Honestly, I didn't know what to expect coming to this café, lo and behold I now hold high expectations every time I go for a coffee and croissant. The best croissants in Prahran, without question. So airy, and they are the cheapest around at $4.50, which is nuts in comparison to the other cafes' surrounding them who charge in excess of $6. Maria makes an amazing latte and highly regard her coffee. But don't get me started on the other sweets and pastries they have available because I'll be here all day raving about them, you'll need to try them for yourselves.

Having high tea at the Reverie Cafe in Prahran was an amazing experience, the food being delicious with choices in savoury and sweet. The vibe was fantastic and cafe was clean and welcoming. Dietary requirements are taken care of very well.

Pierrick has done it again! What a beautiful, elegant and spacious brunch cafe with his incredible desserts. I’m so glad to see the lemon tarts again, the new Charlotte Tiffany tastes as good as it looks stunning. This is a place to have more than just a coffee. The Shroom is by far my favorite from his savoury menu although my friends can’t get over the eggs Benedict! Keep it up chef, can’t wait to be back!

At first we came here for their high tea and we were amazed by the quality and the taste of the food! The petit fours, chicken mini tarts and salmon sliders were absolutely amazing and delicious. I highly recommend everyone to try their high tea! 🥂 High tea : Wednesday-Sunday 10am-2pm ✨ Cost $55 with unlimited hot drinks We also takeaway some of their cakes. Seriously they make the best passionfruit brownie, lemon meringue tart and hazelnut cake I have ever tried in Melbourne, also their vegan chocolate chip cookies are so delicious! TOP QUALITY 💕

This place is an absolute treat. I have been wanting to properly sit and eat at Reverie for a while as I used to follow the chef Pierrick Boyer on instagram for a number of years. The staff are incredibly warm, friendly and hospitable and it is a joy to receive their service every time. The cakes are nothing short of delectable. A long-time favourite is the chocolate hazelnut cake with the mango puree layer - absolutely unique flavour. The lived up to the standard of cake too. We ordered french toast with a fried egg on top and finished off the meal with an almond croissant and lemon meringue tart. It was indulgence but honestly worth it. If you are looking for an exquisite french patisserie experience, look no further than Reverie

Menu seems limited at first. But quality is good. Had the sausage and beans with toast and chips. Taste on point. Plus you can get dessert from their counter for take home dessert.

Due to covid, our breakfast place in StKilda, was not open, so we travelled to Prahran, to a Cafe we had lunch at a few times (always good). It was open, suffering from covid like so many. The breakfast was delicious. The service friendly. The coffee rich of flavour. The owner a fabulous man putting his heart into his cooking. The pastries mouth watering. I give them 6 stars out of 5. Give them a try.

A very bad experience with my toddler. I ordered warm chocolate for toddler and hot mocha for myself. When the lady served the drinks she can’t even tell me which is mocha which is chocolate! But then she told mw the one with marshmallow is chocolate after a second she said the one with marshmallow should be mocha!!! At the end I was asked to taste it before giving to toddler! What a service! Besides, I hope the hygiene of the environment can be improved. The table was not cleaned at all. It was 2pm a very quiet afternoon on 24/5/2023. Thank you!

Amazing place with excellent menu! A lot of choices, V, VG, GF... good place to hangout with friends with different diets! The baked goods are fresh and well made, like I had in France. The pastries are to die for, I recommend the Brownie Passion fruit, their longtime best seller.

I’ve been visiting Chef Pierrick Boyers venues for many years and so nice to visit his new Reverie Cafe in Prahran. They now offer high tea with an assortment of savoury and sweet cakes and let’s not forget the freshly baked scones with cream and jam!! Perfect place to spend the afternoon with your girlfriends!

Mindblown! The desserts were an absolute delight! Definitely not just another dessert cafe with pretty cakes, but of great quality and taste. Their desserts have also won plenty of awards so you know it’s not just for show. Personally I love the hazelnut cake, lemon tart and Black Forest! Worth every bite!

It's on the money. Slick and white, clean lines and full flavours. Utmost respect for the cake croissant and coffee I had here. It still feels new, the staff are very attentive and presentable. The price is excellent, it's not cheap, but for the quality you are eating it's excellent value. Leaves other patisseries in its wake. You may think the area doesn't need another cafe, but this will be an outstanding beacon, not just another place to go. Highly recommended, impress your friends by going here. Top quality food and service. I will return.

tldr: Basically waited for 15-20 minutes to takeaway my barely toasted Ham and Cheese Croissant (see attached). Not only did the order came out half cold, I waited for my takeaway as if I was dining in. Icing on the cake, I am late for my appointment and was handed the croissant unapologetically. Great service girls (to the lady who apologized while you were making coffee, it wasn't your fault, your staffs around you should've checked for takeaway order + chef can't toast a croissant 😂).

