tong still sticked with a some burn meat and something dirty things. The table when i touch it really really oily. Looks like no one sanitize and clean it well. The charcoal when they bring it on table full of dust and the dust fly into my plate and food. The staff looks like not enough training. Shaking when bring the charcoal on the table. The last things is the toilet. So so so so so smelly and yucky. Oh my god i really cannot brain how this owner manage this restaurant. The mens toilet smell very very bad. Smell like someone pee everywhere. This place was very nice and good to enjoy the drinks on weekend when the previous manager still there. If am not wrong the manager name is ‘IZU’. He really professional in customer service and hospitality. He know what customers needed. And he also know how to entertain customers. I been there on my birthday and book for 30 people. He bought a cake for my birthday and surprised me. Really miss him and the moments so much. When the last time i been there google reviews still around 4.3 Star. But now 3.6 Star at google reviews. If me looking for any restaurant at least the google reviews must be not below 4 star. If below 4 star i will just skip and find another place. For me Bornga Korean BBQ is really quiet nice. I this last night was my last night in mapo.

The food was really good , they source the beef and chicken from halal certified meat stores. Also the staff was friendly. Overall we had a great experience.

I recently had a great Korean bbq experience at Mapo Grill. Visiting for dinner we decided to order items individually rather than one of the set combinations. We got the beef bulgogi, pork belly, spicy chicken thigh fillet, vegetable combination and seasonal mushrooms. We accompanied this with steamed rice and a vegetable pancake along with rice punch, grape juice and lychee soju to drink. The great thing about KBBQ at Mapo is that the staff do all the cooking at the table for you. This is particularly handy if you’re not much of a cook or if you’re relatively new to Korean bbq. Everything we ordered was delicious and was very filling. The highlights for me were the beef bulgogi, chicken, mushrooms and the vegetable pancake. The beef was juicy and tender and the bulgogi marinade was lovely whilst the spicy chicken thigh was full of flavour. The mushrooms worked beautifully on the bbq and the vegetable pancake was nice and crispy. I rate Mapo Grill ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5. The food was delicious and I loved that the team assist with all the cooking. Thanks very much for having me.

Nice cosy restaurant for Korean bbq .. Had the set and had a varieties of beef plus soup and side dishes

Love the pork belly set. The pork belly original is so good. No bad smell Form Pork at all. The soy sauce marinated one is also delicious. Love the sweetness form the pork and the spicy marinated is so tasty. It’s so full at the end. The soup was great and corn cheese make the bbq taste even better.

Great for a late night dinner. Open until 1am, 3am on the weekend, closed Tuesday.

Really slow wait food for a long time

The customer service was so poor, the person ignored us when we tried to order. When she put down side dishes she threw it on the table, plus the grill wasn’t hot enough and meat took ages to cook. All of the staffs was on their phone when we looked over to the counter. When my friend forgot her card the staff responded rudely. Would not recommend, please check in with your staffs.

Worst korean bbq I’ve been to. The grill wasn’t hot enough. The rice tasted terrible like some cheap rice. The pancake wasn’t cooked properly, the dough was still wet. Only one staff serving all the tables and the service was very slow. There are many other better restaurants than this one.

Came here with a friend, it was a last minute decision to come. The food was so good! Especially loved the kimchi and the soybean paste stew! The service was amazing and the servers was incredibly friendly and accommodating! Will definitely come again! 😍😍

Food was amazing along with the staff, we came in at 1:45am and they served us as if they had just opened. Cheap prices for 5 people eating as well as drinks!

Ordered beef double set, just 3 portion of meat and 2 rice, the meat was directly out of fridge cold as stone. Waiter was silent and serious. Pretty overpriced and not recommended.

Had dinner here Friday night. Food was delicious and the staff were fantastic!

The service attitude here is very poor, which has directly ruined my good mood. When I walked in, I just sat in my seat, and no one provided any service for me until I went to the front desk to inquire. They were very rude and told me to continue waiting. In short, this is the worst service attitude I have ever experienced. Add comment: Thank you for your response. I came here at around 11:35 pm last night, but I didn't end up ordering anything and left because of the attitude of the waiter makes me feel uncomfortable.
