We ate at the igloo restaurant and I would have rated it higher perhaps a 2 or 3 but the attitude of the manager made me lower it to a 1 star. Let me explain…. First off they started by taking us down this set of stairs to this unfinished basement area that had the ceiling torn apart and literally had dangling wires all over and pallets of construction materials. Not exactly what I would call an upscale hotel experience. I brushed that off and we were taken to our igloo. Granted the igloo was unique we were expecting great food and great service. Especially from a high end well Know hotel such as the Drake. Well the waitress took over 10 minutes to even come greet us and take our drink orders. It then took another 15 minutes to get our drinks. We immediately put our entire order in including the appetizers and entrees. The appetizers came out somewhat quickly as did the entrees. However the waitress was yet to be seen again and I kid you not, it took well over 40 minutes to check in after we got our food. We then didn’t see her again for another 20 minutes when we asked for a dessert menu. She took her sweet time bringing that to us. We ordered our desserts which yet again took way too long to arrive. Something along 15 minutes or so. And then they brought out the wrong dessert. We immediately informed her the dessert was wrong and she said she’d be right back with the correct one. This is when we had enough. We literally sat there for 35 minutes waiting for her to bring the replacement dessert and nothing. So we finally got up and went back upstairs to the main dining room and I asked for a manager. A young lady maybe 20 years old comes over and I said she’s the manager. Well I started to explain what happened with the slow service and the first thing she says is “Did the server tell you that you can leave” followed by “oh you should have asked for me downstairs and not come up here”…. Excuse me??!?!! What absolutely terrible service. Why a manager would ever say those things is beyond me. She didn’t apologize to me. She just repeated herself yet and said something about how we can get our check downstairs and now she has to go down and get it. I was without words. Never have I had this type of poor service at a high end property. I’m sorry but this manager should not be one or at least retrained. Then on top of that she says oh I took off the dessert on your check. Again excuse me?!!? We didn’t even get our dessert of course it should be taken off. How about an apology. Now I’m not looking for a free meal or anything. The main thing I wanted was to inform a manager of how badly we were treated. But the manager was just as bad or even worse than the server.

My girlfriend and I had a couple of friends who were staying at The Drake in Oak Brook. We recently moved to downtown Chicago, IL from a different state and despite the long drive to The Drake from downtown Chicago, we decided to make the trip- it was the best decision we made. We mainly stayed in the bar area and were welcomed by an amazing staff. All had smiles on their face and were very welcoming! We had a great conversation and expressed that we had so much fun that we might be back the next night! Sure enough, the next night we were back. The 30+ minute drive was well worth it. Their staff does a great job of being welcoming and we enjoyed sitting on the patio and listening to live music. We want to give a special shoutout to: Cesar, Enrique, Francisco, and the lady at the bar whom we forgot her name but deserves to be recognized as well! Although we have dozens of restaurants and bars within walking distance from our apartment, we will still frequent The Drake in Oak Brook from here on out as our experience has been the best so far!

I visited just the lobby bar of the hotel for drinks. Pros: Friendly bartenders Delicious cocktails Sophisticated atmosphere Specious parking Cons: May be too formal for some people Pricey Overall, I had a great experience at this hotel bar. The bartenders were very friendly and made me a delicious mocktail. The atmosphere was sophisticated and upscale, but not too stuffy. I would definitely recommend this bar to anyone looking for a nice place to have a drink.

Stayed there during the week and did not mind paying more for peace and quiet compared to other less expensive places. The entrance was beautiful and the front desk gentleman was friendly. When at my room I went to take a shower and closed the sliding barn door to the bathroom to avoid a draft. The door jammed and when I attempted to unjam it, it fell off surprising the hell out of me as I stood there right out of the shower. I caught the door so that it did not hit the other wall. The AC in the room was on high and I could not find any controls so could not lower the blower. There was no extra blanket in the room so I folded my comforter to avoid being cold. The light in the bathroom kept shutting off as well. In the morning I wanted to get an early start to leave town and avoid the traffic. Called the front desk no answer at all. I went down for breakfast at 6am and there was not even a fresh coffee pot brewing or anything. I was told that the time it opens was 630am. I went back to my room and left with no breakfast. Don't know if I will be back. My sister was excited that I was staying there. I will have to tell her that all the hype is really just that and that she should go somewhere else. Her and her friends travel a lot and love to hear about new places to stay at. Looks like there was an older review about how bad the sliding barn doors are and seems that no one cares since I had the same experience not good for business. Oh well you live and learn right? Next time go somewhere else. No one has reached out to me.

