I stayed at villa diponegoro, it was the most creepy villa i ever stay during my life, i cant sleep until 4 am. The location also so high with no resto near it. But to be fair, all of their service was great.

OK I feel a need to bring some balance to the reviews here. Yes, the view is amazing. And the staff are lovely. But if you're considering staying here, you really need to know the following: The noise level at the resort goes from peaceful to off the charts crazy. Five times a day (inclusive of 3.58am!), a half dozen mosque loudspeakers turn their systems up to 11 in the valley below. Ear plugs are provided - but when the pop music sessions fire up in between, they are zero help - these sessions were *really* loud - and started at 8am! The food is inedible - think of the worst hotel you've ever stayed in and you're probably on track. After day one, we ate out. The in room entertainment system is in Bahasa and no explanation of how to use it was provided. Except for the bedrooms, which were quite cramped, the only common area was entirely outside. Everyone got bitten to death by bugs - and some of the bugs were the size of small animals (especially the bees). The shower was pretty basic. No tub. No in-room espresso maker. The pool was nice - except for the bugs. The hotel can't do anything about the noise - no one can, according to Quora - but that doesn't excuse the quality of food. More could be done to reduce the bugs. We went to the Aman, which was amazing, but had similar noise issues and not as good of a view. That said, the food there was outstanding - so if you have a choice, stay there.

A place of calm and serenity, away from the busy city life. For a relaxing weekend getaway or for those who want to disconnect from the world for a bit.

It's an awesome location hidden in back hills not too far from Temple Borobudur. The room are spacious and decorated in traditional Indonesian decor. Lots of statues and antiques spread all over the property. It's clean and staff I very courteous and helpful. The breakfast was very good. We stayed for only one night but we wish we could have stayed longer. I will highly recommend it.

Love the vibe! it was like my own secret paradise. A spot where time chills out. Whether I'm chilling on the porch or wandering around, every day's a fresh dose of calm and beauty. Totally recommended

Came here with the intention to get away from city hustle and bustle for 3 nights to recharge and immerse in nature, i guess i got the nature part minus the good sleep. We stayed in siddharta suite. Pros 1) staff is really friendly and goes out of their way to make sure you’re well taken care of. 2) staff is also very accommodating and prompt in responses even via WhatsApp (pre-trip inquiries, during my stay) 3) property is in a great location, secluded along the steep slopes and you get a great view of the vicinity including Borobudur temple. Cons 1) on 2nd night while unwinding in bed we saw a huge lizard (20-30cm) pooping into our bed. Whatsapped the staff and they said they will arrange for staff to catch it the next day (which was not done as the lizard came back with more poop on the 3rd night) in the end i requested for them to nail up the mosquito net horizontally in case the lizard decides to poop in my face when i sleep at night. Sadly, i did not have a good rest on my last 2 nights. 2) property looks very tired (it’s about 10 years old), you can see signs of wear and tear, disrepair even. Broken holes in the wood that allows unwanted visitors for a visit. The shower was also broken. 3) there was a lot of ants, even on the day bed outside which was a shame as I did want to spend more time outside to take in the scenery. But each time I sat on the day bed, I ended up bringing in more ants (on my clothes) into the bed I understand the intention of being in nature, but not to the level where you cannot have a good and restful time. More effort can be out into fumigating when guests check out so it will be a cleaner and comfortable environment for the next guests. It’s a shame because I really like the property and wish it can be better taken care of. For the price I paid, I would appreciate to have a cleaner and comfortable environment to sleep in.

Together with my girlfriend I had an unforgettable experience at Villa Borobudur. It is a unique place and offers a authentic Javanese experience which you won’t find anywhere else. We were lucky to be in the same villa as the Danish royal family stayed at a few years ago. Highly recommended villa/resort!

Four nights in the hillside resort away from the maddening crowd in the Borobudur centre. Heaven. Just 5 minutes drive from Borobudur but the steep winding road takes you away from the crazy bustle. The temperature is cooler and the air fresh. Perfect combination of art and nature means you can unwind and heal. The staff are the sweetest and service is attentive and considerate. They have many villas to fulfil your needs.

Excellent view and hospitality. Stay at villa kayangan. Food are good with cheap price for 5 stars hotel, the staff really accomodate our needs and what we asked for. And spa was good either. Definitely will come back someday.

The view is stunning. You can see the Borobudur clearly. The villa is traditional javanese building. One suggestion, better arrive by day (not at nite) since the road from the security gate to the lobby is very steep and hard to manuveur and not every vehicle suitable for that. Therefore the hotel will provide their vehicle for the guest from the parking lot to the lobby and villas.

Luxurious Villa, breathtaking mountains and forest view, staffs very helpful and responsive to support the need even until late night, very clean even until inside the wardrobe. Enjoy the private pool, feels swimming in the forest, complete with the giant rubber swan for the kids. We enjoy the view and fresh air the whole day, day time still fresh, night can be cold. You can enjoy sunrise and sunset moment with the kids and family.
