The Valparasio Inn was a great place to stay. My wife and I stopped on our way to Chicago and spent a night here. The house is beautiful, and has a great aesthetic. The room we stayed in, the Madeline, was comfortable and had a great view with the windows. The inn is well situated, within easy walking distance of downtown Valparaiso and many fine restaurants, as well as a great ice cream place! The breakfast was amazing as well. The gentleman innkeeper was warm, friendly, and had great information on the local scene. Highly recommend this place.

Take a trip back in time to a more refined era. Being surrounded by beautiful things takes me back to my childhood where fine antiques were collected, (with fascinating stories) cherished and preserved. Beautifully restored elegant home with well-appointed rooms. Each room stunningly restored. Many things to appreciate, such as dining with fine silverware and china and the functioning grandfather clock. Wood floors throughout, restored rooms and bathrooms all very tastefully done. Hot tub. Jim made me feel most welcome and comfortable during my stay. He prepared a 3 course breakfast every day. He was most accommodating and obviously has worked very hard to provide this unique and tranquil stay. I wholeheartedly recommend!

Jim is absolutely amazing. He is very friendly, offering suggestions for places to eat including Albanos Pasta where we went to dinner twice it was so good! The breakfast is served in 3 courses on fancy China & is so delicious! The rooms are decorated very nicely & are very clean. The neighborhood is super cute with a lot of the houses having immaculate landscaping. We loved our stay & look forward to returning. We highly recommend Valparaiso Inn B&B!

I can't say enough good about this top-notch b&b. The owners, Jim and Liz, are extremely gracious and generous down to earth people. The rooms are wonderful. I booked the Kara sweet at the Valparaiso Inn Bed and Breakfast for my wife's birthday but ended up in the Juliet room. Jim and his wife met with us upon arrival to discuss accommodations and just to get to know us. They are wonderful people! Jim is an amazing chef! The breakfast were decadent 3 course meals! He definitely has a nack for detail. If you didn't catch him around the Inn, he was always just a text or phone call away. He helped us get reservations to a restaurant the night we arrived. He is extremely knowledgeable of the area, attractions, and places to eat. 5 stars for certain!

The Inn is stunning. It has period antiques and poster beds. The claw foot tubs or spa tubs are so large and beautiful! There is not a bad room in the Inn! Three queen rooms or two king rooms. I can’t wait to go back!

We stayed at Valparaiso Inn Bed & Breakfast at the end of June for our anniversary. It was the best experience we have ever had at a Bed & Breakfast! The cleanliness and accomodations were perfect. Everything was top notch, including the owners! The owner Jim was very hospitable and welcoming. He assured we had everything we needed for our stay. He even made sure I had hot tea in the mornings, since I am not a coffee drinker. 😊 The freshly made breakfast was amazing. The attention to detail does not go unnoticed! The Inn is a beautiful Victorian mansion with many antiques. The bathroom in the Stella room was renovated with a soaking tub and a rain head standing shower. The tub was perfect after a long day of walking experiencing the lively downtown Valparaiso, and shopping at the outlet mall in Michigan City. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay. We thank you Jim for a wonderful experience! We wish we would have found this special place sooner!

We love staying at Bed n Breakfasts, for all of the typical reasons. The Valparaiso Inn is exceptional in every way - lodging, history, location, amenities, food, ownership. The attention to detail is also evident. The owner was the most gracious and communicative host, and you'll be surprised to learn about all of the renovation work that he did himself.

From the start to the finish, this was an amazing experience. First class rooms with an amazing tub in the stella room. Breakfast was a show stopper with Jim making food one could expect from a luxury resort. You cant go wrong with staying here, great places to walk to and lots of fun stuff in the area. Also a nice play to go if you want to drive into chicago for an afternoon.

Everything was great at this place. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are kind and are willing to assist with anything. Breakfast was hardy and delicious. From a simple romantic get away to a Indiana dunes respite cannot recommend this place enough.

Elegant, comfortable, immaculate lodging, the Valparaiso Inn B&B is the very definition of outstanding hospitality! The public rooms are furnished with remarkable antiques and yet is a comfortable gathering place for relaxed conversation. The Stella Suite, our king room, was very spacious with comfortable seating for two, a round table (we are card players) and an enormous bathroom with a circular glass shower and a claw-footed tub. The towels were fluffy and luxurious. Breakfast was sumptuous: mango/orange juice, chocolate croissants and blueberry muffins, mango sorbet(!), roasted prociusotto, French toast with tart apples and Canadian maple syrup. Our most welcoming innkeeper, Jim, made certain that the coffee was flowing and that we were happy, well-served and welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning often!