Our family stayed at the Drake several days for an October 13 wedding. It was nostalgic for us, as my wife and I were married there 33 years ago. The ambience, food and service were spectacular! A special shout out to Rick and Michael for their outstanding and attentive customer service for both my wife and I as well as our daughter and her husband.

Went for "Hi Tea" for a little Christmas get together. Note: I gave 5 stars for the rooms but that's for the dining rooms. The place was really clean, the service was superior. I'd never done "high tea" before but it was very enjoyable. 5 stars given where 5 stars deserved... 🙂

Every single staff member I interacted with went out of their way to create a positive experience. The doorman, the front desk manager, the bartender. My regards to Joshua and Rigo, the only names I caught during my short stay! It’s an old building which comes with some limitations like thin walls. But the room interiors are updated with modern elements. The food at the restaurant is top notch. And they also have a fun homage to the origins of drake hotel with the drake “key”. You’ll know what I mean if you choose to stay here. There may be some newer/better hotels in the area but I thought this place was truly great.

Love, love, loved the Drake in oak Brook. Our room was beautiful, the service was exceptional, the room service was awesome and the food was so delicious. Ricky was our valet attendant he went about and beyond to make sure we were happy. I highly recommend the Drake in Oak Brook we were so happy, were going back to rent a suite for the weekend. Such a beautiful, beautiful experience. Never disappointed.

Stayed Nov 30. The room was small. The only chair (and I had my wife with me) was situated in the corner on the same wall as the TV, so it was useless for watching TV. Sitting or laying on the bed is not the best for that. No desk to do any work. The climate control system was out of whack. The room temp was 73 and the A/C is inoperable in winter. Had to open the window the get some cool air, and was serenaded by the music from the patio, which I really didn't want. Quite frankly, I would likely have been as comfortable in a Fairfield Inn. I will say that the lobby was modestly but nicely decorated for Christmas.

First impressions mean everything and these guys deserve a shout out: Josh, Walter, Rick. These guys made check-in and checkout a breeze, and set our stay off in the best possible way. I'm mentioning this first because so many "higher end" hotels offer a valet service, but I've had the opposite experience more often than not. So kudos to Josh Walter and Rick for going above and beyond every time & the hotel owners for properly staffing, and allowing these individuals the autonomy to properly do their job. Beyond that, we were in town as close family for a 2 - day wedding event at this hotel. So these guys (and many others behind the scenes - the restaurant team, and the team who set and tore down rooms) were instrumental in making sure these events went smoothly. Small touches that mean a lot: Thoughtful room placement & upgrades of wedding guests and close family (no one asked for this, but they made sure close family we're set up- again, staff seems to be given the autonomy to ensure guests are happy, which is apparent, and they were successful), valets opening the door for guests, complimentary house drinks offered with some rooms by way of a "skeleton key" coupon and in room dining. My only complaints: Cell Coverage is oddly very poor in this area, and some areas of the hotel have better wifi than others...I would have struggled if I was travelling for business. I was able to do some work in the lobby bar with a good connection. Besides that, (this one is common) hotel doors SLAM SHUT SO LOUD, so bring your earplugs or white noise.

A bit out of my beaten path but it is beautiful. The service staff was excellent. Our server went out if her way to accommodate a food allergy. The food was attractive as well as delicious. The tea presentation was wonderful. I highly recommend this venue.

We celebrated our Thanksgiving at the Drake, and we attended their Thanksgiving brunch. The atmosphere was very pleasant: there was a musician playing in lobby bar area as well as the Christmas tree and decorations were very cheerful. The food was absolutely amazing and so abundant. At the carving station there was a traditional turkey, glazed ham, prime rib, and leg of lamb. Additionally, there were hot stations of herb turkey, salmon, chicken, all of the side dishes like stuffing, sweet potatoes, etc. Endless salads, a multitude of desserts. And, for anyone wanting breakfast, there was a beautiful spread of dishes as well as an omlette station and a waffle station. Bottomless mimosas. Needless to say, our party left beyond satisfied, and this marked the start to our annual Thanksgiving tradition. Definitely will be back next year!

