If I could, I would give this school 0 STARS. The school is a rubbish dump. Teachers will never fix any sort of bullying issue. Principal is EXTREMELY rude. Teachers are RACIST. School gets ROBBED at least once a year. Very poor security. They are broke, financially. Students are not disciplined. Some teachers will SWEAR at students. Teachers are almost NEVER organised for their classes and send STUDENTS to get their things. Overall I DO NOT recommend this school to ANYONE that wants to get a good education!

Before I start my rant, my review was publicly removed on multiple occasions without any explanation or reasoning and am, therefore, lowering my rating from 1 star to 0 stars (although it isn't quite possible on google). Now, the lakes supposedly have four major values (respect, teamwork, leadership, and learning). Whilst some students display these qualities innately, most students do not exhibit these values, in fact, practice the opposite, through many instances. As an illustration, students constantly swear at teachers and damage furniture for no reason. Additionally, the so-called principal is not only rude but also threatens students with comments such as 'I will sit on you'. This is both an unprofessional and quite shocking approach to the job. Furthermore, many teachers will go above and beyond, not to help students, but rather to scar them emotionally. Remarks such as 'you have one brain cell' can lower a child's self-esteem, resulting in poor mental health. Moreover, the state of the place makes it seem more like a prison than a school. It is a rubbish dump, to say the least. And, the funny part is, they consistently urge students to place their rubbish in the bin, however, the bins are either absent or broken, defeating the purpose of a bin. Consequently, as a former student of this supposed school, I recommend primarily to parents to avoid sending their child here. Not only will it yield a decline in academic status, but also, a decline in mental health. Avoid.

Its an average school with aged facilities and aged philosophy of teaching. Teachers aren't dedicated neither do I think they are qualified. I, quite often see them screaming at kids. There is no proper system of handling conflicts/bullying. My son went there for prep and I couldn't see him progressing at all. I am disappointed that I wasted a year of his life.

Teachers lazy, the grounds like a rubbish dump, no respect, students are badly behaved and nothing gets done about it. The worst school in Australia i reckon

I absolutely love the Lakes, we have such kind teachers that really care about our learning. I have been at this school since prep, and can’t wait to continue to year 12. At the lakes we have a wide range of activities and school programs. Coming to school isn’t a bad thing for me I look forward to attending everyday. Our principals and teachers are working super hard for us all to have a successful future, in other words I love this school and don’t want to leave :).

The moment The Lakes decided to chuck college in their name as an attempt to seem legitimate and compete with the far superior schools in the area, Was the moment everything went downhill. Very VERY limited opportunities for both VCE and VCAL students. If you're a little late on figuring out what you want to do with your life YOU BECOME A TRADIE whether you like it or not, teachers can't take the time to actually have a genuine conversation with their students, And with that lack of communication students get stuck in subjects they can't get out of (Personal Experience). And In my final year there was only one teacher who seemed to actually care about her job and her students. Zero discipline, Zero Money, Zero education for all enrolled. They are the school values people.

One best school ! Teachers are very kind and friendly. Accepts all equally irrespective of where they come from. Special appreciation to Clare (Prep Teacher) and Nicole (Grade 5) for welcoming our kids and making it comfortable for them in their new year.

0 STARS - wouldn’t recommend!! GO ELSEWHERE This school has numerous bullying issues & it takes FOREVER for any action plan to be put in place which then doesn’t even help or rectify the situation Major Bullying (intimidation, yelling, constant picking on) from a Teacher to a grade 5 student, after meetings this still occurred, yet the teacher is still allowed to keep teaching there!! As well as major bullying from a student spanning years to a certain few, and this kid is still at the school without consequence?! Things like - threatening to kill, choke holding, spitting, constant name calling, badgering. And the way to solve these are - stay away from each other. Seems they have no resources or care to actually put down punishments in place for bullying or their policy is clearly outdated! Parents have to badger the school with meetings before anything is actually done

This is a trash school teachers never teach enough and do not know anything. I had my son here for a year and doesn’t even know he’s ABCs yet do not suggest the school is falling apart!

