Absolutely awful. Wish I'd read the other reviews before planning a special lunch here. We went for an afternoon tea for 6 of us. We've had a few afternoon teas here, and all were fabulous, until now. We had decided to take both sets of parents as a treat. We were told that the menu had been "updated," when what's really happened is there has been a huge change of management style. We previously liked it so much that we bought gift cards for presents for family. There were 3 little fingers of sandwich each which looked like a 5 year old had made them. We had asked for some simple sandwiches for children, but we got ham and a hot mustard, beef on dry bread and egg and cress. The crusts were all left on the bloomer bread and they tasted cheap and dry. The scones served used to be lovely, with a vanilla whipped cream and raspberry coulis. Now, you just get whipped cream slapped into a bowl with no thought for presentation, or taste; it was sweetened previously and contained vanilla seeds too. They also used to serve warm pork pies and quiches, both of which were amazing. There were two more levels of cake; a slice of loaf cake and another muffin, plus a macaroon each. No other savoury like there used to be, just a slab of bought in cake (they sell them in tesco). How anyone could be expected to manage that quantity of cake is beyond me. Appaling. Through and through. We did pay for our raspberry lemonade which really should have been complimentary as it ruined what should have been a lovely meal out with our in-laws. It is so sad how somewhere that used to provide such lovely food can go so far downhill. Don't waste your money. Was told the owners would be in touch. Have I heard anything? Of course not!

Service not great to begin, waitress didn't return to take our order for ages, forgot a drink but improved later on when a lovely waiter was very attentive. We were delighted to see a 3 option non alcoholic mocktail menu but disappointed that 2 out of the 3 were unavailable?? Disappointment continued when the shared chocolate dessert was also unavailable when we came to order it. It was incredibly loud in the venue and we could hardly hear eachother talk which spoilt our girls meal out and defeated the object of our get together to catch up. A shame because the food was good.

Friendly attentive service and great food at a reasonable price. The menu was very varied and interesting. Our party of six made different food choices and we all enjoyed our meals. When good quality food at a sensible price is hard to find, we found the Vine Restaurant to be exceptional. We will certainly be visiting again.

Visited for a surprise birthday bottomless brunch on Saturday. Food and drink were superb as was the service. We were kept topped-up with prosecco and orange juice. We stayed for cocktails afterwards which were delicious. Back next weekend for lunch!

Exceptional service and food! We booked The Vine for a Hen Party on Saturday 29th July for 32 people .Upon prior to everyone arriving I went down to The Vine to set up the tables etc ,I was greeted by Megan who showed me to the restaurant to see if I liked the way that had set it up , it was absolutely fine I just asked for a couple of adjustments nothing major - just the tables to be a little bit more closer together, which she said was absolutely no problem. When everyone started to arrive we were greeted straight away with friendly faces who couldn’t do enough for us . The food was second to none, this came out altogether and was piping hot , it was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were really generous too. As it was for a large party we did pre- ordered our food , from a 2 course set menu the restaurant had designed for us , which had plenty of choice for Starters , Mains and Deserts , that suited both meat and plant based options (This is what we asked for) A couple of people in the party are really fussy eaters but they didn’t complain about it and accommodated us accordingly. All in all the service, food and the decor was just amazing , and a credit to Davood and his team for making the Bride to Be’s day amazing .The cocktails were also amazing We will definitely return , maybe not such as a large group next time.

Me and my sister went to the vine on the 16th of June for dinner. The food and cocktails were amazing and the service was the best. Chris, our server, was so helpful and was a lot of fun with us. Would definetly recommend it for a fun evening out with delicious food and drinks. 10/10

I had the slow cooked beef served with a good selection of vegetables, everything was hot and beautifully cooked, the beef just melted in your mouth. My husband had the rump steak cooked to his specification served with chunky chips vine tomatoes, mushrooms and onion rings. The service was exceptional, very attentive. I would recommend this restaurant and If in the area again would revisit.
