If you want to have really good Italian food from people that really care about what they’re doing then don’t go anywhere else. Right next to the North Melbourne train station, stop by for delicious pizza with home-made salami, lasagna made with the owner’s grandfather’s recipe, in a very welcoming environment. This is definitely our new local for delicious comfort food.

Incredible performance by the staff, Kobe dropping 81 on the raptors type of performance. Super friendly and super helpful. The food was nothing short of high quality and class. The highlight of the day was the warm Chocolate Pudding, delicious!

Had a little date night with my partner and we didn't know where to go so we decided to try this place that's close to us. At first we were a little worried that we needed to book/reserve but the host welcomed us like how a true Italian would! Needless to say the food was good and the service is even better. The pasta was delicious and yes it's handmade, the chicken was moist and perfectly seasoned, the beetroot which was a vegetable that is synonymous with earth which shouldn't taste this good but it did. Now we are just ending our night with their tiramisu. Addictive. It's a great way to end our Saturday night ♡ The picture could be better though!

If you’re in Melbourne, you need to check this restaurant out! My partner and I found this absolute gem while exploring the Docklands and they kindly served us the lunch menu although it was only 10am ☺️ The croquettes, homemade carbonara and Ele’s grandfather’s lasagne was phenomenal and to top it off, they generously provided us with bread on the house 🥰. Definitely a must visit. 10/10 food, 10/10 service, 10/10 ambience.

We went here for our relative’s birthday. Good space and ambience, lovely soft music without being loud. Food was really tasty (we had the spaghetti marinara and squid ink tagliatelle that was on special. And the housemade black forest.. *chefs kiss*). The staff were extremely friendly which made our experience even more amazing! Thank you for a lovely experience!

Ordered from UberEats (Sassy.x Restaurant) and it was such a bargain! They do specials sometimes, each pizza was less than $10 and so was the chicken + chips. Delicious and cheap!

I had the duck spring rolls and they were very good. My husband had the Lasagne and said it was the best he has tasted. But the stand-out was the mushroom bruschetta. It was amazing. A must try. Staff are friendly and very attentive. Even attempted to make us a cocktail that was not on the menu. We appreciated the effort. Highly recommend.

Situated right next to North Melbourne station underneath an apartment, this restaurant is a breath of fresh air for the neighborhood. The lasagna was hearty and comes with peas that you don't normally see but still great nonetheless. The Salumi Board showcased a great selection of cured meats. The pizza was decent although we found it to be a little too oily which might be due to them using Carolina reaper oil. Food - 8 Service - 9 Vibe - 9 Price - $$$

BEST ITALIAN FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD! I am so glad we found this little business, as the owner and staff were so welcoming! We were checked on constantly, and met with personality and care! The chef is amazing and the food was to die for! Amazing drinks and the desserts were next level. I am so proud to support small businesses like this and couldn’t recommend them more!

Had the best night! The quality of the food was next level. The owner and staff made us feel at home the minute we walked in the door. Starters croquettes, arancini balls and cheese platter.. perfect starters with a good wine! We then shared two pizza between 4 and I have to say the lightest dough with the freshest ingredients . Yum was the word on the table. Mains, Lasagne, Marinara, risotto and Carbarnara.... boom 💥 All meals made with love. Thankyou again for making us all feel at home! The service provided was outstanding 👏 👌 🙌 👍

Dinner 22/08/21 Truffle Mushroom Risotto The risotto was really rich with balanced flavors, the serving size for the single dish was gigantic, would probably serve 2 to 3 meals, the bowl in my photo only had a third of the serve in it and reheated quite well. In other reviews I have mentioned how annoying food prep staff with masks half on/off where they are constantly touching them and how I thought it would be better to just not wear them and post a notice as to why, it’s just not hygienic to be touching masks! Well Sassy did just that which I was happy to see stating their kitchen staff are exempt from wearing masks which I think is great (if they aren’t breaking any health advice) So you might be wondering why I dropped a star? Well, I have been searching for good pasta in walking distance and every where has been closed (just had hip surgery so can’t walk more than a km) I called Sassy during the day to make sure they would be open for dinner and specifically asked about the pasta and if their menu was online! Turn out they had recently changed menus so I couldn’t get the pasta I wanted and went with a risotto instead, I don’t really care for tomato based pasta sauces. Also this menu change is why I couldn’t get photos for my review of their menus! Maybe next time but Sassy if you read this please update your online menu ASAP!