I would rate five stars because It’s a nice school but there is one issue where the teachers don’t listen to instructions. When they say sit down they proceed to stand up and when they say be quiet they start talking! The teachers deserve to be fired . This Has been going on for years now and the school has done nothing to improve on this situation! Shame on them! Also if you want to hire a secret agent meet me and my accomplice at the trees Near the car park / water tank and we can stop this anarchy!11!! . Do the right thing . Hire us now . Also you can join our country which is at the same place you would meet us

As a student in this school, its unfortunate to admit that teachers have miserably failed to teach basic knowledge, of which they fail to show understanding in themselves; while their main focus of this school, including the teachers, is to supress our beliefs and force the support of the LQBTQ community. As part of the program and survey of asking the students their main concerns and improvements for the school, they have again miserably failed to admit and confront the underlying issues that is spread across the toxic teachers and education system. I refuse to be taught by sex offenders in school (yes, he is our teacher and everyone knows who im talking about) teaching students including me, knowing no one in class feels safe around such individual who should now be allowed around students, and was backed up and supported by their mother (ex principal). The school needs to adress this issue, if not; The Department of Education will be informed.

The lakes South Morang P-9 is a very unique school for having many learning opportunities. It’s has many amazing staff there to help and the principle is very dedicated. The teachers are very kind and know how to discipline students when they misbehave. Students at the lakes have many talents and are lucky to be having grade 10,11 and 12 implanted in the school. I am very excited to be seeing the new grade 10s by 2020!

I love The Lakes. I think the teachers are very helpful and nice and the students are fun to be around. We are smart about the level of strictness that goes on. We are not bad at all. I am proud be at such a great school.

This school is innovative and recognised by the OECD. The teachers are brilliant and build authentic relationships with students and their families to create learning opportunities relevant to every student. Everyone is respected, we are inclusive and we listen. Every day we all learn from and about each other. The school is financially secure and details are on public record. Lakes graduate are successful influential community members.

The Lakes is a fantastic school that caters for all students. They care deeply for each and every student and often go above and beyond to care for all aspects of students needs.

The school is great — it has its ups and downs but when it’s a bad day, teachers always manage to cheer you up and so do students, but there is always room for improvements.

This school is amazing! He school makes you feel as though you are at home and the whole community and opportunity’s at the school is endless. I would totally recommend this school. Their is so many student leadership roles and academy’s for every person! Such as School captain, house captain, src, performing arts captain, sports captain and now science captains. The academy’s in MAD (music and dance) FASTTRACK (sports) and SANE ( science and nothing else) if your looking for a school for your kid I would reccomend this school as number 1

I have autism and went to this school for my secondary years. I also went to the primary campus in my early years. In primary school, my psychologist at the time gave some paperwork to the school on how to support me. The school said they would use it, but never did. I also had an OT in prep, and the school made her leave because she was “distracting the other students.” When she left, she was cross because she knew I needed help. With autism comes social ostracisation and bullying. I never learned how to mask my autistic traits which made me a target. In group work if the teachers paired me with people I didn’t know who didn’t like me I would be kicked out of said group or ignored. So in year 8 I stopped grouping with people who didn’t like me no matter what the teachers said. I felt like some of the teachers blamed me for being outcasted by the students. I was kicked, yelled at, and sworn at by other pupils in the school. In year 8, nobody cared or even knew that I was bullied by one person for almost an entire year. When I was alone outside, students would shout things at me. In year 9 they started doing this while I was inside. I tried to ignore them but it achieved nothing. Also in year 9, my therapist gave the school paperwork on how to support me. They said they would use it, but they never did and I was left waiting for when this support would come. To top it all off? A bit before I left, the teachers started saying, “eVeRYoNeS a LiTtLe biT aUtIsTiC” which caused other students to start saying they were autistic, and they were completely accepted while I was ostracised and excluded. If you are a parent of an autistic child, please do not send them to this school.

This school is beyond useless. They respond poorly to bullying situations and conflicts. Their best way to discipline students is screaming, and on rare occasions, SWEARING at them. The principal is EXTREMELY rude. Also, she even reviewed her OWN SCHOOL with 5 stars. VCE opportunities are very limited, and the school is very poor, so implementing more opportunities will NEVER happen.

The worst school out there. They just sit back and don’t care about what’s going on out in the yard, for example they don’t react to bullying and other serious situations. Learning there is horrible, teachers teach the same thing to the same students all over again and don’t think to care about students well-being’s. the teachers there are so useless they do not care for students n some do bully students, picking on them, ect. I would not recommend going to this school because there’s so many students who don’t take care of their peers around them. Again I do not recommend going to this school cause it’s such a useless school.

Worst school ever. Minus one star, teachers are bias towards students, unhelpful and just not good teachers. The students are racist and homophobic. They schools population is just uneducated imbeciles. Went here for 6 years up until year 10. Wish I had moved earlier.

I go to this school right now, if you're a minority at ALL expect many of the students here to discriminate against you, on the other hand the teachers do seem to really care but don't do much when it comes to bullying
