Visited first time for a dinner with my family last week. Unfortunately disappointed. First, main dish delivered with starters... Ordered hamburger, fish and chips and chicken with sauce. Hamburger was nice but the rest not good. Chips not done as it should be, cooked to short :/ Fish was horrible, plenty of water in. Chicken in sauce... the sauce was poor, it taste like tomato sauce... Spent £65 and excepted much more food quality. Definitely not coming back again

My family visited here 08/04/23. A regular of Stonegate pubs up and down the UK. Interior and setting of the pub is lovely. Service slightly slow and okay at best... Good selection of drinks on offer. Food however was poor hence low score. I had nachos, there was no guacamole and no jalapenos, I could tell the nachos had been under the hot pass whilst the other food was cooking as the cheese had turned rock hard. Asked for this and was advised both were out so had Frank's hot sauce. Sister-in-law had BBQ chicken and chicken and bacon was hard. Onion rings tasted on oil, oil needs changing in kitchen. Asked for new onion rings. Husband had a burger that should have been on a glazed bun, it wasn't. Brother in law's gammon was incredibly pale. Lots of glasses and plates left on tables whilst staff all gathered at one end of the bar chatting. Pub wasn't that busy so no need for it to look this way. Room for improvement., Could be a fantastic establishment with TLC.

A great large town pub with friendly staff and a great range of beers. We never ate, we just enjoyed a couple of great ales here on our little pub crawl in this lovely little town which is definitely worth a visit! 😊 Nigel & Claire

Lovely old worldy pub shame about the food!! We all had Sunday dinner.. All with different meats.. Every one of them was cold on arrival mash potatoes were dry as was the roast potatoes.. When I go out for a meal I expect it to be better than what I can do myself.. Unfortunately this wasn't up to scratch.. Disappointing and won't be eating there again.

Proper nice old pub serving a selection of good ales along with lagers/ciders. Dog friendly, kid friendly, nice food reasonably priced & Sky Sports. Well worth the visit.

The food is great, and tasty which is quite impressive. I had the classic all day breakfast here and I loved it so much. The only downside to my visit is that I had to pay to get an extra toast, I would normally not request for but it was good and just one toast was not enough to savour all the deliciousness. I paid £1.99 for a toast I wasn’t able to finish. So I feel like the £2 I paid for extra toast wasn’t justified . Aside that they serve great meals.

Used to eat here a lot a few years ago but stopped when we had kids. Food was nothing special, Wetherspoons type food but burgers were good. Returned recently for a meal, thought the food wasn't anywhere near as good as it used to be. Everything was overcooked and poorer quality for that type of pub. Shame.

As a group of 8 tourists visiting the area for the weekend we were recommended to call to the Bulls Head for food and refreshments. How disappointed were we with the very unwelcoming way we were treated by a very intimidating male employee certainly not suited to front of house duties. We duly left and took our business across the road to another establishment where we were treated with the utmost courtesy and were made feel most welcome. Shame on you Bulls Head.

Ordered from this place on Just Eat (they're listed there as Sin City Burgers). After an hour the food still hadn't been sent out for delivery, no way to cancel the order on Just Eat and no-one answers the phone when I try to call and cancel that way.

Nice place. However, pretty expensive. Furthermore, I was offered aperol spritz on a water glass with no straw or piece of orange and charged for £11, chips were horrible an service little poor. Possibly due to busy day. However, compromising the quality without compromising the price because of a busy day it is not an excuse. I might try again on an normal day

Ordered fish and chips and a vegetarian burger. Fish and chips look as if had been cooked for while then refried. Chips were inedible. Chips were replaced. But fish was awful Vegie burger missing most of contents as described. Restaraunt was quiet (now I understand why) so can't use busy kitchen as an excuse. Complained and were given free drinks. Trip advisor reviews are worth a look as rating varies compared to google. Not sure how any chef could send out food of the standard received today. Will not return to this pub. Would give zero stars for food if possible

Had drink and main course. Good selection ales and lagers. Menu what you would expect in pub setting. Food was fine. Dog friendly is a plus for us.

First off, let me start by saying the staff were lovely no fault with them at all. However, drinks were expensive at just over £10 for just 2 bottles of cider, which seems ridiculous when you can get a return ticket to Leicester for almost half of that. Also, toilets, where do I start? The cubicles are small, like really small. I'm not particularly big, but I couldn't get in the cubicle properly, I had to walk backwards until I was over the toilet before I could shut the door! There's just no room for manoeuvre. My husband visited the men's and he reported it was most unpleasant. The only cubicle was in a disgusting state, and being in a desperate situation, my poor husband had to clean the toilet before he could even use it! Also, the seat wasn't connected properly. He shouldn't have had to do that in the first place. So our first and most probably last visit was not a happy one.

It was our first visit to the Bulls Head but we will certainly visit here again. We visited at lunchtime. It was very busy, but we didn't have to wait long for our meals. The food and drink were very good and there was a good choice available. The staff are friendly and efficient and service was good. The pub serves food up to 9pm and from looking at the menu serves a good choice, including breakfasts up to 12 noon. If you like olde world pubs, this is one to visit as part of the pub dates back to the 1300s and there was a wide collection of pictures and photos showing the pub through the years and scenes of Ashby

Entered the bar and was greeted by a hugely unpleasant odious little man who made us wait 5 minutes while walking by and going to use his phone. He then proceeded to be extremely ignorant when asking for ID which I then produced after the worker became intimidating towards me and by that point looked like he was revelling in the whole ordeal. Safe to say I would warn anyone off visiting this establishment and will never return myself.

Bulls head market street Ashby De La Zouch What a fantastic pub the staff are super friendly the ambience is a traditional English pub accompanied by a dining area dedicated to severing high quality food in a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend as a stop off for traditional ale plus an assortment of continental lagers whines and spirits plus sky sports on several screen's dog friendly a truly family oriented pub including dining or just popping in for a pint. I’ll definitely be calling in again.
