Went here for a birthday dinner last night. I will start by saying all the food that I ate was good. My issue is with the service and lack of hospitality and any attempt on the restaurants part to do right by the customer. First off they had lost our reservation and we were forced to pull up a confirmation email while standing outside of the restaurant. We ordered an expensive bottle of wine for the table after being told that we were not allowed to have a taste of a different wine that is served by the glass. Having worked in fine dining restaurants I can understand not necessarily giving tastes if bottles are not regularly opened and not opening a bottle just for a taste so I didn’t think to much into it at the time and we ordered a bottle of something more expensive anyway. (Probably what they wanted us to do by denying the taste.) After having a few sips of wine I noticed that there was a live bug swimming in my glass (not the restaurants fault). I asked for a new glass from a server. He took away my 90% full glass of wine and brought a new empty glass. He poured the remainder of our bottle into my new glass and the restaurant made no attempt to resolve the situation by either offering a free glass of wine, taking a small percentage off the bill or at the very least apologizing for throwing away a quarter of my bottle of wine! I would have honestly drank the glass with a bug in it but at the very least would have liked it strained out first! We ended up ordering another bottle in part because we had lost a quarter of the last one. Again no apology or offer to remedy the situation. That is honestly terrible hospitality in my opinion. The short ribs were served table side and the server struggled with an empty lighter for minutes to set up the presentation while awkwardly standing in the way of the walking path of the restaurant. If you are going to serve anything table side you should make sure you are prepared before showing up to the table. The final straw for me and the reason I decided to write a review was that we asked to wrap all of our leftover food to go. That included half a Caesar salad, a side of spinach, and the remaining short ribs. Imagine my frustration when I opened the bag of food today and the only thing that they had wrapped up was the short ribs. Overall there are about a hundred other restaurants in Merida that are just as good and I won’t be returning to spend my money in a place that cares so little about their guests experience. PS. I was excited to see they had beef Wellington on their menu but upon asking for clarification on the item I was informed it did not come with any sauce which I found very unusual for Wellington. They also describe it as being wrapped in pastry with wild mushrooms. For those that do not know a proper Wellington is wrapped in prosciutto and duxelles and served with a reduction sauce and usually accompanied with side dishes. They are charging high prices for dishes that fall short of the mark. What we ate. Scallops with bone marrow - fine but underwhelming. Served on a crostini that did nothing to complement or elevate the dish. Caesar salad - pretty good not much to say. I honestly don’t think they bothered to wash the romaine though. Salmon tacos - tasty! Salmon was good. Fried leeks added perfect texture. Squeeze of lime added the right amount of acidity for a well rounded delicious bite. Short ribs - I’d give them a 6.5 out of 10. Had some flavor but needed a proper sauce to elevate the dish. Not very impressive Creamed spinach - This along with the tacos were the highlight for me. Creamy, cheesy, overall just delicious. Made all the more frustrating because I saved extra and was expecting to have leftovers but they were not wrapped up as I had asked.

Wow. Absolutely my favorite steak house. Peter Lugers , Berns neither hold a candle to 130. Incredible selection of scotch and wine. The steak though, expertly cooked over charcoal. - In regards to a previous review , 40oz ribeye, Mac and cheese, truffle fries , should never be any thing but rich , salty and in the case of 130 absolutely delicious.

Horrible … Merida is a great city to enjoy its restaurants, their food is delicioso and the service is beyond great however this place has been the worst experience we have had here. Service: We had to ask twice for someone to visit put table and get our drinks ordered. Just one waiter and many managers/hosts. Food: we ordered chicharron de ribeye. Not impressed at all. At that point I decided not to order meats… I knew it would be a bad option. It was juicy however not impressive taste. My son ordered Ribeye on a stone with truffled french fries… McDonald’s fries are better, these were cold and again not impressive. The meat, oh Gosh, we cook better at home! My husband ordered Fetuccini Tapado (fetuccini con camarón y mejillón) so sad! That pasta came beautifully presente with a crust on top however as soon as the waiter opened it up you could see the lack of sauce. I ordered the Ceviche… it offered camote and corn with it, well it only came with an inch worth of corn of the cob, 2 pieces (literally 2 fries) of sweet potatoes and the “leche de tigre” Peruvian style was red! Not impressed again with the tase of the food. Drinks: We ordered one chelada (all good and tasty) and 2 margaritas with mezcal, really bad drinks, enough mezcal but not tasty at all, I didn’t drink mine. We’re not returning here anymore. Merida has many great places to visit with great quality, absolute gourmet and way better prices very very very nearby!

Very high end steak house for sure, when we attended they charged 55 pesos per oz for steak, problem was the steak was 32oz, I thought we’d get like a 10oz steak, but that’s not how it works there. Every steak take 45 minutes to prepare, all sides are more$$$. To be clear we didn’t eat there, didn’t want that much steak, and didn’t want to wait 45 minutes

Cowboy steak enough for tres hombres and came with 4 bones with marrow - very delicious. My risotto was amazing and came with freshly shaved truffle.

It's one of the best steakhouses I've been to, coming from a cattle family. The scallops with bone marrow were incredibly delicious, and the porterhouse, cooked to perfection with amazing flavors. Highly recommend it if you want a break from Yucatán cuisine.

