Positive sides first: Spotless clean rooms and bathrooms, special to each 6-bed dorms. Has an incredibly nice garden in the back, you can sit there the whole day long. A very well facilitated kitchen, you can have one coffee for favour. Good area to charge your laptops. Location is perfect. The only negative side is the unbalance of the girls and boys in the rooms, I stayed there with 4 senior men which was a little bit strange.

The hostel is located pretty centrally - approx. 10 walking minutes to the centre, and the area is calm. The personnel is friendly and ready to help. Inner spaces are clean and tidy. There is a fully-equipped kitchen with a coffee machine at your (gratis). Internet speed is good and can be used for working. Recommend it! I found the beds uncomfortable which affected my sleep. Apart from it, cannot think about other drawbacks.

My least favorite of about 20 hostels. Floor was creaking heavily. The people upstairs make loud noises falling on the floor. Breakfast was minimal. Better to get sandwiches and juice from supermarket

The rooms are clean and the staff very kind. There is old wooden floor, hence, it makes quite some noise when people come back late (just to keep in mind ;-)). I would recommend this place to everyone who looks for an affordable central place to stay while exploring Ghent.

Overall okay but not worth the price, we Wouldn't stay here again. Rooms were average, with very loud floors and creaky beds. The mattresses and bed frames were old, and although the provided sheets seemed clean at first there was an odd white dust when you shook them. The location was okay, but I wouldn't describe it as central. Internet was okay in the common room but pretty bad upstairs in the dorms, being basically unusable. They charge you an extended fee to store your bags later 6pm, and due to the employees (Katherine) wanting to finish up earlier it was reduced even earlier in our case. I'll also note that the hostel is too cheap/lazy to put new bedding on for new guests. It's not the only hostel to cut costs in this way of course, but it's always disappointing.

Extremely hot. The fan doesn’t work and no staff came in to fix it. Had to make own bed with experience price. Not worthy it

Brilliant hostel. From the staff, to the rooms, to the breakfasts. Far outclasses many hotels, for a fraction of their cost. Max the cat, is the real star of the hostel.

Great little hostel to stay. Very well provided & clean rooms. Reception & staff were very helpful. The common kitchen makes backpacking cost effective. Walkable distance from the Ghent Belfry & the happening places. Couldn't stay for long but wished I could. Next time back to Belgium, KaBa will be definitely on the list.

The all-female dormitory room is wide and spacious, and the toilet is quite large. In terms of location, you'll need to take a bus to reach the central area. There's a kitchen where you can prepare your own food, and they also offer breakfast for 5 euros.

Great hostel. Breakfast is perfect and more than you can expect for €5. Rooms are clean with good ventilation possibilty. Bathrooms are clean and you only have to share it with your 6 person room.

Super nice hostel, the staff is friendly. We chose a private double, everything new and clean. Breakfast for 4€ is well worth it.

Good breakfast and location. But here's a 'to do' list for floor 3 dorm, if you want 5 star reviews: - it urgently needs a fan, especially on the top level. It was too hot at night and very stuffy, the window was too small and the air didn't circulate. - those silly rubber covers on the mattress and pillow make noise, each time you turn in bed. We could hear every movement of the 6 people in the room. Please change them to normal mattress/pillow covers. - to get to the top level, it would be good to install a handrail also for the left hand. The steps are very steep and I had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I was sleepy, drowsy, it's too dark, so it felt unsafe. Someone will fall there, especially drunk people. - Please install a blind over the windows, so we don't wake up at 7am with too much light in the room. - Lastly, on the top level, after going up the stairs, there's a sharp metal corner on the wall that almost cut me. I can see someone getting seriously hurt there. It needs to be sanded down and replastered.

We stayed 1 day and it was a nice place not far away from the central. They also let us to leave our baggage after our checkout so we could go other city during the day while our baggage is in there

Nice and clean hostel. Just a few minutes walk from the railway station and the city centre. Very friendly staff at the reception. I would definitely recommend this place 😀

Decent hostel with very friendly staff. Price was reasonable. The hostel is about 15 minute walk from the city centre.

Clean. Beds squeak, 10 minute walk from the centre. No problem with the noise while sleeping as other people suggest. The breakfast is basic but good.

Very poor soundproofing. Hostel personal ignores their own “silence after 10PM” rule and doesn’t control it. Very bad sleeping experience

Very cozy Hostel. Perfect starting spot to visit the main touristic venues in Ghent. Kind and friendly owner. Small but very tidy & cozy rooms ! I slept in the twin room, where you find yourself basically in the middle of a kind of Kandinsky-Picasso mixed painting. 🙂 Recommended !

A very cozy and calm hostel, the floors are a bit squeaky but nothing a pair of earplugs can’t fix.

Good for a nights stay, very small rooms, wouldn’t recommend the private rooms for couples. The room is just for one person very with bare minimum luggage. If you open the window from the private room(one room facing the street), there are like so many of them watching you from opposite apartments windows.

I booked a night in this hostel but finally managed to stay in a friend's house. Although I was off the cancellation deadline, Katrein (hope I spelled it well) gave me back half of the payment anyway. Very proffesional and very friendly.

Need a budget friendly place to stay in Ghent for a night and this place was perfect. Very clean and friendly. I had a 3 bed room and met my expectations. Walking distance to the train station and city centre.

A great environment and pocket friendly. It’s beautiful and clean, hospitable reception. Please carry earplugs just in case you have a snoring roommate(s).

It was really good hostel with affordable price, the bathroom and toilets were really clean, and there were not too many guests which was good for me. We paid 4 euro for breakfast and it is good price/performance. The only thing that I didn't like is the floor is maden by wood and also the stairs. They were gnashing. Except for that I would highly recommend this place.

Attended an event in Ghent and this was our from the event organizers rented accommodation. Very creative and unique decorations, really friendly and helpful service, the rooms are clean, the breakfast simple but good for a hostel. Only point that could be criticised would be the stairs that lead to the rooms, which is quite narrow and steep.. otherwise a great place.

Unfortunately I didn't have a good experience. I payed 28 euros for a bed with bedsheets in a dorm but no cover for my pillow. That seems like a basic to me. Everything else costs extra like breakfast, towels, etc

Facilities were great. There's a functional kitchen which I felt was a plus. The amenities were nice. They did change my female dorm selection to a mixed one at the last moment, but it was good otherwise. The location near the centre is quite advantageous.
