Beautiful setting, very helpful and excellent staff. Their menu has just about every dish for which the Yucatan is known. So this might be a good first stop for you to get an idea of what food you will find on the rest of your trip. Our food was just OK. I would not recommend this restaurant if you are expecting to eat a lot of Yucatan food on your trip. However, if you are traveling with a large group of picky eaters and/or children, this restaurant is in a very good location and may be exactly the spot for you!

This is probably the most disappointing meal we had in Mexico in 3 weeks. This restaurant is recommended buy all guides, not sure why. We had the tamales, this was very dry and did not taste fresh. Definitely overpriced for the quality. However, the location and environment are quite nice, but I would not stop again for food (the green juice was good).

It was fun to try a few yucatecan dishes. Food and prices were fine. We paid $539MXN plus tip for 2. Service was fine, didn't get offered additional drinks, salsas, or dessert. Atmosphere was fine. No need to go back

Recommended by our walking tour guide and several other guides, we tried this restaurant known for Yucatan food. It’s a little bit touristic but the food was good. Not that good compared to food you get from the booths in the market halls. But it was tasty. Service was really nice. They speak Spanish & English. Menu is also available in both languages.

I was really surprised how good the food was. I had a white fish filet (percha?) in a delicious, rich, green cream sauce with rice. I can't tell you what my nephew had, but he loved it; very tender chicken in a not spicy brown sauce. Home made tortillas--in fact we can two women in traditional dress making them (masa?). Service was excellent, very attentive. The atmosphere was quite nice. Inner courtyard, and a large open air room with high ceiling fans (no A/C). At dinner, there is a huge inside dining room that I don't think they open for lunch or breakfast. Somewhat expensive for Mexico, but very high quality, very fresh. I would certainly return.

This place is a little slice of heaven. It’s so peaceful here. A wonderful way to start or end your day. I don’t think the reviews or even the photos really do this place justice. It feels like you are slipping into a different period of time. It’s wonderfully accented with touches off colonial architecture, but elevated to atmospheric heights with it’s presentation of Mayan culture. This place is a must stop during your time in Merida.

Quite the tourist-trap this one. Don't get me wrong: it's a nice tourist trap. They have everything you'd like as a tourist interested in the local cuisine. We tried this place to try in one go all the dishes and get a feeling of what we like. It's great for that. The setting is great as well, as the building really sets a colonial atmosphere. However, compared to other places, this is a pretty expensive place. The food is good, but nothing to write home about. The service is fast...maybe a little too rushed. The portions are good; you will definitely not go home hungry. However, I would still recommend going to local taquerias (la Union is just a street away) and the food market (San Benito) if you want to experience the local flavours in a less expensive manner. I can recommend their Sopa de Lima though, that is pretty tasty if you like limes.

Beautiful courtyard and a warm friendly vibe. Favorites were the tikin xic (fish), taco de cochinita, and the chaya and lime juice. Loved the traditional flavors, friendly service, and green open courtyard.

This place is a must. Yucatecan cuisine varies from the usual Mexican cuisine, and this is one of the best places to get a taste of it. As soon as you go in, you'll see women making hand made tortillas, nothing can beat that. You can't go wrong with panuchos and Cochinita Pibil. Everything on the menu looks amazing.

This restaurant is absolutely amazing. The queso relleno was divine. It had a little sauce delicious. The lima soup was excellent. The chaia and pineapple drink was great. The chia lime too. The Horchata was not real.the food was great and it was amazing to see the girls doing tortillas. They were delicious. The location was great and too the decorations. I really recommend it.

Lovely setting, speedy and friendly service. Food was tasty but not spectacular. However we didn't mind paying as they had nice bathrooms and an extremely pleasant setting. Very relaxing garden setting. Would go again.

It’s unfortunate that I had a bad experience here because it is lovely and the service is great. However the dogfish tacos made me ill. The fish smelled off and I immediately felt like I had to stop after one bite. I thought maybe the heat was just getting to me but I was ill shortly after. I’m sure this was just a one off incident so I wouldn’t recommend this dish.

A grand palatial home transformed into a restaurant. Pay special attention to the tall wooden doors and window coverings. The atmosphere is expensive. But the meals are affordable. The wait staff were very attentive but never pushy. The "Pulled Pork", Orden de Cochinita, was succulent and flavorful. A large portion. If you need more spice, don't hesitate to include, in each bite, some of that green pepper garnish. I enjoyed this meal very much!

If it's your first time in Merida, I highly recommend this place (it has two locations downtown; either one is good). The service is excellent, the staff very friendly, and the food delicious! (I'm still thinking about it). For lunch, I had Papatzul, agua de chaya con lima, and carajillo maya. I also asked if I could try the tortillas they make by hand, and they brought me two, and then I asked for habanero salsa: DELICIOUS! best combination

Food was good but served entirely too fast... Not even a hint that it was other than mass produced earlier in the day.

This is a classic first stop when you arrive with an appetite for authentic Yucatán food, to start of your trip to Merida. It’s very centric and you definitely can walk of your panuchos after your meal. The menu boost of all the regional delicacies which goes from salbutes, queso relleno, pox chuc and pan de cazón accompanied with a Chaya lemonade.

Our favorite restaurant in Merida. On this trip we ate dinner here one evening and had breakfast on several mornings. The food is consistently good and the service excellent. Probably the freshest tortillas you will get in town as there is a woman making tortillas by the entrance. If you are new to Mayan food, this is a great place to sample some of the classic dishes.

We went to have dinner and the food was excellent. Great service and a big menu selection. My wife ordered an artesanal Mayan beer, I did ordered the Chaya lima waters. For dinner we ordered the 4 mayan order for two.

We had a great time here. The atmosphere was so fun and unique, while the service, value, and food were exquisite. The panuchos and Cochinita Pibil were sublime. The brazo de reina was so unique and flavorful. We loved the desayuna coming with Chaya juice, delicous coffee, and fruit. I can't wait to go back.

We ordered three different types of tacos and crispy tortillas. Unfortunately, the tortillas are not very good and soaked by some watery sauce as the we all placed together on one plate. The fillings were okay, but not amazing. Lonagnica de Valladolia was quite good. The service was excellent. Very friendly, quick and paying attention. The location is nice in the center room, but we got placed in a dark side area with a dripping air condition above. So not so pleasent. At least we could charge our phones next to the table.

Food - the food is good, we didn't like one of the dishes and they replaced it with something else with no qualms. We recommend the seafood dish and the 3 meats dish - especially the sausage. We don't recommend the dish with the turkey and pork in black sauce. Service - is pretty good. Atmosphere - it is a nice garden but the lighting is a bit harsh, they could work on the atmosphere a bit. A nice touch were the two ladies who sat in the middle of the commotion and made tortillas.

AMAZING food - best papdzules in Mérida :). Good vegetarian options. I’d love them to make mushroom or cauliflower pibil 🙏🏽.

Great experience dining here recently. The food and service were very good. The fresh home made corn tortillas are very good. I was able to pay with a credit card but the waiter seemed pleased with a cash tip. If it’s hot I recommend the back room which has some air conditioning. I will definitely return in the future!

👍👍 Excellent! I ordered three of the pastor tacos. My wife ordered two chicken tacos. Best we've had in a very long time and we're loaded with meat. Two classic Margaritas each. Both were tasty and potent. I wasn't done so I ordered two of the bistec (steak) tacos. Also yummy! We will definitely go...