Excellent hotel. The staff is exceptional, from the front desk to the bartenders, food is always delicious, and rooms are very clean. If you're traveling for business, or planning a weekend getaway, I highly recommend this hotel.

The "Nice Hotel" Facade can feel a little thin, but as for actual flaws, there are few. Cooperative and friendly staff, pretty, clean rooms, and a built-in Starbucks! Great facility for events. The piano in the basement is abysmally out of tune and certainly hasn't been tuned in at least a year.

Our wedding took a place in 2018 and it truly exceeded our expectations. From planning to decorations to food and staff, we were very happy. Since then we come occasionally for a cocktail and dinner; and my favorite is coming for high tea with our daughters and my mom in law. The renovations are beautifully done and the atmosphere is phenomenal. Our businesses utilized the space even for team photoshoots and that was spectacular. Highly recommend!

Rooms are clean and nicely appointed. Stayed here on one trip in two different rooms at the start/finish of the trip. Both rooms were clean and in great shape. What I would expect from an Autograph property.

Really nice location close to nice restaurants and shops. I only have a few complaints about my stay. There was no fridge in our room, I saw ants on one of the bed stands which was unacceptable when staying at such a nice location. On the morning of my 2nd day I called the front desk and asked when housekeeping would be coming and I was told they’re starting they’re shift and will be there shortly. This was around 9 am. I saw them in my hallway but ultimately they didn’t arrive until 3:30 which was really inconvenient for us as we were getting ready for a night out. Other than these things it was a beautiful hotel and good location I will definitely be staying here again.

Great location for the golf course we were going to for a tournament. Rooms were really nice. James at the valet made my day and gave me his own personal umbrella for a 6 hour walk in the rain on the course. Thank you, James!

Nice hotel, cool property. Hard to keep temp adjusted in the rooms, but minor issue. (It was SUPER hot outside.) Rooms are very cool. Neat vibe all around.

Great location outside of Chicago. Rooms were beautifully decorated, up to date and very clean! Coffee shop, beautiful bar/lounge and restaurant on site with plenty of complimentary parking. We would stay here again.

My partner and I recently stayed here for a small weekend getaway and I’m so happy we did. Everything was lovely. James went above and beyond to make sure we knew all the services the hotel provides. He recommended meals for us to try and helped us with any questions we had. David our server at the hotels restaurant was kind and attentive. It was wonderful to see people who truly love their job, working at such a wonderful place.

We stayed here for our 30th wedding anniversary as a small in town get away until we can travel overseas. It was wonderful. Joshua checked us in and was great. When he found out it was our 30th he offered us breakfast and a late checkout. The breakfast was so yummy and the service was great. The dinning room was just beautiful. We had great drinks at the bar the night before as well. The bed was so comfortable and I am pretty picky about beds. When we checked out I asked for a book on all their hotels in their company and Jazz and William helped me with that. William the manager met me in and made sure all was taken care of. Five stars are not enough for our stay at the Drake Oakbrook. We plan to stay here again and plan to stay other Autograph Hotels as well.

I love how they always try to accommodate if I arrive early. Was nice to be able to take a nap on the comfy bed after traveling. Take a walk around and listen to all the birds and enjoy the beautiful flower gardens.

I cannot say enough good things about the Drake! The rooms are beautiful and the beds are very comfortable. But what really makes this hotel my favorite in the area is the staff! Starting with Will the General Manager who does a PHENOMENAL job of running this hotel. It's always clean and beautifully decorated for every holiday and special occasion. Alberto who runs the restaurant makes sure your dining experience is stress free and the food is consistently delicious! Joshua who man's the front desk is the consumate professional! I've stayed here 5 times and I have yet to have the slightest of any kind of issue. I took my wife to the Valentine Day dinner and she LOVED it! The ballroom was beautifully decorated, there was a warm fire place adorned with fresh roses. There was live music as we ate and the food was delicious! Every woman that attended the Valentine Day dinner was given a rose. I mean they thought of it all! Kudos and many thanks to the great men and women of the Drake for ALWAYS making me my family feel like we are arriving home!

