What a transformation since the last Akshaya. Some items in the menu from the old restaurant has disappeared, however the ambience and the presentation makes it quite an occasion. Once you’re inside the restaurant, you will not believe that this restaurant is in Kensington. It’s really posh inside. Been there 4 times now. Will recommend anyone. Prices are reasonable too. Food is real authentic Indian/Sri Lankan.

I’ve never had Indian food before, and was pleasantly surprised with Akshaya. Though the kitchen couldn’t guarantee there would be no contamination of nuts to cater for my allergies, the staff were still helpful to assure me that the food was safe to eat. I had a lovely potato curry and rice that was, though a little spicy, very different to my usual tastes but absolutely delicious. The extravagant exterior of the restaurant is only overshadowed by the incredible interior design of the restaurant that sent me into an amiable mood. The mango lassi is a must-try here; a refreshing drink after a long workout. Akshaya was a great introduction to South Indian cuisine and I can’t wait to try more of their menu again!

If you're in Liverpool, and like me find yourself disappointed in the local food, you've better run to this place ASAP! I wish someone told us about it sooner! Food and staff were 10/10 GREAT!

I love this place. The food is delicious, service is friendly and the inside of the building looks very fancy! The bar area is separate from the restaurant if you just want a few drinks. Cocktails are AMAZING! Highly recommend this place!

We just visit Liverpool and by chance we see Akshaya restaurant and we decide to go for dinner at Akshaya. Firstly I am saying about the restaurant ambience. It is so astonishing because its lighting arrangement is so illustrious. Then saying about their staff (in my side),they are warm welcoming and friendly. They know how to treat a customer because our oder is taken by a lady staff and her name is kerthi . She is so kindly and respectful. At last saying about their food, we ordered Chicken kothporotta,Akshaya special friedrice,chicken biriyani,butter naan and butter chicken. Each of the items one by one better. But from this I really like kothporotta. So must visit for a tryout…

The best restaurant I've ever been to. The staff are immaculate and so lovely and helpful. The food, wow, unbelievable, we got lamb bhuna and lamb byriani, there was so much lamb, melted in your mouth too, got devilled chicken for starter, absolutely gorgeous as the mains were,and the prices are affordable, so much cheaper than any other Indian restaurants. When u walk in u just don't expect it to be so beautiful and spotless inside. Must of cost a fortune, the decor is juat beautiful. Been twice un 2 weeks, would if been more but didn't even know it was there.

Food was delicious(vegetarian, vegan options available), staff was very polite , understanding and paying attention to detail. My partner at some point was trying my food which may contain ingredients not suitable for her and staff got worried and make sure she is aware that my food isn’t suitable for her( which we find nice). The decorations inside is just outstanding and breathtaking. We couldn’t just believe that this fancy place is just in front of our nose and never thought about checking it out until recently. But we are glad we did. I highly recommend foods lovers to check this place out. Thank you and we will definitely come back

Wow! What can I say. The food, the decor the atmosphere is amazing - I can't recommend Akshaya enough. I have told everyone I can about coming here, and can't wait to go back. It has amazing food, drinks and the place is stunning, really amazing place to take pictures and has a great vibe, so perfect for a lunch or night out with friends or family party. I would really recommend the Biriyani, Lamb Chops, Butter Chicken and Chilli Paneer, they also have the most fluffiest Parathas which really compliment the curry. I wish I could have tried everything on the menu! I got a few extra bits including a Dosa as a take away as was travelling back to London and even after a few long hours in the car everything tasted fresh and full of flavour.

Service is good... Ambience is just superb. Quality of food is nice. But pricing bit high compared to even Saravana Bhavan in London. Ample parking space is available behind and cleanliness is just excellent. Most of the Indian And Srilankan cuisines are served here... But they can increase the items on menu for sure...

Absolutely delicious and well presented. Service was excellent and very friendly. A good varied menu with plenty of vegetarian options. The decor is beautiful and sets an ambience. It was a busy evening and the atmosphere was chatty but relaxed. Would highly recommend.

we went on a weekday evening so there was alot of availability and they managed to get us a good table without a reservation. The food is halal aswell which is what we were looking for. The service was quick and polite. The portion sizes are good and the food tastes great! The atmosphere was the best part.

It’s my humble opinion (IMHO) but I think it is the Best Asian food restaurant in Liverpool! The curries are very tasty, I actually think their entire menu is worth a try! I am a fan of this place and I fully recommend it!

Amazing food. Don’t be fooled by the spice ratings. The dishes are only very spicy if you specifically ask for it. Food is very tasty and mains are large portions. Highly recommend.

Came here yesterday with a group of friends. And everything was amazing. The food was delicious and fresh. The staff are amazing who look after you and nothing is any trouble. Toilets are spotless and the decor inside is beautiful. The best south Indian restaurant in Liverpool. If you haven't been, you definitely need to try it. You will not be disappointed at all. A hidden jewel just a few miles from the city centre in Kensington. The most beautiful interior. The staff are wonderful and their dress code impeccable. The food is absolutely wonderful and very fairly priced and the bar is a lovely place to sit and relax and enjoy one of their superb cocktails. Not enough people even know about this place. Go....you won't be disappointed...you will be amazed!! The interior is spectacular!