Best Italian food we've had since 2015! Fantastic food and friendly service. The helpful staff created a warm and inviting atmosphere. Music is not too loud to interfere with talking. We met the owner, when he came to check all was ok with the food and drinks and offered suggestions for places to visit during our stay in Melbourne. We had the lasagne and gnocchi bolognase which are their familys recipe and taste fantastic. The pretty sassy cocktail is very sweet and sticky. Takeaway pizzas are available. Disabled friendly unisex toilets. Child highchairs are available. Cash, Credit and debit cards accepted. Credit card surcharge applies. Contactless available. Tables can be booked online or by calling.

Entertained our son, his aunt and friends to his graduation / convocation dinner on 13th December 23. Service and quality of the food ordered were simply excellent. Prices were very reasonable, portions equally generous. Ali and his staff went out of their way to ensure my son had a great time despite the short notice. Very very highly recommended and will definitely make it a point to come again on our next visit to Melbourne. Grazie mille per aver reso questa serata fantastica.

We had an awesome night! All staff that interacted with us were absolutely fantastic. Ele was exceptional in checking in on us from time to time to ensure we were OK. He also went the extra mile by adding a birthday candle to a dessert which was so thoughtful of him. We had a beautiful view of the Ferris wheel in the city. Looking forward to visiting again.

I was try to l have a lunch with my partner and I randomly pick this place out from nowhere on google map and it's landed here. At first I didn't expect much but it's turned out fabulous. I had Calamari as my entree, It's a good finger food to start. Then we had Gnocchi with Bolognese and Crispy Focaccia. Fantastic. Service is very nice but I need to give it a try in busy day also. Ele's Grand Father Lasagna is a must try he said by himself but we were full already and ordered tiramisu to finish it. For whom love to try Italian food around North Melbourne. Give it a try and you won't regret.

Wow 😮 This is our favourite Italian restaurant. The food and service is excellent . The extra duty of care taken by Ele is above and beyond I have ever seen in a restaurant. We celebrated my daughter’s 21st with a family dinner at short notice. But he was very attentive and we couldn’t fault any of the food and service we received. We highly recommend the meatballs, pasta, fish, meat ,pizza etc. Everything we ate was amazing and full of flavour. Please do yourself a favour, you need to checkout this restaurant if you’re in the area, you will not be disappointed. Thanks to the whole team for a fantastic dinner and hope to come back very soon 😊🥰

We chanced upon this place as we were driving from Brunswick and it was our best find in Melbourne ever! There’s so much to cover in this review but I’ll keep it as brief as I can. The atmosphere was wonderful. Feels so homey with the wonderful staff. We had a lovely waitress with short brown hair who was so sweet, and the chef came out a few times to check on us all the time whether we needed water and whether the food was good. The views were excellent and I’d say we got the best table 🥹 The chef (I didn’t get his name 😔) really put his feelings onto the plates and you can taste it in every dish. He is so passionate about what he does as I saw him prepping the food behind the bench. We ordered the mushroom arancini, grilled king prawns, penne arrabbiata, king prawn risotto and tiramisu. The homemade arancini wth truffle aioli was delicious and so flavourful. The grilled prawns were my favourite appetiser! The garlic herb sauce was to die for. As for the mains, the king prawn risotto was so deliciously complex in flavour. I could taste multiple layers with each bite and the consistency of the risotto was spot on. There were hints of earthy but ocean flavours in there. Absolutely superb!! And next was the chef’s very own creation: the penne arrabbiata. Once again, the best arrabbiata I’ve ever had in my life. As a person of south East Asian descent, the spice elevated the dish and complemented it excellently! I told the chef himself it was the best one I’ve ever tasted and beat the ones I had while I was in Italy. I would say the arrabbiata is a MUST try when you’re here. Lastly the tiramisu was the first of its kind I had. It had crunchy crumbed biscotti on top that added multiple layers of texture to the yummy fudge incorporated into the tiramisu. It was light but decadent at the same time. We are definitely excited to come here again! The chef made our valentine’s weekend so memorable! We love Sassy Italian 🥰

They have a few delivery divisions on UberEats called Sugo & Pasta (for pasta meals), sassy.x (for pizza meals), and sassy buns (for burger meals) and it's worth checking out as they have some pretty good deals at times. We tried their mushroom risotto, lasagne, carbonara, and various different pizzas for <$15 each. Food was good, delivered hot, and good portions.