One of my go to places for cakes whenever someone has a birthday in the family! Love them! Heck, it’s so good we’d randomly go past just to buy a pear tart for dessert!

Great lemon tart. A very large shopfront for a patisserie that allows you and your significant other to find a quite spot to sit and enjoy each others company while indulging on something sweet. We love lemon tarts and these guys do a good lemon tart. The coffee is ok. The staff could be friendlier. The lady that served us seemed annoyed that she had to stop doing what ever she was doing on her phone to walk over to the counter and take our order.

This cafe is on another level. The design and layout is a masterpiece. The savoury dishes are great, really thought out and amazingly executed. The pastries and desserts are spectacular - you would expect nothing less from Pierrick Boyer. My kids loved it too - and there is a park just next door.

Visited the Reverie Café today with my boyfriend and we both ordered the classic - avo on toast with the additions of hash browns + bacon as sides and I can say the portion did not disappoint. At first I was a little surprised at the size of the side of bacon for $5 but in the end it was the perfect amount of food each as we cleaned our plates. I had a coffee alongside mine which was perfection and himself had a chocolate thick shake that definitely aided to the 2 full stomachs rolling out. We went at around 10am on a Saturday and were seated straight away. The staff were lovely and attentive and the atmosphere and space is perfect for either a cosy couples brekfast or a group brunch. Will definitely be back ❤️

The pastries were simply incredible and the service was so friendly and accommodating. The croissants were made to perfection; the colour had a vibrant golden brown colour and the aroma was rich, it also had a good flaky crust. The atmosphere was bustling however it is understandable due to it being rush hour. The timing that our orders came out was at a steady pace and was completely acceptable. We will for sure come back here again!

Went there 3-4 times. No doubt their cakes are always nice there. However, this time, I purchased a cake for a gift to someone, and the staff packed the cake with a generic cake box instead of their branded box. I found it was very weird. Because there were so many of those branded boxes lying in the fridge and shelves, and the staff said they couldn't use it.

  • 5/5 Edmund C. 4 years ago on Google
They've got a huge space, with very comfy sofa seats and mouthwatering looking cakes and pastries on offer. Go for their berry brownie, that thing is the bomb, and their lemon tarts are really good too. Coffee is good too. They've also got a branch in Melbourne Central, but I think this is the OG.

Reverie Cafe & Dessert is located on Izett Street in Prahran. Owned by Chef Pierrick Boyer of Le Petit Gateaux this cafe is what dessert dreams are made of. Offering a range of incredible cakes, pastries & coffee as well as a brunch/lunch menu, Reverie has a gorgeous modern fitout & I must admit I am a regular customer although I’m yet to try the brunch menu as my eyes gravitate towards the cakes. The passion brownie & berry brownie are favourites of mine, deliciously decadent & the fanciest brownies I’ve ever seen. All the cakes are stunning & I will eventually try all of them as I tend to take one to go when leaving. All the tiny details even in the gorgeous embossed take away boxes, so much class & elegance. The parking around Prahran due to construction has affected foot traffic but that is yet to deter me & roadworks should be completed soon which will make Reverie an even busier patisserie. Reverie has also opened outlets in Westfield Doncaster & the CBD so plenty more options to access these impressive desserts & meet the lovely team.

I requested change last minute on the cake and the waitress, pastry chef and manager made this slight panic attack of mine go away and were very kind with changing the cake to the design we wanted. Friendly waitress once I picked up the cake. I also tried the pink Charlotte Tiffany cake and Brownie which was delicious with the coffee.

We've been here twice so far and both times have been wonderful. The food is fantastic (I recommend the duck confit toastie and their original and beautifully presented smashed avo). The atmosphere is relaxing and the highlight for me has been the lovely waitress who served us both times - she makes us feel so welcome! This is definitely one of my favourite cafes in Prahran.

Food was bland. Service was unhelpful and often absent. Cakes were good to great and the coffee was very good. Grab a cake and a coffee and take it to the nearby park if you'd like but forgo the food and taking a seat. It made for quite the disappointing Father's day lunch.

Thank you so much for an amazing day filled with a wide selection of food and cakes. Everything was just spectacular, including the friendly staff with the chic and family-friendly/dog-friendly atmosphere. The portions were generous and we did not have to wait for long for our food to arrive. Our breakfast and cakes were just decadent and so indulgent. Will definitely come back again, especially after a Saturday sports run with very hungry children!