My birthday and our family of 7 sat in a large booth. The decor is fantastic and choice of beers to choose from as we looked at the menu was the best I’ve seen in a restaurant We ordered several starters for the table and all were excellent Great choice of mains, including large choice for the two vegetarians in our group. Again the food excellent I must also mention the staff. Service was exceptional. Couldn’t do enough for us Our first visit but will not be our last

Well my first rating at UK and Liverpool and I've been to there the restaurant. Had Indian especially Kerala style porotta and had mutton biryani plus butter chicken. So delicious and rate is Lil bit high when we compare with our country 😜. Btw had a great food with my family.

Visited here again last night and after reading a few negative reviews recently I was slightly concerned. However these concerns were certainly unfounded. The food was, as it always has been, outstanding. The service was excellent and the atmosphere in the restaurant was great. The place was very busy yet the ample amount of staff were attentive friendly and helpful. All of our food came out in good time was delicious and hot. All of our group thought exactly the same. Great night great food and will definitely return once again soon.

We visited during our stay to Liverpool. The service was great. The food we ordered was amazing! Very flavourful and i was really taken back by how pretty the restaurant is. Certainly an Instagramable restaurant if you’re into aesthetics.

Such a beautifully uplifted Akshaya. This was my first trip during the pandemic but I was so pleasantly surprised. Its a much transformed place with much higher quality of food. The ambiance was surreal as not many places in Liverpool would offer such a setting.

Not all places win my heart, but this one starting with its simple but beautiful dome, soothing and exciting colours, a high ceiling and comfortable seating plan, courteous and delightful staff was something that made Liverpool worth it. Best Indian food in the city.

Akshaya catered for party and their service was excellent. Tommy, their manager and Chef Lalu were exceptional on the day and sorting everything out prior. Attention to detail and the quality of food was just fabulous. Would recommend them to cater for events. Been to the restaurant many times, which has a fabulous ambiance and food choices.

Wow!! What an amazing experience I and my family had at Akshaya! We went there last Saturday and we soon found that the atmophere was well family oriented and every staff was servant hearted yet the restaurant seems so royal. Most importantly the food was outstanding, excellent! I and my family felt so royal the way the staffs served us was too great. My sister Jane told me that she truly felt she was very important and special. I am so grateful for my friend who introduced and invited us to experience the great food and atmosphere!!

Roban was our host, and what a fantastic host. Very knowledgeable about the food served and always on hand while we ate our meal ensuring all was perfect during our experience. The food itself was absolutely delicious and I would definitely recommend for all this who love curry’s like myself. The Indian style bread was a favorite with all at the table, hot, fresh and tasty. The venue itself is really clean and tidy with a giant fish tank and plenty of different fish to look at while waiting for food (which is not a long time by all accounts), the decor around the e restaurant is very calming and reading with dim lighting rather than bright fluorescent lights.

It was a wonderful experience I've had going back to the restaurant after a few years. I always used to have food from Akshaya while I was in Liverpool. This time I went back to Liverpool after a few years. It took me by surprise to see how well the revamped Akshaya- the Picture Drome is. It is a marvelous piece of a restaurant and the food is really tasty and not at all expensive. It fits to the pocket of the commoners even in this desperate times. Also, I was surprised to see that the type of crowd has changed and looks so elite. In short it is a great experience and a nice, cosy and warm place to spend your evenings and weekends. You will definitely love the place if you need a classic experience.

While doing some work as a handyman in an apartment with two Indian ladies, one made dinner and offered me some. It was delicious! And reminded me I've not been to an Indian restaurant for a few years. I pass Akshaya frequently and posted on social media... has anyone eaten there? All responses were positive. So decided to go. The food was delicious, the staff are absolutely lovely. And the restaurant and bar at the rear, are really nice! And... it only cost me £41 for starters, main meal (Lamb Madras) with sides: rice and naan, desert, and 2 large red wines. I then went into the bar for another glass of red and to let my meal settle for a bit. All in all, it was a perfect evening!

Stunning restaurant, beautiful inside, and the food was absolutely amazing.. Lamb chops starter were devine, perfectly cooked and juicy, very hard to pull off.. Food tastes like its been made with skill, and home cooked love and care.. Service was excellent and the ambiance...honestly one of the best restaurants I've been too.. Our family Visited Akshaya last night for the first time and were amazed. The premises comprises of 3 bars and a large spacious beautifully decorated restaurant area. As long term lovers of Asian cuisine we found the food to be the best we have tasted in 30yrs of Living in Liverpool. Staff were abundant, professional and attentive. Altogether an experience not to be missed. We will certainly be going there again.

The interior is well made and looks great at night. The aquarium inside the restaurant is an attraction as well as an entertainer for kids. Bar is attached.
