The best meal I had in 9 days in Mexico. Every dish was well seasoned, smartly constructed, and cooked perfectly. Eating on the terrace allowed my friends and I to enjoy the bustling atmosphere of Merida at night, and we enjoyed ourselves greatly.

Highly recommended. They close at midnight Saturday night, so after a late arrival from our Chichén Itzá/cenote tour, we had to stop by for a late dinner. Service was impeccable and ambiance was perfect. Merida remained lively long after we left at 11. I had the braised short rib. This is their signature dish, and I can’t recommend it enough. Freaking amazing!

Fantastic meal. Everything was wonderful. We had the house salad (the tuna, the braised rib (so amazing our 4yr old wouldn’t stop eating it) and the shrimp ceviche. The presentation was just as beautiful as the freshness and flavors of everything. Highly recommend. The plantain and cheese balls were so good (with the rib) As well.

Super nice Atmosphere! The food and cocktails were petty good and there was live music. They automatically added 15% tip to our tip - what was fine for the nice service, but they should have told us about it.

Fabulous food. Service was good not great. Drinks were very good. Definitely recommended. We had the fried zucchini flowers, the braised short rib for appetizer. Then we had the fish of the day and the sea bass. Both were very tasty. The bean gravy on the sea bass was rather salty so I’d take it on the side instead of them pouring it over the dish.

Taco tlayudo de Pulpo - love the tender char grilled octopus! It’s so good with yucatan cheese and avocado. It’s a huge taco by the way. Very recommended! Tiradito de Shrot Rib - it’s very juicy and tender short rib in slices with avocado, the pineapple purée sauce is a perfect match with it. Snacks is also my favorite, the thin crispy baked tortilla is an excellent cracker to match with short rib and hot salsa! They even gave us a free mutton roll sample!! Wonderful atmosphere and awesome service. Definitely will visit again when around Santa Lucia Park

High quality food with high end service. Enjoyed our dinner here on the patio. The aguachile was the best thing we ordered - so fresh & a great pairing of ingredients.

It was a nice restaurant, the food was good and the service was great. Loved the mole sauce and the combination of flavors. The mezcal sour looked Greta bit definitely not my drink.

Went twice to Apoala, because it is just so good. From what I've heard it is a fusion of Yucatecan- with Oaxaca-cuisine. Whatever it is, it works! The location at the St Lucia Parque: lovely. The food: outspoken and delicious. The drinks: unique and well build. Staff: friendly and accommodating. Absolutely loved the dishes here: they are bursting with flavour. NB: If you cannot take any heat (chilis, peppers) or you cannot stand acidity (lemons, lime), maybe reconsider your plans here. Some dishes have chilis or habanero oil in them or really have a punching acidity. If you ask me, that is what makes them work to tantalise your palate on every front, but I am aware not everyone can handle it. I highly recommend the Aguachile blanco de pescado y coco: soft, sour, complemented with sweet coconut, fresh crunchy greenery, some heat...amazing. Furthermore, the ensalada del la Casa blew me away. I've never had a tuna salad taste this good. Heat from the habanero vinaigrette, soft buttery tuna and delicious vegetables! The desserts are alright, not as breathtaking as the other dishes, but I've definitely had worse. For cocktails I truly enjoyed the Chicatana and the Oax 75, great variations! Spoiler alert: with the Chicatana you get the little bugs- I wasn't brave enough to taste them. Second time I visited, the waiter noticed I wasn't drinking and poured me a non-alcoholic cocktail, so do know you can ask for these! If there is one thing that Apoala needs to work on.... it's the ice-cold air conditioning in the bathroom: pls turn it down a bit :).

Great place to have a really tasty meal. We ordered a shrimp/corn/ zucchini ceviche that was really good. I know if you read the ingredients you won't order it, but trust me it was so delicious. The tlayuda was huge that we didn't finished it. Great wine. The crew is so friendly. You should eat here in your next visit to Mérida.

I had a starter with prawns and the fish as main and a cocktail plus a bottle of water. The bill was 1052 pesos including the 10% tip. The food presentation is excellent but the prawn starter was too acid for me and the main was too heavy. I had stomachache for the whole night and morning after so there was definitely something wrong in the food Perhaps, even if I told the waiter I was dairy intolerant there was some dairy not sure but I was unwell. My card did not work twice and the waiter asked if I had another card with such an attitude that put me in a very bad mood. So no thanks I won t go back.

If I could I would give this place a 10/10 best food I had in Mérida. The cocktail and the tacos were to die for. I wish I could take this back home.

The food was excellent. Complementary thin tortillas were fun and tasty, grilled octopus tacos were larger than expected and cooked well. Local sea bass was flavored nicely. We had a large meal and drinks 3 hours ago so weren’t hungry but decided to try this place anyway given it’s our last night. It feels that the waiter was disappointed that we didn’t order more so the service was lukewarm but polite in general. This appears to be an upscale restaurant and they do expect at least 15% tip.

Really enjoyed the food and their Oaxaca 75 drink. And you’d want to sit out on the patio—but do make a reservation for dinner time, especially during MeridaFest.

The food and service is incredible. I would definitely check this restaurant out if you plan on staying in Mérida. I would also suggest to book a table in advance too.

A restaurant on a cosy old town square may be a touristy spot, but don't let this fool you. The food here is excellent, cocktails are top notch too. Cuisine is mostly Oaxacan and if you want a little break from panuchos/salbutos and other great, but really heavy street food - this place will be on the point. On top it adds a lovely atmosphere and great friendly service - doesn't it sound good? I especially recommend tacos with lamb (If you like lamb obviously) - they are delicious!

Great experience the food and service were phenomenal. We ordered ceviche to start and enjoyed it with warm blue tostados that elevated the entire dish! Highly recommend.

The Aguachile was outstanding. Also the drink I had! I went twice… the second time I sat on the terrace and the music of the neighbor restaurant mixed with the music Apoala was playing, was very disturbing. No one wants to hear two songs simultaneously. That’s the only negative thing I experienced.

Great tasting food and excellent service but felt rushed. A group of six were seated and fed in less than an hour so if you’re looking to have a relaxing experience be sure to let them know. Stuffed zucchini flowers were excellent. Tapas were great. Cocktails had nice presentation and tasted fine but not exceptional.

I tried the picanha, it was good. The salad average but I loved the Margaritas. The service is great. Slightly overpriced though.

Wow this is my new favorite restaurant in Merida! I loved the short rib appetizer. I would eat it every day! My friend had the tuna salad and the fish was so fresh and so was the flavorful greens with it. Service was excellent and it's located in a wonderful park and setting for outdoor dining. Enjoy!

Extraordinary restaurant! If you are in Yucatan, add this one to your “must visits!” The hostess, Elizabeth, was friendly, helpful, and truly delightful. Our server, Guillermo, was fantastic and extremely personable. He had great recommendations for wine and food. Overall experience could not have been better!

Our Airbnb host recommended this restaurant and it did not disappoint us! The foods were amazing! We LOVE the aguachile and ceviche! Must order these two dishes please! Drinks were yummy - Mezcal Mule & Mezcal Sour. Great location in this lovely town.

Lovely patio area and good service. I had the Ensalada Verde / Salad of Greens and it was a great surprise, very grounding and nourishing with lots of flavor. I would definitely return here for dinner or drinks.