Fabulous service and delightful food once again - Ele and the team never disappoint! We enjoyed the croquettes and some herb bread to share - super tasty and perfectly prepared. I had the gnocchi (by far the best gnocchi dish I’ve ever had - massive compliments to the chef!), partner had the porterhouse special (perfectly cooked, and very well presented dish). A coconut and vanilla pannacotta to finish - super light and refreshing - excellent finish to the night. What a night - I will be back!

Really tasty food. Table of 10 and everyone was impressed with all of their courses. We requested some share plates for entrees. The mushroom arancini, tempura broccoli I, lamb rib and calamari were all great. Friendly, attentive service - well hosted. A little quiet for a Saturday evening.

We had a great experience here a couple weeks ago. The service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and prompt. We were dining with children, and he was quick to ensure they were well taken care of, even offering a pancake dessert that wasn’t seen on the menu. The food was fantastic, and we were very happy to have chosen this restaurant for my husband’s birthday. Thank you!

My visit was at a strange time, latish in the afternoon, and between trains. I was treated with great courtesy and hospitality. A snack and an excellent coffee were provided, as well as the re-charging of my phone. I look forward to returning with my family very soon. The staff were really welcoming and accommodating, and the view is stunning. I was very impressed with the whole experience. The menu is extensive, and intriguing.

A few years ago I tagged along with a friend to the opening night of Sassy. The cocktails were great and it is a terrific space for events. I've been back quite a few times since and it is equally good for a table of two and groups. It's location next to North Melbourne train station makes it an easy 10 minutes from the city by train. The head chef is Trent Kerr who previously headed up the European/City Wine Shop for years. The Sassy website doesn't mention this which is a shame because in my opinion it is a great selling point. Needless to say the quality and taste of the food is always excellent. It is up there with some of the best casual dining modern Italian restaurants in Melbourne. This morning I was there for brunch and ordered the zucchini and mint fritters. The fritters were served with coconut tahini yoghurt, poached eggs, basil oil and dukkah. I usually keep breakfast/brunch simple couldn't resist tring the coconut tahini yoghurt. It was delicious and the flavours were well balanced. It wasn't too heavy and was a generous serve. The coffee here is consistently good. Today the tables were covered with traditional red and white chequered table cloths It reminded me of the Italian restaurants that have been on Lygon St forever and aren't consistent with the Sassy brand. It was confusing but maybe it was done for a special occasion - hopefully this is the case because for me it detracts from the beautiful fit out. I definitely recommend and look forward to my next visit to try something else on the menu (maybe the bottomless brunch!).

We weren’t going to do anything for Valentine’s day but decided to come to Sassy as we hadn’t been here for a long time, the smoked cauliflower croquettes were so good, I regretted not getting one for myself! For mains we got the crab risotto which was rich and full of flavour, the cabornara was creamy and kind of smoky, maybe from the meat, and dessert!!!! That dark chocolate mouse was so good the strawberries really broke up the richness of the dark chocolate mousse, thoroughly enjoyed the sticky date pudding! The guys there are super friendly and also do really good breakfast, we’ve had breakfast plenty of times

The food was good. I had a pizza Sorrentina and a Cos side salad. But there were some unusual spices or too much pepper on the pizza, which tasted not typical italian in my opinion. Nevertheless I especially liked the salad which contained radish, fennel, apple and raisins. When the bill came, they charged me the regular price, but not their sassy Tuesday pizza offer (pizza and drink for sassy $20). Once I spoke to the waiter, they fixed it to the promo rate.

An absolutely amazing restaurant. Felt at home. Warm and Inviting. Ele is so welcoming and he's a wonderful owner. I 100% recommend coming here. I had the spaghetti marinara, and it's the best i've ever eaten, so fresh. You're not just a customer here, you're a friend, and on top of that, you have an amazing feed. So worth it😊

Three of us had a fabulous early dinner tonight. We wanted to support our local restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. Super friendly and helpful staff. Lovely clean, atmospheric restaurant (loved the wall art). The pumpkin and corn fritter and the meat lover pizza was particularly good, the lasagna was definitely our favourite. The portions are reasonably substantial. We didn’t make it to dessert because we were so full! We will definitely be back to try the Nutella pizza.

One and half years living 1 min walking from Sassy Restaurant and it just constantly reminding me of home. I have been in many Italian restaurants and to you all please trust me when I’m saying, it is really authentic and incredibly delicious. The staff is friendly and always with a smile ready to give as a gift and the owner (which you will see doing a bit of everything), is fantastic! I will not move apartment just because of Sassy!! Thank you guys
