California Burritos

Restaurant Mexican restaurant Burrito restaurant Salvadoran restaurant

😠 When they’re open this place is the best, but they’ve been closed everytime I’ve gone for like a month. The other location isn’t nearly as good, seems like they’re missing out on a lot of business by being closed constantly. Sad People often mention time, order, location, good, burritos, staff, restaurant, orders, give, great,

I used to love this place. But now they are always closed (I understand not having enough staff but employees are closing restaurant to take personal breaks). When they are open my order is wrong every single time.

I truly wish I could leave 0 stars. I'll leave this short and sweet: if you're on a tight schedule and want something for lunch, you're better off going somewhere else. I have placed orders online multiple times, trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. Nope. If you order online, expect to wait 30 min after the estimated pickup time. Food is not worth what they charge, nor is it authentic; CB is the McDonald's of burritos.

My office has ordered from here a few times. Not once has the order been correct. Items missing or incorrectly prepared. I'll give them that their hot salsa is good and the pupusas, when made correctly, are yummy. I wouldn't go here given a choice.

I have been a regular customer at this location for a few years now. I have not had a problem until recently when i have made takeout orders. I will order my food a half hour before i get there and when i arrive the food has not even been started. I would watch people in line getting served before me. If this only happened once or twice i would have no need to write a review as i know at times it could be busy. I have now experienced this 4 times and when i went to the location today there was only 2 people in line and i still waited 40 minutes for my food and was late for my job. I think if online orders are too much during the day the feature should be turned off so that future customers do not have to experience what i have had to. I also think someone should work there that understands english because trying to communicate with the workers is difficult and they need to understand that these problems are not okay. I have not had these issues at the other locations they are done in time.

Food is always amazing. But don’t trust pick up order time at all. This is my 5th time waiting to get my food after the scheduled time to pick up. Every time they wait to make my order. So food yes great! Not worth the wait though so overall Meh…🤷‍♂️

First time I’ve gone here and the food and service were excellent. Burrito was terrific. I loved the way they chatted up my carnitas on the griddle before putting it in the burrito. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Much better than the other local burrito chains. I will definitely go back.

Always order here since this is the closest location from my home. Online ordering is very easy to use. (If you don't know how to use it, I'm going to assume you're a boomer and complain about everything) Carne asada fries and pupusas are always on point. You get your monies worth here as well. Highly recommend this location as well as the other ones I've visited.

The Amherst St Chipolte has taken a nose dive for me the last few months. From food quality, inconsistent portions and customer service, etc. Chipolte itself had had a shaky past with food safety, so seeing this location so poorly run had me looking for alternative. Enter "California Burritos", a well known local chain of sorts, that myself, knew of but never tried. It has not disappointed so far. I like that it is open, fair clean fast casual for quick turnaround time and the food is fresh and tasty. In other words, none of the issues that plague the other competitors in the immediate area. My food has been nothing sort of meeting to exceeding expectations. The ONE issue I note is the state of the cutting board for the proteins. I get it, you need quickness...but for the love of jeebus, I sincerely hope they swap those out at least a few times during operating hours. It's just my "spidey sense" [AKA my Servesafe trainer cert] that gives me a quick shudder, when I see it, trusting that that is changed or at least flipped over every 4.hours or so, as it can be a breeding ground if left unchecked at room temp for some "undesirable" effects. Not knowing their protocol with that just leaves me shy of perfect rating fir what it is: Fast, tasty, casual assembly line of delicious food. If the establishment would like to comment, will ammend my ratings accordingly. Now that I've wrote this, I'm craving, with a visit surely in the cards very soon.

Overall it was good, in my humble opinion for the cost the portion could have been a bit bigger. service was quick but most of the staff seemed enamored by a patron that came in after us.

Great food. Line can get long so give your self plenty of time during rush hour.

DO NOT Order Online. I tried this location twice while ordering online. On both occasions the crew was clueless about the order and took me more waiting time. Instead go direct and stand in queue. Food is good though.

Had Margaret's at another restaurant down the street. Wives wanted cookies (next store). Of courses we needed something while we waited. The best Margaret I've had in a while. I'm a purest. No sour mix. I will be back!