We had dinner. It was fabulous food, our waitress was very nice and attentive. We had a birthday and she brought a warm cinnamon roll with a scoop of ice cream on it. It was delicious. The whole evening was very nice.

The rooms are pretty but they are small and this was quite literally the noisiest Marriott property I've stayed at. I heard doors slamming all night from all of the doors in my hallway and the ones below me. Anytime the guest in the room next to me turned on the water I heard it and the ac was incredibly loud. To make matters worse, there were TWO bugs in my room. The exterior is not so great either but the interior is pretty. The food is mid so I don't suggest eating there. I stayed for 4 days and was ready to leave after day 1. Won't be staying there again.

I attended a professional meeting. Lovely space, staff is very friendly and helpful, coffee and refreshments are plentiful and fresh. Outdoor gardens are beautiful. Can't wait to see the new restaurant!

Stayed for three nights on business and was entirely impressed with the customer service staff - especially in the bar. Rigo and Iris were smiling, friendly and amazing. The property itself is very clean and the rooms are filled with beautiful touches that make the stay more comfortable. The rooms are elegant and sizeable. Overall a terrific experience.

We came to Chicago for a quick stop and stayed at The Drake Hotel. From the moment we got there we were welcomed by a great staff who helped us get settled. Will, and his team ( Kevin, Miguel, Alberto, Francisco) made us feel at home. Very friendly staff! At the Drake, you'll find everything you need for a nice relaxing weekend. They have great restaurants, a Starbucks, and a nice garden area for night walks. The rooms are clean and the property grounds look great! We will be back! Thank you Drake for giving us a pleasant stay!

The Drake has outstanding accommodations. It’s my top choice for a hotel in Oakbrook/ surrounding areas. The rooms are very nice, upgraded, and spacious. The food is great and you can have the luxury of a nice restaurant without leaving the building. The bar has unique cocktails and great service. There is a Starbucks on site. The staff is amazing, Joshua is phenomenal, upon check in he made me feel most comfortable, welcomed, and assured that all of my needs would be taken care of. I’ve visited multiple times, and will always choose The Drake when I have work or leisure travel in the area.

Impeccable customer service, very upscale hotel. We felt like we got a bargain, 4 star hotel pricing for Ritz Carlton level customer service and an absolutely beautiful deluxe suite. Continental breakfast was also amazing. Joshua at the front desk went above and beyond. 11/10 would absolutely return, next time I return to Chicago.

Great property; well trained staff - courteous, friendly and helpful. Conveniently close to major POIs in Oak room without being in the thick of mall area traffic. The grounds are relaxing and their in-house amenities great. Rooms are nicely appointed and clean / comfortable. Halls can be a little noisy with foot traffic but much better than any of the nearby properties that host large groups/families etc and their buildings just carry the noise everywhere.

So glad I found this hotel! The charm is out of this world!! Parking is easy, hotel is very safe, and the rooms are stunning. If you get the chance, you must dine outdoors - great view. The restaurant and staff are spectacular- David and Miguel were so impressive. Best of the best! You can tell the whole staff enjoys working their - genuine enthusiasm for the guests experience. 10/10

From the moment I walked into this hotel I was greeted by an amazing staff. I was hired as entertainment for the evening with a private company who rented the dining room. What a spectacular setting. Top notch style and interior design. The evening was flawless and the house sound person Ricardo was amazing! He kept the show running without fail. Every staff member was super fantastic. Thank you for make my job easy! I’ll be recommending your hotel and dining room for corporate parties for sure.

I had an excellent experience with Joshua. I checked in late at night in the early hours of the morning due to travel. He was able to help me quickly workaround an issue with the 3rd party online reservation company I used, and put me in a beautiful room. The room was gorgeous. He also recommended a nearby restaurant that delivered late, after I had been at the airport all day. Both the service and the rooms are A+. The hotel is also nestled in a beautiful surrounding community. It's a First Class and White Glove experience at the Drake.
