This historic square is an ideal place to take a little break amongst its shady trees. In the center of the plaza is the monument of the Niños Heroes. It features the sculpture of an eagle and six bronze figures that represent the teenage cadets who are reported to have sacrificed their lives in the 1847 battle of Chapultepec against invading U.S forces.

We walk our 3 dogs thru here on our way downtown. Sometimes they have floral designs and displays here in this park!

Had a great time at this plant expo. Honestly when I arrived I thought oh, there isn't a lot of vendors but more came and the selections were definitely worth it. Even won a Hoya in a drawing on site! Definitely going back at the end of May for round 2, Lol!

Love the christmas flowers. We walked through te park while we were going to the museo de arte yucatan. Lovely christmas music at the park, not so many turists there, so that's always great. The policemen were walking through the park!

Close to our home this is a small park with many benches on the way to downtown Merida. A lovely old church which is very photogenic as well!

It's a quiet square that used to have gardens in the centre but they have now been removed allowing locals to use. It's nice to see locals meeting, practising dance moves, skateboarding etc. Two good restaurants in the square; Los Alamandros, a full dining experience and La Pizzateria for coffee and beer during the day and Pizza at night. ( Pardon my spelling) Also has a Coffee and Books cafe. There's an Art Museum just around the corner.
