Newhall Surgery

Doctor Surgical center

😠 Had a call from a doctor who told me to ring the surgery to make an appointment for a blood test 20 minutes later no answer. some one said the receptionist`s are rude, I totally agree. If the reception staff where on boarder control then no one would get into the Country. People often mention appointment, time, surgery, call, minutes, phone,

This is hands down the WORST surgery in Swadlincote. Zero consideration for patients and their additional needs, zero respect, zero comprehension of GDPR - my private medical data was sent to someone else’s address, someone who doesn’t ever attend the surgery or is registered there and the surgery and the receptionist who sent and signed the letters refused to apologise or accept any fault on their part. When I called to query this I was told this wasn’t their problem, not their issue and she had nothing to apologise for, it was her name at the bottom of the letter! They never answer the phone. You came never get an appointment. Never mind the fact that they profile people, my step-father nearly died because of the poor care and attention they give their patients. When I called to advise of my pregnancy I was met with “So, going through with it then?” over the phone…..

Find this surgery very 50/50. For vaccines, its been great. One doctor in particular is great, but last 2 appoints have been shocking, mainly because of the booking system. I hope someone from the surgery reads this so they can improve. My issues are: 1) First attempt at an appointment, I had to take time off work however, it got cancelled last minute due to the nurse being ill however I was not informed before I turned up. A voice message was left on my phone to call but no mention of the appointment being cancelled. As my appointment was soon after 8:00 the lines were not free to call before I needed to leave home. This meant I needed to book more time off work for another appointment, which could have been avoided if the initial message had confirmed the cancellation and allow me to go to work on time then rearrange at a more suitable time 2) On arriving at my second appointment (bang on time to the minute) it was cancelled because I was not early enough as I was genuinely stuck unusually heavy traffic. I agree that this is acceptable behaviour if I was late but not when I am just in time. The machine registered as 1 minute late because the few seconds that it took me to check in was enough to class as 1 minute late. I find this particularly frustrating as all my previous visits where I have arrived more than 15 minutes early, I have found the appointment late by about 15 minutes so waited around for 30 minutes. Clearly the Nurse I was due to see was keen to get home that evening. 3) Finally the reception staff tried to be helpful to find another appointment and after much effort eventually came up with a suitable time

Absolute joke. Rang up at exactly 8am, after 22 times of trying to get through on my mobile phone i decided to also use the landline to get through (2 phones on the go - it was getting ridiculous!), to be then put on hold for another 15 minutes only to be told "No appointments are available, ring back at 1pm" How on EARTH is there no appointments when I rang up at 8am and took 30 minutes to EVENTUALLY get through!! 🤬 Hiding behind "covid" I'm guessing!

What's the point in have an IVR to send you to the correct place (which even if you know the number you want to press it just starts the recording all over again) if instead of putting me in a queue you just end the call? 15 times in a row I called, purely out of stubborness and 15 time you made me listen to that man thanking me for calling up and then ultimately hanging up on me.

When Dr Jamison was my G.P no question this was a 5 star practice!! However, having been to see a G.P tonight, he asked 3 times if I had numbness or loss of sensation in my fingers?!?! I pondered, “Well no, as it’s my foot and toes that hurt!!” I even had an x-ray on the said foot about 4 weeks ago so can only hope he was looking at the correct patient / x-ray. Ultimately advised that despite all the problems I’m having it would take about 3 months to get a referral (naturally he advised that paying privately would speed things up) and said if it gets any worse I should make another appointment to be seen. Given it’s taken me 4 weeks since the x-ray to get this appointment and that was the advice I got, I’m considering starting to call first thing tmrw morning in the hope I can be seen before the end of 2023 (yes that’s 2023) for the follow up deterioration appointment!

Terrible, not interested in actually listening to your symptoms and it’s unbelievable how uninterested they are. Update: After visitng this doctors various times with having a bad back with sheer stifness and other sysmtoms for around 14 years they have had the abilty to listen and actually refer to anyone except greystones. I saw a GP at the swad clinic and she reffered me to a specialist. Thankfully the speiclaiyt was amazing, listened and sent me for a blood test to check for HLA-B27. To which it came back positive and thankfully after so many years im getting the help i needed and not just a useless physio appointment which does very little. This dosctors are usless and all need go and pack shelves for a living and are glorified google advice.

Awful. I would give 0 stars if I could. Rude receptionists, once you can get through, which you can't most of the time. Avoid like the plague, which if you have and are trying to get an appointment here god help you! I ring and ring and ring and the automated voice thanks me for calling, reels off a minute of unskippable info, only to get an error tone and be cut off instead of getting through to reception.

The people behind the desk are rude / they sigh when there talking to you and have a sligh sarcastic way of speaking to you. They just sound not interested in what you have to say. Horrible I'm switching.

We are both very grateful for the ongoing service you provide. In more difficult times than before COVID. More patients having to be taken on. Receiptionists on the go 8 till 6. Times have changed for everyone. Cannot imagine where we would be without our NHS. So thank you to all at the surgery. You are appreciated, your dedication. All the jabs you rolled out. It's a shame to see poor feedback. All's we can say is we still have a good service. Always treated with dignity.

Awful, no one picks up the phone. When you do manage to get through on the rare occasion they only offer you a doctor call back, I've been waiting forever to see a doctor about my condition. Was told if it's that bad go to A and E. Would give 0 stars if I could.

I went to register. All the staff were very pleasant to me. I filed the forms in there and was helped in a friendly manner with the few queries I had.

Rude receptionists and they give the wrong information to the doctors so when you collect your prescription it's not right, so you have to then book a appointment with the doctor to discuss who gave the wrong information to get wrong prescription, not helpful and mess people about not professional at all, with what's going on in the world you would think they would be a bit more sympathetic
