I recently visited this cafe and unfortunately, I cannot recommend it. The food was not great, to say the least. My friends and I ordered beef and chicken steaks, and both dishes tasted like curry, which was not what we were expecting. The pizza we ordered was also poor in quality and lacked any real flavor. To make matters worse, one of our group ordered a burger and it was just plain bad. The patty was overcooked and dry, and it was not even edible. Overall, I was really disappointed with the food at this cafe and cannot recommend it. If you're looking for a good meal, you may want to look elsewhere.

Was here on Friday evening. Was not crowded. Tables suitable for large groups and couples are available. One of the best view from the cliff without obstructions. Choice of drink (beer) is less. LIIT was below par. Hookah is available. Music and dance floor are live during night.

Went for the lunch on Saturday. There wasn't much crowd at the time. The view is spectacular (as is every other place on the cliff strip). We had ordered 2 drinks, a pasta and the sandwich. The pasta and the drinks came on time, but just as we finished the pasta, they informed me that our sandwich wouldn't be available and the new order took some time to come. The food was average and price wasn't too bad.

Had gone in with high expectations seeing the positive reviews, but I was highly disappointed. Most of the dishes ordered, were either mediocre or average. The only exception to that was the butter chicken which tasted excellent, surprisingly. Don't know whether it's because the other items were sub-standard to the point, a simple butter chicken felt well made! The other plus point with the cafe is the view and the overall vibe, especially at night. Apart from that, if you're looking for some amazing food, you shall be disappointed. And the exorbitant pricing doesn't help things either. And a general trend I observed is the hit-or-miss service at peak hours. Keep that in mind when visiting any renowned cafe at Varkala.

Most busiest place in varkala cliff. Sound effects is the main attraction for this place. In a prime Saturday night, it took 1hr waiting for table & 1hr more waiting for order to be taken. Such a busy place. Still the food, music & ambience will give satisfaction & worth the wait.

I've been visiting this place for a very long time. Love the ambiance and the food although you may have to wait a little bit. If you're visiting some time in the afternoon, I suggest you sit in the front to get a beautiful view of the sea during the sunset. During the night time, the ambiance is completely different. I suggest sitting inside to enjoy it to the fullest. Little tip: if you don't like their music, you can either play your playlist or play your own music. The staff is really friendly. My friends and I bring musical instruments and jam there at nights over a couple of beers. I don't think any other place over there gives such a vibe and ambiance. Do check it out!

We had dinner here and very cool place to chill with friends. You can enjoy with food, drink and live music. They will even play your favourite songs. A good time to visit is on one Saturday evening and u will have full party vibe with beach view scenario. The was okay but not as expected but the vibe created was okay. Careful in ordering some dishes.

Stunning sea views, calm weather, and a complete Goa vibe at Cliffside Vibes. Service was a bit slow due to the crowd, but the food was good and reasonably priced. The music and overall vibe were superb, making it a must-visit for a relaxing experience.

The Aroma and the ambience is so good here. You'll get some nice brewed coffee. I've tried their hot chocolate and cookies. That was pretty good. The service was also good. The staff is well behaved. Pricing is also decent. You can sit inside or outside the cafe. Do give it a try.

I would say this is one of the best location in varkkala to sit, relax and have a mug of beer. There is a person named Antony who take care of everything... I must really appreciate his hospitality towards the guests. And regarding the menu, I am not sure why they are focusing on European, Italian and other foreigners menu... I would have rated 5 star if their menu was purely Indian because in all their dishes we will feel that taste. However I would recommend this place to visit with friends and family and to enjoy the sea waves along with a mug of beer and the food.

It has a good ambience. Tried the breakfast from there and it turned out to be an absolute mistake! Would not recommend for BREAKFAST! Only the egg & Hotdogs were eatable. The beans & vegetables were too salty & tasted wrong.

This place is highly recommended. The food was great and so the was the pricing. This place had the most vast menu out of all the places in north cliff. The ambience was amazing. The service was fast and efficient. The staff were great.

