Staff lovely Great selection of drinks Gluten free pizza costs $2 more than regular one, and is 50% of the size of the regular one. Base was undercooked. It's 2023 and there are plenty of gluten free pizzas that are a normal size and taste great. Either remove the option from the menu or do better.

Wanted to like this place more. Great beer selection. Friendly staff. Nice space. Noisy for a restaurant (or even for a pub). Generous serves. Had higher hopes for the steak sandwich. Meat could have been half as thick and more briefly cooked.

July 2023 Dr Morse Bar is a great place to visit. I've been going there for some time, and it doesn't disappoint. With an exciting range of tap beers, think English Ales, you could easily be transported to an English pub. On my last visit, I had roast beef, and this was one of the top restaurant roasts I've ever had. This was so good. I am almost salivating thinking about it now, haha. My partner had a mushroom risotto, which had some good flavour, and it was tasty. But my roast was pretty special. That and a pint of Ohara's Irish Craft Beer, and I was set. Happy days! I will definitely be back again and again. Amazing bar. Think wood panels, old school, English pub style. The beers are excellent, and the food is absolutely delicious. The service from the waiter was fantastic. He was extremely attentive and friendly. This place is a must visit! It's on Collins St with plenty of trams.

The upstairs of The Sherlock Holmes, & it’s definitely equally good. We had everything we always order. Well, this joint upstairs instead gives us more space & room to move about, & to chat more comfortably. Their hospitality is wonderful & quick. All staff are truly attentive.

Great selection of UK beers. Roast dinner option is always a winner too. Get your inner pommie on and give it a go. All the usual pub favourites are available here along with a great variety of British dishes. And if you've ever travelled on the London underground (the tube) you'll get a nice nostalgia hit when you first walk in.

Dined here recently with some friends - we had tried to book The Sherlock Holmes downstairs but it was fully booked for trivia, but managed to get a table upstairs (which was also surprisingly busy for a Tuesday night). The Steak and Guinness Pie alone is worth the visit - one of the best pies we've all had in a long time. It is generously filled with lots of flavour, and served with a good side helping of crispy chips and tasty, thick gravy. Good drinks selection too including a number of British ales and cider. Will definitely revisit again in the not too distant future.

Had a fantastic Chicken BLT served in a tasty Turkish roll with equally tasty chips. Very filling. Paired with a fantastic Scottish Brown Ale (or 2). Excellent atmosphere, great staff! Thank you 😁

Well appointed Dr Watson bar located on top of Sherlock Holmes pub. Open view over Collins St and a good quality of drinks to choose

Good atmosphere and friendly staff. Downside is there are very few vegetrian main options. Asked the waiter and was suggested to try Nachos. Nachos were very dry and missing the salsa sauce. For $ 17 it was not worth it.

Great bar on Collins St. Above ground option better than the dingy underground Sherlock. Range of beers on taps was good. Even had Moon Dog Fizzer which was a nice option. Had the chicken schnitzel for dinner which was outstanding. A great mini pub for catching up with a small group.

We had a nice lunch, it was the first time I have had a steak pie in four years (I am Vegan), seeing a Guinness and steak pie was to much to pass on, I have to say I wish I had. It was ok but nothing special. The pub is good, almost has the British feel. Location was good, under staffed people needed to wait to be severed, but I think that is just the times we are living in.

I was disappointed. Ordered with a colleague. Roast of the day, something that should be ready to serve. Colleague got his meal fairly quickly, mine was not served with his. Ok, happy to wait a bit. They started bringing out the meals for a large group, and for a couple that order ed after me. I asked if mine was coming. Yes after the big group. My colleague had finished by then. I went to get a refund and even that was a chore. "Did I want take away?" No. Will not be back to Dr Watson's or Sherlock Holmes, not for a long time.

Modern version of the downstairs bar. An amazing wine list and the food is really good. Best beef and Guinness pie I've ever had!

Adjacent to Sherlock Holmes this is a partner in solving crime we all need as a bar. Great food and service like Sherlock and just as good ambience. A great bar hop from the Holmes or for something different

Great city pub to meet friends. Very friendly and attentive staff. Food is yummy. I had barramundi with potato mash and coleslaw, which was delicious. Each meal in our group of 6 was very good. Battered fish and chips, Guinness pie, nachos, bangers and mash with mushy peas, all were tasty. Reasonable prices too. Decor is eclectic and pays homage to super sleuth Sherlock Holmes and his off-sider, Dr Watson. Dishes are named accordingly. Typical English pub dishes blended with modern cuisine, caters for every palate.

Absolutely horrible experienced. Call up the place and managed to get a booking for 22 for a work function. Received a call 24 hours before the event to say that our reservation has been thrown out the window. If you need to book a large group event, do not book this place and would reccomend somewhere that wouldn’t cancel on you last minute.

Real English Beer. Hand pulled on tap. I've been searching melbourne for real hand pulled english Beer for my dad. Found this place and took him here for his 84th birthday. Beer was great, roast dinner and pies were amazing, service was quick and friendly.

I enjoyed Dr Watson's though originally booked into Sherlock Holmes downstairs (extremely poor reservation system....don't even answer the phone or return messages). Lucky for the same owners that we were able to get into Dr Watson's upstairs. Turned out to be the better place for service and dare I say food (though the menus were the same). Staff in Dr Watson's were helpful and attentive. (Downstairs in Sherlock Holmes, they were rushed and apologetic but could offer no solutions. I'm glad that Melbourne has many choices to go dining in, and I guess this is what the owners also believe.

Dr Watson’s bar is an English bar. I have been to Dr Watson’s bar more than several times. They are consistently good. The pork roast, fish and chips, and Parma chicken are delicious. The bar staff are helpful. They have sports TV for those who watches live sports.

Great inner city 'pub' serving mainly UK beers & food. The food & drinks are very good... and the staff are nice too. 😊 Well worth a visit, if you're in Melbourne.

The best Steak & Guinness pie I’ve ever eaten. The Mrs had vegetarian lasagne and that was awesome too (sorry no photos).

Good pub, pretty solid beer collection. Would be nice to see a few more familiar British beers on tap but guessing supply meets demand! Bar staff were fab and pints were very well poured. Bit lighter than the Holmes next door

A very cosy pub with friendly staff. Good place to meet for conversation as its not very noisy. The food portions are generous closes by 9pm..pleasent staff. Nice ambience.

A nice little bar, not as cosy as it’s next door neighbour and partner bar “The Sherlock Holmes”, Dr Watson’s Bar is more of an open atmosphere. Great array of drinks and service is good. It a colder temperature than other bars so keep warm.

Loved this place. Food was good with great ambient. I'm a big fan of Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson so seeing a themed bar that doesn't go so excessive in theme and keeping its Britishness is just nice. Staff were also sweet and friendly.

The place had a nice atmosphere and vibe to it. Reasonably busy on the Tuesday night that I visited, which shows its popularity with locals. They have a good selection of food on the menu, and I opted for a more adventurous dish in the Moroccan Lamb Cutlet salad, instead of my usual burger or Chicken parmigiana, and I wasn't disappointed. Full of flavour, presented well and worth the price. They also have a good selection of beers and a couple of ciders on tap. I will endeavour to visit again on my next trip to Melbourne.
