Nice visit to a well maintained regional museum. Admission was $10 for adults and we spent a little over an hour there. This is a great place to learn about the area throughout history, from fur trading to logging to farming and more. I appreciated the relatively honest history about the exploitation of Native Americans and immigrants and was impressed to see some Hmong textiles and a video about Hmong New Year. When we visited there was also a Star Wars nostalgia exhibit that made my boyfriend geek out. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Eau Claire.

A very nice museum full of history. I think it will be better to visit during summer when the whole place is open. Loved the doll house too.

What a treasure for Eau Claire! Lots of great local history exhibits. Really enjoyed the new local music section. We were there checking out the student art exhibit. Lots of talented artists within ECASD.

My cousin (from TN) and I (from MN) stopped to see the house that our great-great grandfather built (Gabriel Jenson). The archivist was a wonderful tour guide... very knowledgeable and caring about the area history, including the fact that we were there to visit our own family history. I don't typically do reviews, but she must get the kudos she deserves! I highly recommend a visit to this museum!

The museum is an excellent experience, with interactive elements for children and interesting reading for parents. The ice cream parlor is an amazing addition, and always a nostalgic visit

Very cool slice of Wisconsin history of the Chippewa Valley. It covers the full spectrum of the family farm, baseball, and just about anything else you can think of! Highly recommend!

Great museum, however the staff was rather rude. They kept going up to my wife and telling her that she needs to be with our kids even though myself and other adults were with them. Even yelling at my kids right in front of me, what gives. If you want families to come here please try to be nice to us.

Fantastic exhibits, friendly staff, and a great way to learn more about the history of the area. They also have some great hands on exhibits that your kids can enjoy as well.

One of best local museums in the midwest in my opinion. And a great place to learn about the Chippewa Valley's local history, from Native American history, through the fur trade, lumbering, manufacturing, and then tourism eras.

We stopped through here when we were in the area visiting family. We went through both museums and really enjoyed them. The history and artifacts were interesting and the folks working were super friendly. I'm glad we visited, you should check it out to.

Every summer we attend some of the classes they offer that are partnered with ECASD & love them. The museum is a fun educational place for the whole family in a low key environment & very well chilled on warmer days (might need jacket, & I'm normally warm inside places). Well organized in a properly lit fashion for what's viewed (lower light where films play, medium light for display/walking, brighter in corners or naturally darker areas). Our kids are never bored when looking about & learning. Sadly, often I see stuff my elders still own & use regularly, lol!

My daughter and niece had a blast most of the pictures are of my sister-in-law and twin but we had a blast. And not only that but the gift shop and ice cream were all fairly priced.

My boyfriend and I go to lots of museum because we both enjoy history. I’ve been to very small museums and some of the largest in this country including a few in Europe. I have to say this was one of the better ones Ive been too. Many displays and activities, 1950’s diner, Paul Bunyon Logging camp, old schoolhouse. Actually impressive for the size of Eau Claire.