Went on a weekend night, very crowded yet the wait was fun as the food and the view did not disappoint. Prefer a side table to have a view of the sea. Fish grill options were good. Price is little on the higher side compared to other cafes on the cliff. Hot chocolate was good too.

Vibe is extremely positive. Food is also good but not great. Seafood 🦞🍢 like prawns,squid 🐙 , crab , fish, calimareen is good btw. Veg options also available. Alcohol will not be served in bottles but mugs so that family crowd find it easy as per kerala government protocols. Pro Tip - Come early like 6-7pm and take sea view restaurant else waiting is in 1h++ Also you can guide the chef how to do that you don't argue once food is on the table. Enjoy varkala vibes and get lost :)

The vibe here is amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed the night, and the food is delicious. We ordered seafood salad, pasta, and lemon mint juice; everything is nice, but the service is not satisfactory.

I used to love the old Darjeeling Cafe with its unique hippy ambiance and authentic foods. Unfortunately, the new version lacks that special vibe and the charm of the original. The ambiance feels different, and the authenticity of the food seems to have faded. Hoping they can bring back some of the old charm to make it a nostalgic experience once again.

Beautiful location at the cliff with a stunning beach view. Food was delicious. Would especially recommend the garlic butter lemon prawns. There is a separate place downstairs (Bad Habits by Darjeeling Cafe) for desserts and ice creams. Those items were also very enjoyable. Would recommend this place. Wow ! What a beautiful place like a dream . BF/Lunch/Dinner by the seashore. Too peaceful that calms and relax your soul. The Atmosphere is so good and also the food is worthy. Workers are also so good with patience. A perfect place to make yourself calm and happy. Loved the place .

Though the place looks rustic at first glance, it has managed to create a Goa-Like vibe. The food offered is of great quality. Definitely must try the Kerala rice with Kerala chicken curry. Hands down, one of the best food experiences in Kerala.

The place is calm and pleasant. Had visited along with friends. We had fish in banana leaf with coconut rice which was good but heavily overpriced, creamy white sauce prawns pasta (out of all it was the best!), Schezwan fried rice and Schezwan prawns fried rice (these two were bit on a spicy side), not talking about the view as it's almost same in every cafe over there. If you are visiting, be patient about the time (takes very long time to serve) and washrooms, they could have maintained properly. And god knows staff wants to make unnecessary conversation.

Food and drinks available in Darjeeling cafe is good when compared to nearest resturants. When we talk about the cost, it is little bit higher when compared to a normal cafe. But as tourist place the prices are reasonable

It's more like a good food with a charismatic view. We order veg .fried rice and chicken Tikka masala. It was all good .the place has a old style restaurant outlook with hangings and stuffs .we fortunately could witness the raining beach and cloudy sky together.

I had the best time here and they were very friendly. The ambience is too good and the food is freaking amazing. Please make sure to guide them how your food should be. Also, there is limitations to the sea food items.

Being a vegetarian, on my first night on the north cliff I found every restaurant has a seafood display in the front. If you arrive late, you will most probably sit next to one such display. Other than that, the place was really good. The food was amazing especially the kaju masala. The drinks were good, both beer and hard liquor is available here. The staff was very friendly. Overall you won’t be disappointed.

I went to Darjeeling Cafe for dinner and I must say that the atmosphere and vibes of this place is top notch. It’s perfect to watch the sunset while sipping coffee/ beer.. The prices are also nominal! I tried their beer which was good and Aloo Chop is yummy too. I was very disappointed with the Veg White Sauce Pasta because of which one star less! Other than that, I had a goof time here :)

The food, ambience and sitting options at this place are really good. We had breakfast here early in the morning when the less people were there. The view from it was very amazing and found very peaceful over there. The food items we ordered were great in taste. In Varakala Cliff, if you want to have breakfast i would highly recommend this place.

Good place to chill out late night

A quick snack turned out to be a surprise when served a crepe as a pancake. However the crepe was also tasty. Good vibe and good music and courteous staff make up for all. Cole coffee was worth all the money.