Here we are again, the culinary professionals, and we decided to celebrate another one of us's birthday at 130 Steakhouse except this time it wasn't the impressive showing we had on the previous occasion , I'll explain: We ordered Mojitos all around yet they were not very good, flat taste and missing some sweetness, waiter said new bartender. Then we ordered a Rib Eye Top which did not WOW us as last time, not as flavorful and just OK, we were VERY disappointed. Then came the Rib Eye which was good, except both meat items were not hot so where were they? They sit out too long on the kitchen table? Not good. Another thing was the waiter asked "even portions all around?" yet I as a woman was served a tiny piece of both meats which both of my male partners commented on. This is not OK, sexist or what? Dainty ladies don't eat more? Fix this, it's rude to be made less of. Ordered the Esquites which were hard corn and just OK flavor. Desserts were the Lemon Curd that once again had a perfect meringue over a very forgettable and totally lacking lemon flavor curd, no citrus bang at all, you might as well just serve the meringue since the curd is not worth it, neither is the crust which is so hard and way too thick. The Fudge is not fudge first off, this is a very dry chocolate cake with a mousse filling and a condensed milk kind of chocolate frosting and while the mousse is ok, the cake is awful with a large dry crumb. Also, ordered a Sangria which was NOT sangria at all and the waiter explained that "in Yucatan" Sangria is something else, really? So the rest of the world has a different concept? WOW, your other drink is the Sangria while the Sangria is yet another one that is sour tasting and unpleasant. Go figure. Tonight was a very noisy place, loud children and people bringing their own wine which is almost unheard of in other places. Waited quite a while for the waiter to appear, he was pleasant but very slow service. Group of women came in taking flash pictures which left us unable to see for a while and 2 months later and the restaurant quality is lessened, how sad, fortunately for us there are many other restaurants out there. We thought we had found a steakhouse to keep. And you'll say we're picky and yes we are but we know when things are done right and a place works and when it doesn't.

Fantastic, they really know how to cook a steak. We had 450g centre cut steak rare/medium cooked each. It was massive but you can take home a doggy bag. We thought it was extremely good value considering the prices we pay in England for steak, however it is more high end then the majority of the Mexican restaurants we've been to, so expect to pay more! Well worth it! Highly recommended.

As a single person I planned a meal here on my last night of vacation. Was quite excited. I was seated. I placed a drink order. 22 minutes went by and no drink. No service. Nothing. I got up and walked out. Shameful for such a high end establishment.

Slow service, we waited more than 1 hour for our food. Nice flavor though. Portions are really big, but the size portion doesn't justify the cost, after I was told they didn't have hamburgers, I chose a risotto, I was expecting a sublime experience and I received mostly rice and butter for more than $47 dollars; yes, I know, the truffles, but honestly, they don't add much. The salmon was good, but it didn't have any kind of vegetable with it. The waiter asked for a 15% tip, I don't mind tipping more than 10%, but I don't like to be asked.

Delicious food and worth the splurge! Service was fine but nothing special for being one of Merida’s finest restaurant.

I was disappointed after my first visit, the service was excellent, the meat was great don't get me wrong, this place claims to be among the best steak houses in Merida but the rest I ordered was mediocre to bad and certainly not at the level it supposed to be. The "ribeye chicharrón" was plain without any seasoning, not even the meet contributed to enrich the plate's flavor simply mediocre. The "esquite", well the worst I've ever tried in México, even the desert which looked awesome was a simply brownie with vanilla Ice cream on top. I've been in high end places in México and everything from start to finish is awesome, unique gastronomic experiences, this was NOT the case. Over-rated place, excessive price for what you get.

I visited 130 on a Thursday at 745pm. It wasn't busy and from the look of it from the entrance, there were probably 2 tables being used. I flew in on a business trip from the states and someone recommended to try them. I went by myself and I was denied service because I didn't have a reservation. Not sure if that's the policy, but I had no way of making a reservation because I had no service on my phone. I even asked if they would accommodate being that it was empty. I told them, 45 mins top I would be done but even then they said no. Oh well.

my partner ate at 130 degrees saturday night firstly there was no white or rose already chilled, with it being so hot in merida would be nice to start with a nice cold glass of wine. We had the truffle fries and the mushrooms which were amazing, we followed with the poached egg on crispy ribeye the menu did not say it came in a skillet filled with hot oil and cooked at the table of which i tried but could eat much of it as it was soaked in oil, I think they may want to add on their menu about the skillet and all the oil. Then we had the scallops with marrow which the presentation was amazing but not sure the scallops were cooked. I was up all night vomiting and diarrhea and now closer to 48 hours and can’t leave the house. I messaged the restaurant first thing the next day to inform them of my health condition just in case it happed to more people that evening, i did not here back for around 12 hours after i messaged them again to ask if they received my message. I was informed that the message was passed along to David Angeles Director of operations at 130 Degrees at around 8:30 pm we went back and fourth and my suggestion was that the menus state how certain dishes are cooked in etc, he did apologize and did offer a recommendation of a Doctor and would cover the expenses. We did love the restaurant but not worth loosing the two days of a great vacation in Merida. We did eat amazing food all over Merida from local Yucatán food to French and Italian the local cuisine was our favorite. kenneth Bradshaw.

This is a high-end steakhouse that exceeded our expectations. Not looking for a high-end spot for a late lunch, this was a serendipitous, thoroughly pleasing discovery. The medium rare rib-eye was done to perfection and the caesar salad (plated in the original presentation, rarely seen) was equally pleasing. Both the steak and the salad were large enough to share. Service and decor were also top-drawer. The wine list was as expected, offering excellent choices. Not an inexpensive meal, but full value for money spent. I will definitely return on the expectation that the experience is consistent.

Super slow service, this was my last meal in Merida considering how popular this place is the food is below mediocre (smh) ordered a farmers roast, medium rare but it’s clearly over cooked dry af… 😅MXN 1250 pesos for a palm size overcooked salty 250g steak. THINK TWICE. This street has so many more options that serve better food and more attentive service.