The burritos are better than Moe‘s and chipotles…. Chips are decent and thick. Guacamole isn’t that cold, and didn’t taste fresh. The drink I had got had no cover and there wasn’t any around either. The dining room could’ve been a little more cleaner. The dining room is big and decent. Music was on the high side. Customers had a hard time saying their order to the employee….. little bit of a language barrier too. Overall they do have delicious burritos….

This is my all-time favorite place to get a burrito bowl, and their prices are better than any other place I've been. Good food, quick service, great prices. What more could you ask for!

The Food is 5 stars… if you only speak English then your order could end up being wrong like mine often is. You can place the order online ahead of time but they never look at those orders and don’t start making your food until you arrive at the counter. It’s actually quite a frustrating place to order from but the food is amazing 95% of the time so it’s worth it once in a while at least. There are more English speaking people in the down town location than there is at the Amherst location. Try the Tres Leches dessert!!! It use to be better but as usual with any good restaurant, they have started scrimping and cutting corners.

Casual place with a Margherita bar and great burritos! Perfect for a quick bite to eat. Deliceous fresh ingredients all put together very quickly with many options. Easy seating, plenty of TVs and very clean. Didn't get to try a Margherita on this visit but the bar was busy and the drinks looked deliceous. Easy transitions from the parking lot to the restaurant. The parking lot can be a little dark down near the pet store and it can be hard to see pedestrians. Great stores nearby.

After a few tries, I must say the burritos here just aren't that flavorful. In addition, on our last visit there, it took 30 minutes to get through the 5 or 6 people in front of us. If the staff stuck to their stations, the efficiency would increase. Unfortunately, our last meal there also had shards of chicken bone in it. Wasn't a pleasant experience to say the least.

The restaurant has everything spaced out according to the new rules. The line moves relatively quickly, so spend your time wisely and think about what you want when the line forms! Its a small establishment so there aren’t many seats (even less now), but they clear out in a timely fashion. Many people opt for to-go. The food was good and tasted very fresh! We all enjoyed our bowls and the authentic soda. The staff was friendly & we will definitely be returning!

this location is the best!! ever since they closed i had been WAITING for cellu drive to open again because factory street is the worst. like seriously i was checking their facebook for months, everytime I would get oak craft I would peek inside and see if construction was almost done. i almost always do mobile orders and the one on factory st never makes the mobile orders ahead of time, its tiny so to get the mobile order you have to cut the line, they never give me the queso & extra hot salsa that i pay for or would argue with me over it even if i showed them the receipt, would make my order wrong or forget items etc. the one on cellu drive i have gone 2x since they opened and no issues!! they always have mobile orders ready, easy to grab them, my order is never wrong, they always give me the side sauces i ask for and the cups they give you for the salsa & queso are bigger than the other locations (which they should be since its $1 just for queso!) staff here is way nicer and efficient as well i will never go back to factory st again and i am so so so happy this one is open again!

Food was good, but service was just bad. Pretty much felt like they wanted you out of there. Will probably not come back. For great Mexican food AND service, go down to Frontera down the road.

We LOVE these burritos, we have been back multiple times. I am a vegetarian and get beans, rice, and veggies and it is always SO flavorful and delish. Also recommend the chipotle ranch on it. So good.

Best burritos in the area. The steak, hot salsa, pico and chipotle ranch are amazing. If you go, get some chipotle ranch on your burrito.

I used to live in California, so my standards for good Mexican food is pretty high. A friend told me that they have decent carne asada fries on their menu so I had to come try them. The fries were delicious and so was the chicken quesadilla I ordered. I also loved their spicy salsa. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because the chips weren’t great, but nonetheless I would definitely come here again.

My family is thrilled to find a great Mexican restaurant nearby. Carne asada burrito is delicious. Carnitas is very flavorful and the tortillas taste homemade. Also got to mention how nice everyone is in the restaurant. They always make us feel welcome.

Great place to get some delicious Mexican food! Simple yet delicious. Everything is fresh and the food is made quick. Be sure to try the fish tacos which aren't on the regular menu. Grab a Jarritos drink too!
