Recently I visited this BHAVNATH MAHADEV TEMPLE, Girnar Taleti, Junagadh in my Saurashtra trip. This is the same holy place from where, every year on the day of Shivratri, a grand procession takes place in the presence of pious saints from all over the country. There is also a famous Mrugikund in the premises of the temple, which is for the immersion of saints. Enough space for parking and also some rooms to stay for pilgrims behind the temple. Some people with binoculars on street near the temple, You will enjoyed the great Girnar's view from those binoculars in just 10 rupees. If you came here in summer then definitely try jaljeera soda and lemon ginger sharbat from shops located near the temple. Need to create some basic facilities like Boot house, clean washroom and some informative boards for visitors. Must visit this holy place...

Bhavnath Mahadev is a temple with very interesting design. The temple is golden painted. There is large shivling shape structure in building. The temple premises has small kund called Mrugikund and it is ancient, and various dieties have shrines are around it. There are 2 shivling in main garbhgriha. I was amused to see that Narendra Modi picture is also placed inside garbhagrih. This temple is one of the main attraction of Taleti area.

The Bhavnath Mahadev temple is a shrine ensconced in myths and legends of the Puranic era, at the base of Mount Girnar in Bhavnath village. The Shiva ling here is said to have emerged of its own divine intention. Reportedly, when Shiva and Parvati were traveling over the Girnar Hills their divine garment fell over the present Mrgi Kund, making this place an auspicious site for lord Shiva worshipers. Even today, the naga bavas [Naked sadhus] bathe in the holy Mrgi Kund before joining the Mahashivaratri procession. The fair itself is so ancient that its precise origins are unknown.

Don't miss to get blessings .. Bhavnath Temple is main attraction and most sacred place at Girnar Taleti – foot of Girnar from where devotee starts and completes the Lili Parikrama of Girnar Hill. As per the Prabhash Khand of Skand Purana, this spontaneous Bhavnath temple and Mrugi Kund is highly spiritual and historical place at Girnar Taleti. Maha Shivratri and Lili Parikrama are the two main festival observed here at Bhavnath temple. It is believed that, when Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati travelled over the Girnar hill, their divin garment fell down over Mrugi Kund, from this time Mrugi kund is most sacred place for devotee of Lord Shiva.

At the base of Girnar and on the way to the ropeway. As per the Prabhash Khand of Skand Purana, this is a Swayambhu or spontaneous ( Shiva linga is said to have appeared on its own here). Bhavnath temple and Mrigi Kund inside its campus is highly spiritual and historical place at Girnar Taleti. Temple is surrounded with beautiful views of mountain. It's great place for a weekend trip. The temple can get busy on Mondays.

Bhavnath Mandir is quite an old Shiva temple but now renovated. It is situated in a congested area of the old city. Vehicle parking could be the there on certain days. Mandir is a clean place. One may visit as the landmark visitors point in Girnar.
