This is an up & coming Animal Park, at the moment it does not warrant the price they are asking two Adults and a 2 year old £19. Large field area sectioned off with fence for animals. Donkeys, sheep, goats, Alpacas one pig, ponies. No names or information regarding animals on fences for the children to view. When i say up and coming the area is still obviously being built. We arried at 12 so unable to go to the animal petting which is at 11.00am and 2.00pm. Didnt see any rabbits etc unsure where they are kept but not on show after these times. Outdoor play area for young children with sand pit. No Picnics signs say only food from cafe to b eaten. Indoor play area with sand pit. The indoor is where cafe is cakes, pastry. Food for animals £1. Im sure when they get on their feet it will be fine but at the moment very expensive fore what you get. All restrictions for Covid in place one way , sanitizer. Healthy animals but was rather disappointed.

Honestly I think this is literally one of my favourite places in the world to visit, purely because of how welcoming and kind the staff are and how we always have such a lovely traditional fun and relaxed family day together at this farm. Today another lovely visit with the staff even pumping up a bouncy castle for my little boy, he loved feeding the super cute animals and the indoor play area has so many toys and a sandpit so he was fully occupied whilst we enjoyed the cakes !!!

Fantastic family run farm with sheep, donkeys, pygmy goats, Shetland ponies, lilac Bantam chickens, alpacas, miniature pig, rabbits and Guinea pigs. Reasonable entry price and bags of feed available for 50p. A great place to take young children.

Actually quite good fun although basic. Ideal for younger kids, fairly cheap. They have sheep, cheeky goats, pigs, alpacas, etc which can all be fed. There's also a small children's play area. Best to go when the sun is out though.

Our grandson enjoyed his visit. Very expensive for what it is and food not good at all. Lovely play barn with bouncing castle and toys. My grandson was able to stroke a rabbit but then the handler just stood holding it. Poor toilet vacilities with broken sink and lack of toilet roll. Every where looks run down. Lovely sand pit outside with a slide .

Just spent over two hours here with my 5 year old granddaughter. She held a guinea pig, a rabbit and a chick. She also met their 45 year old tortoise. The animals are beautifully cared for and really friendly. We fed ponies, donkeys, sheep, goats and alpacas. The indoor area had a delightful café and a bouncy castle and slide. There was an abundance of ride on toys and a lovely sandpit. The staff were very welcoming. A lovely visit. Well worth theentry cost.

First time visiting and was quite disappointed. The farm looked really unkempt, unmowed and a bit worn. Animals were beautifully looked after and receptive to being fed by visitors which was lovely. We felt it was quite expensive, considering we could walk round, play on the park and have a snack and be done in 2 hours... The staff were really friendly and helpful, a credit to the farm.

We enjoyed a lovely first visit here. I couldn't believe how much there was to do and they had gone to so much effort for Halloween. Animal petting in the barn was lovely, my child had a great time feeding the animals outside too. The farm is the perfect size for younger children. The Halloween trail was great and there are lots of fun options for play. The indoor barn was fab, activities, bouncy castle, sand pit and role play area were very popular. Was great that we could eat our picnic in there too. We will definitely be back, we loved it!

My partner found this delightful place, and I booked our visit out the blue as a little surprise. And a surprise it was....we had a lovely time , kids loved the barn play area. And walking around the animals was fun.....bit muddy, but to be expected as it had rained the night before. wellies would be a good idea for the wetter weather. Staff members were very friendly and helpfull and the coffee was superb. Various toys for the kids to play with plus a sand pit and bouncy castle for the toddler. Our little two very much enjoyed it, and we're definitely going again. The only suggestion I have is, directions to the entrance.

This review is only for the cafe, not the Animal Farm (we didn't visit the animals). The lunch was hugely disappointing, £7 for a tiny jacket potato with minimal DRY tuna (oddly it wasn't mixed into any mayo!) and cheese. Nothing to accompany it, no salad garnish, coleslaw, etc. This after a 40 minute wait and we were only one of two customers. After another 10 mins passed (50 minutes from ordering) we gave up waiting and asked for a refund on my wife's cheese salad and my son's cheese sandwich. Toilets not great either. The staff wanted £5 for each of our kids to go on the bouncy castle whilst we waited, which we thought was a rip off so decided to pass on that. Very disorganised and staff clearly poorly trained. The worst cafe I've visited in 8 years of living in Derbyshire, do not recommend!

Visited yesterday with the family, kids absolutely loved it. The animal handling was brilliant, the staff really patient. My little one is a bit nervous around rabbits and she did really well. All animals well looked after. Lovely tea room too.

Visited Melbourne Animal Farm today and it was the best day out the children have ever had. The handling was a blast, the kids loved the rabbit, guinea pig and tortoise. The staff was very knowledgeable about the animals and answered all the questions the kids had to ask! Outside animals were loving the sunshine and very happy to see us, they look very healthy and happy with life, they very much enjoyed being petted. Toilets were spotless, easily locatable and there if you need it. Took my mum she was disabled, she had access to the toilet as they had a ramp. Play area and inside play was great, kept the kids entertained while we sat down and some lunch from the cafe. Bouncy castle is the one the kids enjoyed the most definitely best way to end the day. Food was great, kitchen staff was helpful in showing us where the sauces and stuff are and overall interactable.

The farm was great and animals were good . the cafe was a disappointment. There were 4 sandwiches in the fridge (and 5 of us) and all the cakes are from aldi and also overpriced. Had there been something to eat we'd of stayed longer

Had a really good time, went with my partner and my 16 month old - the little one loved seeing/feeding the animals and they were really gentle with him. Afterwards had a nice cup of coffee and some hot food from the cafe. There is also play areas for the children😊

Visited this beautiful little farm today for the first time with my twin 3 year old boys. Such a friendly , relaxing place to visit , staff were all friendly and helpful , animals looked well looked after and the play area for the children both indoors and outside was plentiful for all young ages to enjoy . I arrived at 10.30am and left at 3.30pm ..my children absolutely loved it and so did I , some people may say there isn’t a lot there to do ? Iv been to the bigger fun farms and they are good in their own right but this little place is somewhere in my eyes more unique to go for a reasonable day out , away from the crowds and hustle and bustle , just to enjoy the scenery , the animals , let the children run free and play in the sunshine , stress free which in this day and age let’s face it is rare! I would recommend Melbourne Animal Farm to my friends with young children without a doubt and also for individuals or families just wanting a chilled few hours . I can’t wait to go back one day soon! Ps- lovely little cafe too with more toys , bouncy castle , drawing and sand pit !

The play equipment was reasonable, the kids enjoyed it, the price ok. The horse looked underfed and skinny. Grazing where there was nothing to graze on and no way to feed it as there seemed to be some kind of fence between the gate and him. I felt bad about leaving him there. The ducks could use fresh water, the birds in the barn were in a far too small cage. It was difficult to find as the sign doesn't face where you can see it just driving past.

The farm is lovely and has loads to do for children indoor and outdoor. Shame about picnic NOT being allowed and VERY poor quality food and expensive in their own café. We hope they'll change that to be able to spend there all day as the kids loved it