Spacious dining area with a great view of the sea. Ordered a couple starters and pizza which were served hot and tasted good. Great ambience and good music that was not too loud. Overall a good vibe to the place with good food and beverages that were decently priced

The place is great and the food is ok for the said price. I expected the prices to be higher due to its fame, but it's really good. The ambience here is the best in the Varkala cliff and this is a great place for enjoying food with your family and friends. The service was really great and there are people from all over the globe here! They put great songs on okay and people start dancing, disco lights are available on request. One of my favourite place to go to every evening. The view and the sunset wasn't ever enough. If you come early, you would be lucky to get the seating near the sea. I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. Very friendly staff and yummylicious food too. It's situated on a level above the shops and if you have sweet tooth or love different varieties of coffee, just below they a section where you'll get the best fresh ice cream, plz do try the blueberry also. As a vegetarian, whatever I ate was good. When you do come here, just sit relax and enjoy your time here. I will miss seeing the sunsets, until I am back again. Don't miss your chance of enjoying the place.

We had the best sea view breakfast. Food taste is good. Drinks are close to good, could be better. Atmosphere here at night was lively with DJ and party music.

I loved this place. The staff was always very friendly. The food was amazing and around 6pm you could watch the most amazing sunsets here. In the weekend there is often life music or a dj, which is very nice.

One of the Best Cafes in Varkala Cliff. I visit here regularly, the atmosphere and the food here just blends so well and it’s situated in a really stunning location,they provide car parking facility. The sea view from here is spectacular you’d just fell in love. Gorgeous view, great ambience, great service, and above average food. This restaurant is located on the northern side of Varkala Beach. Access to the hotel is a bit too narrow, so if you are driving an MPV or large SUV, be aware. The place is not accessible through wheelchair either. You have to climb a flight of stairs to get to the restaurant. Once you have waded through the narrow roads and made it to the restaurant, you will feel like spending a lot of time there. It's on a cliff overlooking the sea, and the view is simply gorgeous. Perfect place for morning coffee, breakfast, and reading, or for hanging out with friends for dinner. Interiors are largely done with a lot of wood, which adds to the mood. The staff and service are great. The menu is tastefully done, covering a whole variety of cuisines. If you are tired of local food, this is one place I will recommend visiting. The food is not out of this world, but it's good.

I could not believe that I was having this experience in Kerala and not Goa. One of the best seafood and pasta experiences I've had dining out. The ambience is godly, you are right on the cliff overlooking the Arabian sea. I had the pleasure of coming here during the monsoon and the good food paired with the stormy sea is an experience I won't be forgetting anytime soon.

Good North Indian food in Kollam. I was taken to this restaurant by my father. Now I am taking my kid. Ask for Paneer Fry. It is spicy. My favourite is Paneer Butter Masala.

I wont say the perfect north flavour i had.. But the main thing i liked about the hygiene, its not a big restaurant, but better than a big restaurant when u compare with the hospitality and cleanliness they followed... I am rating 4 star for the place, but the food i was expecting bit of north side falovour it didnt came up to that expectation.

A good place to have North Indian dishes❤ at a normal price. Both Bombay and Andhra meals are available here. The quantity of some dishes is more than you expect🙃. This restaurant is not easy to find as it not on the road side. But you can ask anyone on the streets as this restaurant is popular among the locals✌. Parking🚙 can be done on one side of the main road. The Lassi here is a must try...😍

5 star for the ambiance, 0 star for the food. 2 star for the service. My take: We visited and got a sea side table for 2. The ambiance was really stellar and hopes were high and fueled by reviews on TripAdvisor. We ordered Butter garlic prawns (felt the price was high btw) - taste was good, potion size was just okayish. We got 6 tiger prawns. Fried Rice - Absolute horrible Chilly chicken - chicken was so stiff and chewy that we decided to leave it there. Pizza: Cheese was not good at all it tasted real bad. We spent ₹2700+ as we had ordered these in the beginning. Had we waited for the first dish to arrive, we wouldn't have ordered the remaining.
