Dear Sir/Madam, Sub: Worst Selection of Spirits and very bad HOUSE wine with low supply of basic snacks- Cashews, peanuts and chips in the bar including the ambiance Visited Thrice to your bar. Degrading standards in the venue in the bar. I am highly disappointed the head bar man attitude and the some staff in your Cricketters bar. Lame menu and except 2 Australian staff other staff members are pretty cool who can learn and adapt and improve their career with passion with a balance of customer service. Single Malt scotch selection are terrible. Nothing innovative in the bar menus and quick snacks and please recruit proper bar staff. I am highly dissapointed. Thank you. Sincerely yours, Maria.

Do you feel like steamed sausages and potato puree? Perhaps some stale, heavily battered fish that has been frozen for three years? Terrible food, like bad British cuisine. Outdated decor and wobbly chairs. No music or atmosphere. They don't cater for allergies, so beware. They may say they can offer some options, but they are not careful or empathetic and they have waivers on the menu saying they can't. So take this seriously and eat elsewhere or you will get sick. Nothing positive about this very old and run down bar that serves most food from a deep fryer. Lots of good food options on Collins St, just walk down the road or go to the Imperial Hotel if you want pub food.

Ducked in here to avoid the rain (and protesters) and was such a pleasant surprise. Love the decor, staff were so helpful and friendly and drinks went down a treat. Looking forward to returning in the future!

A few good wines by the glass, a pint of balter XPA and a club sandwich at the crickets bar 🍷🍺🥪 The club sandwich needed the bacon to be crispy but apart from that it’s ok

We ate dinner outside on a warm summer night. Special dinner offer was a choice of mains, a glass of wine or beer for $25. The chicken parmigiana was enormous and fish and chips were delicious. Waitress and bar person were friendly and attentive. Old worlde feel of surrounds made us feel comfortable and relaxed after all the lock downs we've experienced it was nice to eat out again. Recommended.

Enjoyed a nice simple lunch - good quality pub style food, comfortable atmosphere and friendly service

This place was right off the free tram. The chicken Parma was succulent and flavorful. The chorizo croquettes were crunchy and pillowy and packed with flavor. The wagyu burger was also very good.

This place is trading on its name, it's definitely a minimum effort bar. Their selection is very basic and honestly they could do so much better. Ordered a pims at 7pm on a Friday night: it appeared with no cucumber, no mint. Was told they were all out. This isn't really acceptable given the close proximity of supermarkets in the Melbourne CBD. (Update, in reply to the reply from the venue: Mint is a common ingredient in many cocktails, not just a simple pims, I think that's a bit of a cop out. Appreciate that you took the feedback onboard.)

What fantastic staff I encountered during my stay here! I stayed in the Windsor Hotel for two nights in July 2022, and the staff at The Cricketer's Bar at the hotel were outstanding! Scott and Tamara were incredibly warm, welcoming and helpful. These adjectives really don't do them justice. It's been such a long time since I've come across bar staff of their calibre. The Windsor Hotel is very lucky to have them. Thank you so much Scott and Tamara. Libby (from Ireland)

The Cricketers Bar won't make the cut for best bars in town. I have dropped into this bar several dozen times over the years. It's a low key, no nonsense locale with friendly interactive staff that don't mind engaging. It's rather traditional and blokey with a mixture of suits on weekdays and some casual types. Ladies, if you're visiting on your own, particularly late afternoons and early evenings Mon through Friday then, without question, you can expect new company. Complementing the old school ambience and presentation is the 1970's era cricketing memorabilia that line the walls. Depending on your taste it's well worth the visit.

Nice bar with outdoor seating with good view at the top end of town. Met four girlfriends here for a pre dinner drink early on a Thursday evening. Was quite busy, with most of the outside tables taken. Had a gin and tonic with the house gin - Bombay Sapphire for $9 and no surcharge for paying by credit card.

We cane here on our last day in Australia and it did not disappoint! Everything about this place is great. You can’t beat the lunch specials at $20, for one dish and a small glass of beer! The variety of beer on tap was good, but the food was amazingly much better than we had expected. The place is in an old building right across from Parliament, so alfresco dining allows you to enjoy a nice view of Parliament on a nice day, while drinking inside can let you enjoy the history in the architecture. Staff were very hospitable and patient with us as well.

Great bar within The Hotel Windsor. Loved it. Any cricket fan would love this bar and all the wonderful memorabilia 🙂. I was fortunate enough to watch the end of the boxing day test there 2023 🙂.

This place probably hasn't changed for ever. The tables outside overlooking Parliament attracted us as we could watch the world go by and enjoy some beer and food. The service on the night we were there was a little slow BUT excellent. The bar was being run by two people who both deserved much more pay than they probably get. All the time they remained smiling and cheerful. Not only were they running the bar but also delivering food ordered via the internet system. Great work and thanks for a lovely evening.

The Cricketers Club, what else do you need to know. The drinks are good. Food too, although I have tried only the chips. The place is happening, busy and loud, for colleagues and friends for a quick catch up after work. The vibe is entertaining. Please do visit to know yourself, i have been there twice and definitely will visit again. Recommend.!!

The Northerer behind the bar was shockingly rude. He basically shouted at people to go to another bar eight minutes before close. Funny, were it not so shockingly rude.

I really love the ambience of the hotel and the bar. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. They offer bar meals during the weekday. The portion is not quite big, but the favour is better than most restaurants I have been to. Really recommend to everyone.

Came in and ordered a beer, then old mate behind the bar says to his mate “oh bro my throat really hurts.” Are you serious mate? Why are you at work infecting everyone in the bar than? We were going to settle in for the afternoon but instead we finished our beers and left.

Meeting friends from interstate staying at The Windsor Hotel for a drink so what better spot then The Cricketer's Arms. Sat outside on a sunny Saturday afternoon and enjoyed drinks (Prosecco, Chardonnay, Gin and tonic, lemon squash and coffee). Also shared some delicious wedges. So much to look at on Spring Street, at least 10 wedding parties arriving in stretch limos or classic cars to get photos taken on steps of Parliament House or even demonstrators on the steps! Wanted decaf soy latte but didn't do, no decaf, no soy, so had to have another Prosecco! The Cricketer's Arms is an instutition and a great place to people watch!

7:44 4 The Cricketers Bar Post Garry Hay Posting publicly® 29th December 2022 - fish and chips with glass of wine $25. beware the old adage "you get what you pay for". This has to be the the most disappointing meal I have had, bar one.. The fish was almost non existent within a a thick unpalatable batter, the overall quality of the meal was so poor that it is surely an embarrassment for an establishment such as The Windsor Hotel. It is so sad to think that the Cricketers Bar at the Windsor, an iconic venue that held such a sense of history and nostalgia is now serving such inedible meals. A waiter serving food was most helpful and did their best to help us clear up a broken glass, caused by myself. However, the other bar staff reflected no enthusiasm for their roles.. for which I do not blame them, as this is an obvious reflection of their workplace and management. Hopefully at some stage in the future the Cricketers Bar will gain a management that can reflect the grandeur and hospitality this bar deserves. 23

Just a brilliant hidden gem! Tam and the crew are just delightful. The sporting memorabilia is almost enough just to go into the bar for a look and see. Lunch specials are exceptionally good value. First rate!

We sat outside on Christmas eve sipping Rose and beer and watched shoppers stroll past. It was very tranquil considering its postion on a busy street. Staff were attentive and friendly. A delightful place to rest up.

Not a wonderful atmosphere any more. Charging $9 for a pot. I feel truely sorry for the staff having to ask such ridiculous prices. I live in spring street and won’t ever be back. Greed is not attractive General management.
